We got there a little late but not by much. I think we only missed the first two songs. The first half overall was quite a drag. I was bored and uninterested. There were a lot of tech issues though. The sound just didn't seem right. Plus much of the time the music felt like it was overpowering. Personally the song selection for the first half was just BAD. I mean I actually like the songs they did but for this show where there's a lot of kids and families hearing them sing songs with sexual meanings was just weird. Plus it didn't do much to create connection with the audience. All the choreographed bits sometimes made things worse. At times it was almost torture having to sit there. The only two I liked were Paul and Devin. The second half was TONS better. It was world's apart. Angie and Janelle were AWESOME! They totally kicked butt. They were both fun and entertaining. It was dynamic yet free and comfortable. They were naturals up there on the stage. Kree was amazing too. Listening to her was like a breath of fresh air. Lazaro was pleasantly surprising. He was very good and I enjoyed him a lot. Candice while great did absolutely nothing for me but I recognize she's got a great voice and she uses it well! The show on a whole was not the best compared to previous years. As far as the audience goes it was pretty mixed. There were lots of couples, families, older and younger. From what I could tell it was a solid crowd. The place wasn't sold out but it looked pretty full. I'm glad I went and got to see the girls. They made it totally worth it!

I think if the songs are ones he knows well and really likes singing and are in his wheelhouse he does OK.

Actually I have read elsewhere that Lazaro was surprisingly good during his solo..........the group numbers, not so much.

Here's a funny bit about Lazaro. When he was singing "Feeling Good" my sister leaned over and asked me, "Doesn't it feel like he should be stripping to this song?" She said that because he had taken off his suit jacket and was twirling it around. I laughed my butt off at that! He was really good though. He also sang "Edge of Glory" by Lady Gaga. Yeah there were a few times where the words were jumbled but he did really well and the crowd loved him.

Like I wrote last night Janelle and Angie were amazeballs. There just aren't enough words for those two girls. I loved them! LOVED THEM!

Janelle did a really good job.

I hope the country market embraces her.

I thought they would Kristie Lee Cook but nope.

I hope the same for Janelle. She really has star quality. She sparkles. AI has had so many great country artists over the years but I think Janelle is absolutely one of the best.

Janelle looked and sounded amazing at that performance. Best of luck to her. She is 1000 times better than Candice in every way!

Kristy Lee Cook really never got a chance. After Idol she got a record label and they rushed her cd in the making and then putting it out but never ever promoted it. It was out maybe a few months and she was dropped by her label. One reason I am not fans of the Labels when it come to AI alum is cause they do what the show does. They use you and then throw you away like you are yesterdays garbage. You are only a thing to them and they do not care about you at all. The labels like AI have their faves and those are the only ones they take care of and promote. Kristy Lee has been keeping herself out there and has a new label that seems to really be standing behind her and I pray that is true and she has a new song out. The song is called "Wherever Love Goes" and she sings it with Randy Houser. It is a really good song and Kristy sounds great. She looks stunning on the cover.

The song is on Randy's cd and he gets to start it off on her version she begins the song. Either way she sounds wonderful and she and Randy sound fab together.



I like both versions and will buy both.

Amber is currently on the American Idol Live tour with the rest of the Top 11. Tonight, they perform in Duluth, GA

Girlfriend, 19???? Honey that is just way too young. And during a time when MAYBE something big could happen career wise???? Tons of time in the future to have babies.

Oh my that is some serious news. Wow. She's so young too. I wish her the best but I don't this going well for her.

Keith will be my only reason to watch!    They had an opportunity to really revise this panel and wussed out! I'm disappointed!

Word is Randy is going to be on the show this season in some sort of fashion. Not as a judge but he will be there doing something.

I read the same thing about Randy being part of the season in some capacity. They said the same thing last year too and he ended up being a judge. Although, I think that was more in part to Mariah being on the panel.

So we will never be rid of Randy!

So much for a new and exciting new season!   Looks like same old same old to me!  

Yeah, these new PTB aren't doing much of anything to revamp the show and give it fresh blood. They just seem to do what those in charge always used to do before!
