Lambert's name has been kicking around for a couple of seasons now as a potential judge, and we're not quite sure why it hasn't happened yet. What better way to give the panel a shot in the arm than with someone who's experienced the competition from the other side? Think of the insight we'd get, not to mention the potential takeaways for contestants. Plus, he brings both pop and dance credibility to the table, and a youthful edge the panel sorely needs.

Man, I wish Rolling Stone could make decisions!!

Adam would definitely bring the youthful edge...and the super cool factor...that Idol so badly needs!! I think he, Jennifer and Keith would get along famously together!   This show needs a likeable panel, for pete's sake!   All the other shows have it; why can't they get with the program and complete the dang judges' table already!  

No he doesn't need American Idol!!!!!!!!!!!

I just watched "Nile Rodgers The Hit Maker Documentary", and let me tell you Adam is going to be okay, all he needs right now is Nile, he is in great company.

Rolling Stone is AWESOME!!!! Yep, if only they could make the decision!

It is official Harry is the new judge.

Boring panel.  They are paying J-Lo $17 million!!! Sickening!  She didn't do squat the first time around.  Now they are paying her more???  She just gushes, calls everyone baby and says "Goosies" all the time!  Oh, and promotes herself often. 

Harry is nice but not exactly current or exciting!

Keith - is is fine, but I was ready for someone new and exciting.

Oh well, Harry will be better than Nicki that is for sure!! God I couldn't stand her!!

Keith is fab, Harry is very good and he has always been a wonderful mentor so i think he will do fine. My peev is with Jennifer and that freaking 17 million. WTF??? She is not that good of a judge and why does she rate that much. She is a freaking millionaire and does not need that money if she was fighting for that much I would of said heck no and gone for someone who did what Keith did last season and this season and take a very low key amount. I believe Keith got to stay out of anybody cause he was a no drama guy and he never asked for a outragious payment for him to be on the panel.

The point is this panel is not going to do anything to up the ratings.  Harry is not going to bring in that young demographic that radio likes so much so the new season's winner probably won't get any airplay.  This judging panel is going to appeal to the middle aged folks - who already watch.

The younger folks are going to be watching The Voice.

Those two guys are as hip and exciting as Wonder bread!

Have you ever seen Keith at one of his concerts? the man gets down and also he has lots of young fans. The man is freaking gorgeous and his concerts sworm with women from teens to older.

Sorry but he won't ever be exciting to me, I detest country music.

He has been around for a long time now though.  By exciting I meant someone very current in the pop music scene.  Like FY, there is very, very little country music and very few country artists I care about.

At least only one member of the panel will be flaunting T & A.

 

Well I like Harry and I think he and Keith will offer some credible critiques and help the contestants.  They will make J-Lo look like the bimbo she is.

I am bummed that Adam didn't get the nod because no matter how the ratings may have dropped, being in front of many millions of people twice a week being witty, charming and gorgeous would not be a bad thing.......and he could have promoted his own music there unlike on Glee.

Anyhow.........I will watch for Harry and Keith.

I don't think badly of Jennifer in her career cause I can't lie I have three of her movies,(The Wedding Planner, Maid in Manhatten and The Backup Plan), which I love and I have one of her cd's,(first or second one), as well as a few singles from other cd's. I even have some of her clothing that is sold at Kohls. I believe she is a good actress, amazing dancer and pretty good singer. She is a shrewd business woman and I respect she goes after what she wants to do. I just get frustrated with her when she does this type of stuff knowing she doesn't need the money. She could of gone for a reasonable salory but no she fights for the highest amount and they fall over themselves giving it to her. It just seems greedy to me.

On the one hand I'm happy it's Harry and on the other I'm not so much. I've always felt Harry would be a good judge as he was a great mentor. He's funny and charming. He also knows a lot about music. I've wanted him in the past and so to have him be on this time is nice. It's certainly a welcomed change to what we had last year and to most of the ones we could have had this year instead that were supposedly in the running. The only reason I'm not as happy as I could be is that they never did follow through with the plan to truly RESHAPE the show by getting someone like Adam. It's a bit of a letdown, Still I'll be watching. I look forward to seeing how Harry and Keith feed off each other.

I agree with Angel on J-Lo.  I actually like her - mostly for what an amazing business woman she is. I have some of her tops from Kohls too.  So does my mom.  I just found her ineffective as a judge and not worth that kind of money.

I actually like some of her music especially the stuff with Pitbull like On The Floor. They play it efore the lacrosse games. She was just not a good judge. Really meh.

I like some of her music too.  I think she is a good entertainer.  I just didn't think she offered much as a judge and I don't get the point of bringing her back as a judge for even more money.  She didn't increase ratings before and will do so even less now since people already know how she is as a judge.  What happened to making a big change??

I was so looking forward to having former Idols as judges.  It would have been really fun and interesting and different.

Yes I was hoping for a former contestant too. I know I will like Keith and Harry but really not looking forward to JLo unless she is more honest and no more Goosies please. Maybe if they had of rought back Paula?

I swear I totally believe they backed off of using former idol alums cause they did not want to deal with the crazy fan wars that come with some of the idols alumni more over the top fans. All know they get freaking ugly and I doubt anybody from AI wanted to have to try to calm the war so to do that just not get any of them. Seriously when they picked Adam as a mentor over Kelly the original idol it got really ugly between some Kelly and Adam fans and things said of both idols was just rude and uncalled for.

If this is in any way the case I can understand it in a way.
