| Ricky's part was pre-taped as was the Judges section. Just chatting with a lady on FB who went to the taping. She just got home a short time ago. | |

| Oh I figured that as the stage was different for Ricky and the judges seats were not there. Plus the stage changed way too quickly. It fine. They packed so much music into those two hours so they had to do that. In the past there had been way too much filler in between with dumb clips of bad auditions and skits. I'll take all the great music over that any day! | |

| I'm fine with Nick winning. I figure if any of them will have a career after the show, it's Nick. He's good enough to make it after the AI stuff has ended and it has been years since any of the contestants have gone anywhere. | |

| Well, I hope you are right. The show needs another success story. I personally do not see anything special or unique or interesting or edgy about him. But time will tell..... | |

| Very few have the big success right away. Look at Adam, it has taken 5 years and while he had success it hasn't been big success (for his solo career) yet. He appears to be on the verge now but we still don't know. I think many have nice careers and are able to make a good living with their music......only a handful are big stars. | |

| I think Adam hurt his chance at early super success both with the AMA performance and the album cover plus being gay didn't help him. I think if he were straight, knocked it out the park on the AMAs and had a non-flamboyant over the top Album cover AND if the first single were not sexual, he probably would have had big success faster. But he is the 4th wealthiest Idol contestant so he ain't hurting It is cool though to finally have a winner from the Northeast! If Jax had made the finals they both would have been Northeast! Nice to have that part of the country represented. Cookie and Lee were from the Midwest (Lee from Illinois - Rob's home town even) so that was cool. There is a breakdown in a thread at IDF that shows that not only have most winners and runner-ups been from the south but also most of the Top 7 in all but two seasons were from the south!! Now tell me those folks don't vote their little hearts out for southerners And FWIW - I voted for a lot of those southerners too What is cool is that Sawyer on The Voice is from the Northeast and is expected to win so those folks are having a good year! As far as Nick - he seems a really good guy and he is talented. He was not my pick and I am disappointed some of the more edgy/interesting contestants didn't go farther, but he makes a fine winner and I wish him all the best. Some artists really grab me big time, like Sawyer and Joey, and Jax, but Nick just didn't do that for me. Maybe he will get some killer songs on his albums. I will check the snippets of his album when it comes out. And I will continue to check on Joey and Jax to see if they get signed by anybody. | |

| Last nights show was one of the best finale's IMO.
No stinker performances.
Highlights for me Ricky Martin with the Q's
Nick's coronation and the his loosing it singing in front of the judges. What a ride for him. Form constantly critiqued in the early rounds to winner. On MJ's they are saying he is the darkest of the dark horses to win. I still think that honor goes to Kris Allen. He beat two Goliaths.
Often time the early front runner doesn't win especially if the do not pick up voters from those voted off. Nick did. Very humble, handsome, kind and caring to his other contestants and lots of personality. Not to forget very handsome.
He also took all critique with his ears open and embraced it. Open to grow and do what ever it took to win.
He was obviously kind to all his fellow competitors and encouraging. They all loved him.
While I every much wanted a Quentin/Jax finale. Last night was so good.
Jax is a sweetheart. Love her and I would bet that Scott signs her. Hoping he signs Quentin as well. Also that Pit bull and his Urban label saw how gifted a performer Quassim was.
Joey was also frigging fabulous. Her voice is instantly recognizable. I hope some Indy label gives her a shot.
In my opinion last nights finale was one of the best in years.
Praying Scott signs Jax, Joey and Quentin.

| Very nice. I just don't like that one line "This could be the last night of our lives". I would prefer BEST night for the soccer thing. Not a soccer fan or watcher so I won't see it much But good luck to the team and Nick with the song. I do NOT want it to sell more than HOME though! | |

| Last night of our lives applies (as per soccer Mom me) you loose you go home (lives) or you win and you continue.

| I like that song more and more. I like the video more than the live performances because there is so much going on on live AI that I can't concentrate. Nick's voice really is good and current. I predict he is going to be one of the big ones. He is very handsome, too. I'm shallow that way, but it makes a difference to me. | |

| HA! I am not happy Canear. I had 4 faves and none made it to the finals and 3 didn't even make the tour. So for me, a sad end to the season. I just preferred Nick to Clark but I am not into him either. I won't be buying that song. Like I said, I will check out the snippets of his album to see what direction Scott took him in. He seems a nice guy with a sweet family so from that standpoint I wish him well.
I am far more interested in Adam's new album too! And the Kris Allen CD that will arrive here tomorrow! It IS good people!!!

| I hope they are allowed to pull out all the stops for next season. Go back to the show's roots and ditch the format from this year. It sucked. Go back to two nights, an hour a night. Have a separate results night again. Get rid of the chairs that light up. Let them go back and live in a mansion. It would be nice if they could bring Simon back at some point. It really started going downhill when he left. Most of all they need to bring back as much of the alumni as they can. Definitely the winners and runners-up need to be there.....and the controversial early exits like James, Daughtry and so on. | |

| I so agree with every word of that post!!!!
And please do NOT screw over the 3rd place finisher!!!! Not only didn't she get to perform after all that rehearsing but 3rd place always gets screwed out of the whole press cycle because everything is about the top 2. My heart breaks for her....
BUT!!! Joey tweeted she is the opening act for the first 6 tour dates!!! Good for her!!! She will have a blast!

| This show has made FOX a ton of money over years. They can darn well afford to let them go back to two nights for one last season!
They should really release a list of who is going to open some shows. It might make a difference to some people as to buying a ticket!

| Hey, did anyone here see an interview with Clark after the show? I have seen some posts indicating he made it look like he did NOT want to work with Scott. Idol Forums has been down all day so I cannot check his thread for videos. | |

| I just bought Takin It To The Streets - from The Doobie Brothers. Had that song on an album many years ago. Always loved it. I had Michael McDonald albums too. I will be downloading some of his stuff from Prime over the weekend. It was wonderful seeing and hearing him again last night. | |

| I haven't had the chance to watch the entire show all the way through from start to finish but I've caught a good majority of it. Here are some of my thoughts.
1) YAY NICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am beyond thrilled for him!! I love his song. It's very Fun like in sound. I will indeed be following him and I look forward to hearing what his album is going to sound like. Congratulations Nick!
2) OMG, that NKOTB performance was a mess. They can do so much better than that. It was so disjointed and did not flow like I know it can and has before. Daniel being a part of it was so odd and hysterical. I love my guys but damn I wish they could have been spared having to do that. Could they honestly not have gotten a group more Daniel's speed?? Yikes.
3) Keith Urban you're so damn awesome and gorgeous. GAH! One day I will see that man again live.
4) RICKY!!!!!!!!!!!!! He sure does get even more hot with age. He rocked that performance and the guys were great with him. I cannot wait to see him in September!
5) Jamie Foxx and Rayvon were wonderful together. Jamie's voice is like butter. So good. Beautiful performance. So pretty.
6) Joey is definitely a Cool Kid indeed. Great match up for her. I loved it. She looked adorable. It was so nice to see her again. I've missed her!
7) The girls and Nile Rodgers were great fun. Love that disco 70's awesomeness!!!
8) I definitely enjoyed and liked this judges performance with Keith, Harry and Jennifer much more than the one from last year. I loved the second half when they did Locked Out of Heaven from Bruno Mars. That was fun. I could just stare at Keith rocking that guitar all day long.
9) I love Prince Royce. Fun song! It made want to get up and dance. I really enjoyed that performance.
10) Clark and Michael McDonald were a good match up!
11) I've known about Andy Grammer for a while now but I never really checked him out. Now I wish I had. Alex and Sierra toured with him earlier this year for a couple of months. I'm so pissed at myself for not going because it would have been such a fun show. If they tour again I'm not missing it! Loved Nick and Andy together. So fun and cheerful!!!! LOVED IT!
12) I could not get through the Janelle Monae and Adanna performance. I stopped the video a little more than a minute in. Yuck.

| I agree with you on most all of that! I usually like Janelle but that was an odd number. I left the room and talked to Rob Indeed that whole thing with Daniel was a TOTAL MESS!! Like I said in my post last night - go to college sweetie. But the guys seemed to get a kick out of him. He is adorable. | |
