AMERICAN IDOL SEASON 14

I love Jax and Joey.  Don't care for Clark.

I thought last night's performances were pretty good. It was one of the strongest weeks if not the strongest so far. I was surprised by the arrangements of some of the songs and how they were able to make them work for them.

Rayvon deserved to stay after his performance. He did really well capturing another side of the song and interpreting it. I liked it.

Daniel was a complete and utter MESS. I'm so glad he was the one to go especially after butchering one of Kelly's greatest songs.

Joey got right back on track with this week's performance after the misstep of last week. She was really good.

Jax did exactly what I hoped she would do this week. She really needed to strip away the other stuff IMO. I thought it was her best thus far.

Qaasim might have struggled a bit and revealed his weaknesses more but I appreciate that he tried. I give him kudos for going out there to display more than just the happy dance showman entertainer on the stage despite that being when he's at his strongest.

Nick gave another strong solid performance. I see him breaking down the walls bit by bit.

Tyanna's struggle is her age. She doesn't have the emotional experience to properly express and convey the emotion in a song that heavily calls for it. There's some there but not enough. She's a strong girl though and she hasn't really cracked or wilted under the pressure as far as I can see. She might be losing some steam as the weeks have gone by but I have faith she'll pick it right back up. She gave a good performance.

Clark certainly got a little carried away towards the end of the song. It got a bit rough around the edges from him pushing more than he really needed to but I don't think it was a bad performance. The emotion was there. He was invested. I really enjoyed him.

Quentin was fab. That's all that needs to be said about him.

Kelly was GREAT. I love her. Love. Love. Love.

Great synopsis Teddy!  I probably won't get to see the show again next week so I will need everyone's opinions. 

I'm not sorry that Daniel left.  He was too young for the competition but hopefully it gave him some valuable experience that he can use if he intends to pursue a career in music.


AIH, I like Jax and Joey fine, they're just not my favs.  As per usual, I lean towards the male singers.

Canear, more folks are with you in your Clark love. He is leading every poll by a large margin.

Quassim is lowest but I do hope Rayvon goes.

I want Quassim around to kill it with his dancing.

Thanks canear. I had one written out Wednesday evening but when I went to post poof it disappeared. I had more to say on some of them but I couldn't remember it all.

Ok Scott is considering signing several contestants and Clark isn't one of them.

Maybe that is because he is so far in the lead, Scott knows he will win?

Or maybe like most of us here Clark leaves him cold even though he is technically perfect?

But in the very beginning he raved about Clark.  I think he feels Clark will win.  Boring to me, but whatever.

FC, I do not think Scott is overly impressed with technical voices.

Tyanna has fallen out of my top 5. She has the voice but has lost her presence. She is reminding me more and more of Pia. Great vocalist but meh so what.

Scott more than Jimmy seems to know what is current and sells.

I do not get Rayvon but I do not listen to R&B stations who knows maybe he would fair well there.

IMO in a idol world where uniqueness and sales ability were considered Jax and Quentin would be final 2 with Joey 3rd, Nick 4.

Or Nick 3 and Joey 4.

But that will never happen on Idol.

Quentin will probably leave in two weeks. After Quassim this week.

Or it will be Quassim, Rayvon and then Quentin, then Nick

Then Joey, then Tyanna leaving Jax vs Clark in the finale.

I think Clark is good but he doesn't move me. He reminds me of Taylor but I think Taylor had more soul and personality even though he wasn't my favorite the season he was on. Taylor didn't sell very well even with the Soul Patrol behind so maybe Scott is looking at that.

I like R&B and I don't see Rayvon there. He always makes me yawn. Toooo soothing a voice and I don't like his falsetto. If he could bring some energy like Bruno Mars maybe he could break into R&B.

Scott is going to sign whoever he thinks will sell records. It's probably much too soon now to know who that might be.

Kate, I enjoyed Taylor a lot on the show.  No I didn't buy his albums.  My folks did though.  But he had so much personality and really felt the music.  He is doing super well in Vegas!!  He made 5 million dollars last year alone!  He is laughing all the way to the bank!  Good for him!

My final 3 would be Jax, Joey and Quentin.  Any combo of those 3 for final 2 would thrill me.  But Clark is going to spoil that.

He won't spoil it for me! 

Spirit, you are right.  Scott isn't working on the show for the good of his health.  It's all about the $$ for him. m

Oh, I think Scott has been in the Music Biz long enough to know what music sells and what doesn't.

How many times has he said he hopes that a perfect voice doesn't win this year?

Clark has a perfect voice technically as does Rayvon. I doubt Scott was thinking about either of them, when he made that comment.

FC I would love Joey, Jax and Quentin as final 3. That would be so interesting and entertaining.

Of course I would like Quentin to advance to the finale vs either Jax or Joey.

Unless Clark has a huge tumble he will be in the finale. I believe it will be vs Jax or Joey but as Quentin has been gaining fans hopefully he continues to wow and keeps in it.

I have Taylor's cd's   Love him.  He has sooooooooooooo much soul and personality!  Simon was sooooooooooooooo wrong about him and it makes me laugh cause Simon has to live with that every day of his life   Taylor is proving all his haters wrong and laughing all the way to the bank!

Kate on Taylor's first cd.  It went Gold like really quick and it also went platinum.  I can say one thing on that cd even though I loved it it was not Taylor.  If you have heard his two independent cd's that he did before he did idol you would see that the record company tried to make Taylor too pop and not soulful enough.  There is like three songs on the cd that are totally Taylor but the others aren't and cause of that a lot of the Soul Patrol was put off.  Manyt did not want to put money into a project that was forced onto Taylor.  Taylor has said many times that he and the label got into tiffs over the direction of the cd and that he had to shut his mouth a lot of the time cause things he wanted to say would of got him in trouble.  He knows who he is and what his sound is but he knows he had to compromise a lot.

Still have not seen one show this season. You guys think there is anybody I would really like and i mean really like.(like I like Kris, Adam, George, Taylor, David A., Chris Daughtry, Kelly, Diana, Angie, Carrie and so on)?

I think you would like a few of the singers this year. So much variety. I love Quentin and Joey the best but everyone is good except Daniel who is thankfully gone.

Angel this group is very unique. If you love Taylor you may love Clark. Most of the old Soul Patrol loves Clark.

If you love Adam's drama and say Prince or Lenny Kravitz you will love Quentin.

If you would like an even more Jazzy Haley you would love Joey.

If You love Chris you may love Nick. They sound a lot a like.

So you have a lot to choose from.

Jax is also good and Rayvon not to me but many like him.

Quassim can perform like no other on Idol. His dancing is incredible.

It's a really good group this season!  I am enjoying.

I agree about Quassim's song...........I think that Clark will do the Sam Smith song.

I listened to Latch and unless there is another version, that could get Quentin sent home.

America will not like it.
