2014 Winter Olympics

Everyb Canadian of a certain age remembers Tretiak LoL. Our teacher allowed us to watch the final in grade school. Such a huge moment in Canadian hockey.

I remember Irina very well. The time the music stopped playing but she and her partner continued on. Dick Button was having fits doing the commentary LoL. One of the biggest standings ovations I have ever seen in figure skating.

Yes Sage was so good in the final round. I thought Maxence Parrot would get silver but nope. Judging sometimes strange.

The USA uniforms were cute out of all USA uniforms they have had for Olympics I have loved the years they got them from the Canadian clothes group Roots. I believe it was 2002 and 2006.

The ceremonies were pretty. I was sad to see that Ekaterina Gordeeva wasn't one of the athletes picked for the torch part. When I think Russian and Olympics I think Gordeeva and Grinkov two time gold medal pairs team!

I have heard of her but never saw her and her partner skate. By the way I wasn't implying one of those people being replaced I just hoped Katia world of been included in this. She and Sergei were so special and when Sergei died it was just sooooooooooooooooo sad.

Angel, there have been so many iconic figure skaters from Russia it must have been a very difficult decision to make.

Gold & Silver  for Canada in Moguls!!! Plus they are sisters. Incredible story as their other sister was also in the event but didn't get to the final six.

Kate you forgot to mention that Hannah Kearney from New Hampshire finished 3rd.

She had the fastest times in the first and third rounds and the difference was a mere 100's of a second between Gold and Bronze.

Congrats to the Canadian sisters.  

The USA Sage Kotsenburg won GOLD in the Snowboarding slop style first ever event .

Just wish Shaun White had not withdrawn.

Darn I missed it!  I had to go out to get groceries.  How awesome!!  I wonder if that has ever happened before.  Congrats to Hannah as well!  

Well I wasn't impressed with Shaun pulling out of that event.  If McMorris could do it with a broken rib, Shaun could have done it.  It was a spot wasted for the US since another guy could have competed if Shaun had decided before the Games.  Anyhow .............

I was just so pumped the two sisters came on one and two. Yes if Shaun was sure of doing slope style before the Olympics it would have been nice to let a hot dogged tale the spot. All the guys were crazy good that were in the finals.

Canear Shaun is a lot older then Mark though. Mark is just 20 and a Crazy Canuck from Saskatchewan lo'?

On the tablet is hard to copy and paste so couldn't send the names of the sisters. Trying to learn how it all works but no real manual comes with electronics anymore.

I have to figure out how to copy and paste on the tablet too. No manual at all comes with them   

Have you ever tried to copy and paste on your phone FC? It should be the same on your tablet. Whatever you're trying to copy/paste hold down your finger over it and a pair of arrows should appear. Carefully stretch and drag the arrows using your fingers to go up or down and side to side. Then press the copy button that should be above the arrows. When you go to post hold your finger down in the post box and the paste button should appear. Press it and whatever you copied should instantly show in the post box.

Irina Rodnina won gold three times with two different partners. The first one fell in love with another skater and they decided to pair up professionally although they didn't do it officially for another season. She won her first gold medal with him and the next two with her new partner.

HA! Teddy, I was just coming here to post that! I Googled and got instructions. I tried it and can do it. It takes a little more work than on the desktop or laptop.

BTW, Rob fixed my laptop!!! I am using it now! I have to be super careful how I move it/carry it and I am not to close it. Rob thinks Alice sitting on it is what broke it. If I put it down on the bed and go to the bathroom Alice ALWAYS lays on the keyboard.

Darn Alice. Glad Rob was able to fix it.

It's a good thing they are so cute or they would get booted out!!

Stupid judges   Meryl and Charlie were freaking amazing on that ice dance and their score should of been higher. They got the USA to number three for the teams and that is great but the judges need to be fair and score correctly. There was not a single flaw in that dance. I have not seen a skate with that much freedom on the ice since Michelle Kwan skated to Lyra Angelica at the 98 US Nationals. Meryl and Charlie were breath taking.

I completely agree Angel. They deserved a higher score. There was nothing wrong with that program.

Ashley was so wonderful there!!  She better get a good score even though the second jump was under rotated she was still so on.

Ugh just saw her score they hammered her cause of the under rotation.  She will have to have that be perfected when the ladies event starts.

Wow that little russian is amazing and i loved that program. That ending spin was like Woah. Sasha Cohen eat your heart out.

I really like Mao Asada but she should not be ahead of Ashley with that huge fall. Yes she was going for a Triple axel but sandra explained that Mao would not get credit for that and it would be like downgraded to like a different jump. Ashleys artisty was really really god and was up their with mao for this showing. I honestly just don't get how people mark these days.

Scott and Sandra going on and on about Carolina Kostner and I just don't get it. Carolina is a good skater but to me her artistry is not up there with Michelle, Kristi, Nicole and Sasha. I do give props that she has improved greatly and she is no longer all gangly and arm and leg girl. sorry just not a fan of hers.

Yeah, they really did hammer Ashley on the under rotation. I haven't been the biggest fan of Ashley's but she owned that program tonight despite the small bubbles. I have not been impressed with the judges scoring in this event. They better get their stuff together and be fair in the individual events or it's going to royally tick me off. Mao scoring higher with that huge fall didn't make any sense to me whatsoever. The Russian girl was impressive. The spin was simply magnificent.
