Wow. I'm glad he's getting this second chance. Hopefully it all works out for all involved.

I love the sound of that tribute album. I adored Michael Hutchence. It was a sad day when he died. Adam sort of reminds me of him but Adam is a much happier person than I think Michael ever was.

As far as I know, JD is still a guest singer and maybe he'll get more guest shots. INXS performed at the Olympics last night. JD looks good and sounds good. It appears he's gotten himself together.

They were nuts to get rid of JD. They will never find a better replacement for Micheal. It is like JD was born for that purpose.

I agree, but.........INXS is an old band they can't tour forever. JD had some real issues, ones I don't think they wanted to go through again..... They say their next CD will be with guest singers.........I can't imagine that selling well. Personally, the music is old.....been there, done that, get some new stuff. JD did sound good though and looked good, but I'm over that obsession.

Oh yes, I am long over him too. I wish him well. Just that he does an awesome job with the old INXS stuff.

I cannot imagine them having a big hit on their hands with the multi-guest singers on the CD.

Funny that they should include a link to his site, you can't go anywhere there. It's poorly designed. Only the ones that shelled out $250 for a lifetime membership have full access.

Well that is all cool for JD!

A new TV series called Miami Medical will have a few promo ads and they will feature a song by JD Fortune.........

Me too. Hearing him sing both with INXS the other night and for this show promo reminds me of his wonderful voice and talent that just so should not be wasted. I wish he could find peace in his life. He seems to always be fighting demons.

JD joined INXS in Australia, this site has 2 songs they did together. I don't know anything else, since I don't follow him.

He sure has an awesome voice! I still feel sad that things have not worked out better for JD. Handsome and talented guy. Such a waste.

I'm not sure what all this means, but not only did he sing with INXS in Australia.....he plans on joining them for their SA tour.

INXS to play Lima in September

Lima, Jun. 30 (ANDINA). Australian rock band INXS -consisting of brothers Andrew, Tim and Jon Farris, Kirk Pengilly, Gary Gary Beers and JD Fortune- will visit Lima to perform a spectacular concert in September.
Although the date of the concert will be officially announced next week, the press indicated that the owners of New Sensation and Devil Inside will perform in the country as part of their South American tour.

This time, the band will present their new frontman, J.D. Fortune, winner of the Rock Star: INXS reality show, from the US television network CBS.

INXS has won six Australian Recording Industry Association awards including three for 'Best Group' in 1987, 1989 and 1992, and was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2001. To date the Sydney-based band has sold more than 30 million records.


INXS concert goes off

An outdoor concert with iconic Aussie band INXS capped off a perfect day yesterday (Saturday) at the Sucrogen Townsville 400.

A charismatic JD Fortune led the original members of INXS to play the band’s contemporary song Pretty Vegas along with classic hits including Need You Tonight.

INXS played a slower, acoustic version of Don’t Change before ending the concert with a live one of the original.

DJ Fortune threw a sweaty towel into the audience at one stage, which was quickly snapped up by an eager fan and the lead singer later told the crowd it was not worth being miserable because life was long.

At the end of the concert, band members threw guitar picks and drum sticks out to the crowd and Fortune described the adoring Townsville crowd as like one big family.

Brad Jones, whose team runs the Trading Post Racing, Team BOC and Fair Dinkum Commodores, has known some of the band members for years.

His team gave INXS members rides around the Townsville street circuit on Friday and the band reciprocated by inviting him to watch the concert from the wings.

“They came and had a ride in the car and then said why don’t you come and have a look at the concert,” Jones explained.

“I’ve been to a few INXS concerts over the years from the other side of the fence as well, even before I knew the guys, so it was a great opportunity to be up there, like we were right there.

“They just put on such a good show; they’re such good entertainers.”

Jones doubts anyone in the crowd, which V8 Supercars estimated at 13,000, left the concert disappointed.

“I think everyone certainly enjoyed themselves,” a rapt Jones said.

“What I found interesting was when I stood there I knew the words to just about every song they sang and when they did Pretty Vegas which was their latest hit, you could almost see the generation change in the crowd.

“I found it really interesting because the people more my vintage know (all of the songs) and you could see them in the crowd singing along and stuff, and when they did Pretty Vegas all the young people absolutely went off.”

Jones is a self-confesed INXS fan from way back.

“It’s funny how it all works really but I met the guys in the band a long time ago, like 1994 so it was great to have myself and my son on the side of the stage and it was fantastic,” he said.

The former V8 Supercar driver said watching the concert from the sidelines was also a novelty for him for a different reason.

“It was interesting from my perspective because in my job you always leave your helmet on and you see the crowd, but you don’t really see the crowd, and to be that close and feel that energy coming out of the crowd was amazing,” Jones said.

“I thought they did a great job and the crowd clearly was enjoying it; it was great and the concert just went off.”

Interesting! Well, I would love to see JD get back with them on a steady basis. I really still wish good things for him.

My mom asked me about JD the other day when I was talking to her about Lukas. She wasn't surprised to hear that things went downhill for him or that they had a falling out. She said she could tell something was going to go wrong with him. I told her that he's been trying to find his way again. With this news it looks like he might just be. I hope things look up for him even more as time goes on.

Me too. He is a gorgeous and talented man. Just has a lot of demons he struggles with.

Oh that is so nice! I am glad that he has some good in his life right now. Poor guy has sure had his ups and downs.

Self-induced downs. I hope he seriously has gotten some help and sticks with the program. I'm sure INXS hopes for the best too. I also heard he has plans for North America this year. I have no desire to go to another INXS concert though.
