I finally heard from my nephew in Chile he and his family are okay they live in the north part of the country and they weren't affected that much, some of his family members in the south loss their homes but thanks God they are all safe.

I am sorry some of his family lost their homes - but at least they are alive and have each other! That's most important!

We've been hovering around the freezing mark this week but the sun has been out and it's been quite lovely for the beginning of March. I don't think we'll be getting spring here for at least another month!

Yep - we have been right around the freezing mark too. After so long of that middle 40s really truly feels like spring - especially when the sun is shining and it's not windy!

My mom was taken to the ER yesterday. She was sitting down drinking some coffee when her nose started to bleed. She went to get some tissue and by the time she got to the bathroom blood was pouring out like crazy from both nostrils. Very large clots too. It got worse and worse. Her bathroom looked like a pig was slaughtered in it. She called 911 and they couldn't stop it. They saw the bathroom and said there was at least 30 units of blood on the floor. Her shirt was covered in it. Her blood pressure was through the roof. They took her to the hospital. There they cauterized something up in her nose to get it stop. They are not sure what happened. She is on 3 blood thinners for her heart problems so who knows if that was it. She was able to come home last night - but she was told to stay low and go back to the doctor next week. I will be over there with her today.

It just never ends.

OMG! I'm so sorry. Poor thing must have been terrified. She is on 3 blood thinners????????? Holy smokes. I sure hope they can figure out why so that it doesn't happen again.

She was terrified! She was crying when she called me and told me she had just called 911. She said her heart was beating out of her chest. That's why her PB was soooo high! She thought she was dying.

Yes she is. And Plavix. Plus 4 baby aspirin a day.

Yes it is! She is also on Lenoxin and has been for years. Sadly after many years it becomes toxic to you and they have to keep cutting the dosage down. It destroys your kidneys.

That is what happened to my dad at the end. He was filling up with water - but they couldn't give him the Lenoxin because his kidneys were failing.
