OMG Sky...I just saw your son and his family's wonderful photos...What a gorgeous group of people! I thought your son must be a celeb at first before I backtracked and saw who he is! And your grandkids are beautiful too...you have some great protoplasm going on in your family milady!!! You must be a gorgeous lady yourself... I knew you were beautiful on the inside already!

Aw, you're too kind. I am not gorgeous.............far from it. Lucky for my boys, they inherited more of the Greek genes! Funny out of my 4 GK, my GD is the only one with the dark hair and brown eyes! She did get a pair of very long skinny legs and that comes from both her parents and me.

I never got to the doctor today because it snowed I was afraid to go out and walk on the snow and/or ice. And it felt better so I just did not go. Thanks to everyone for your good wishes and concern. And happy New Year to everyone

Well the last few hours I have been in the house next door...went outside to watch the usual fireworks at midnight & the Latvian family next door dragged me in....gave me huge plates of Latvian food...played me Latvian music...& showed me pictures of Latvia!!! They really are a nice family...but I couldn't get away!! I did however...avoid the vodka!!!!!
As for the time before that...errrr....kinda been in Drifty World It's nearly 4am here in 2010....I'm guessing I'm out of the noughties....& into the teenies...hmmm that sounds a tad wrong!!!!

Well, laydees, I am out of here for a little while. Hubby is scheduled for a laminectomy ( cervical spine fusion) tomorrow and we are leaving tonight to get a hotel and be at the hospital in a neighboring city at the crack of dawn tomorrow.

This should be an adventure... Hopefully will be back tomorrow evening. I am gearing up for my nurse maid stint.

He's having some of his vertebrae fused.

Yes, I looked it up after HL posted. I just wonder what the problem was - backaches? Neck issues?

One of my daycare dads had back/neck surgery and it was a long recovery time for him.

I remember a while back HL mentioned he was having back issues. I hope it goes well for him. My nephew has had a fusion.

We got back home last night and hubby is doing really well. Eating, moving around fine, and minimal pain.They fused the C-5 and C-4 vertebrae in his spine with a device that releases the nerve that was being impinged and causing him chronic shoulder pain and some of the numbness in his hands. He will probably need it done again for some other vertebrae in his spine because he has the same problem in other areas...but, this was not a huge deal from how it has gone so far. He will be off work for a 1-2 weeks, and possibly on a reduced work load/schedule for a month or so.

I hope I wished everyone who is ailing best wishes for a speedy recovery.There was NN, I know. I hope I didn't forget anyone. I finally got to the doctor today and he said the ankle is bruised, no breaks. Thank goodness. It is many colors Just keep babying it and come back in two weeks!
