| I always keep a running tally of how many trick or treaters we get, so I can prepare for next year. I was surprised we had as many as we did, but not unusual to have that many. | |

| Had a boatload of trick or treaters last night. Every time there was a knock on the door, I had to scoop up my doggie, tiny little Mikey, so that he wouldn't run out. He was a good boy, though. Let the children pet him, if they wanted. I had to turn out the lights by about 8:15 or so. I was out of stock! And, I tell ya, I had a lot of stock! | |

| Just got back from Fry's. I needed to replace my Printshop program for the computer, since my old one never worked with Vista and now that I have Win7, I need a new program! Of course hubby needed a new game and we Nathan with us, so he got a new game! It's robbery what they charge for this stuff. Anyway, I'm loving Win7. It has some really good perks and it's pretty snappy. | |

| What's new here...........after weeks of fretting and days of backing up files, we installed Win7 on my computer. I love it!! I didn't have to worry so much, even though we backed up everything............everything was still intact! Win7 has snappy response, a lot of new features, and it lost some things, but you can put them in if you still want them. There are a couple of programs I will either have to replace or do without, since they won't work with Win7, but then they didn't work with Vista either! No biggy, I've already replaced one of them. | |

| Good to know about Win7, Sky. I have Windows Vista and it meets our basic home computer needs since I don't work from home and mainly do recreational stuff on the computer. Have'nt really gotten into downloading music and stuff. I guess I spend so much time sitting in front of the computer at work, I opt to try and limit how much time I spend on it at home. Although, I spend way too much time surfing the net anyway... | |

| I've got Vista and I honestly haven't had any issues at all - so I guess it works for my needs. | |

| I didn't have a problem with Vista either, just a few annoying things, nothing major. With my new computer, we had the option to get Win7, so we did. They will more than likely stop any support for Vista in the future so making the move now with a new computer just made sense. I make my own greeting cards sometimes and my PrintShop did not work with Vista and no patches were going to be issued to make it work with Vista. This program we had to replace. Also my MS Digital Image was kind of 'wonky' with Vista and my Kodak software. I'm not sure which one I will replace to try to fix. | |

| Sounds like the best move for you Sky. Why won't Microsoft be offering support for Vista anymore? | |

I still have XP & updates are still available - I daresay it'll be XP that will be the first to be "abandoned". It is annoying though - they have us all over a barrel.I try to be so careful with firewalls/anti virus stuff - but when the OS could be a security threat by itself because they can't be bothered to "spend money" on it....GRRRRR!!!

First it will be XP and I'm sure Vista will follow, because Vista has never really been a great OS for MS.

They'll probably always have updates.........for any of the OS just not a bunch of tech support. I'm not saying when, just grumblings I've read. I didn't have any qualms about XP or Vista, but so far I love Win7.

| As much as I enjoyed my son, DIL, 2 grandkids visit for Thanksgiving........my house is now quiet!!!!!!!!!!! What a whirlwind long weekend! My house is never as noisy as it has been the last few days, and I don't like a noisy house, Wii games to loud, computer games to loud, kids screaming, running. However, now we will have the other two GK for 3 days/nights since our son works, and DIL has to go to Portland, OR to be with her best friend for a few days, because her friends mother committed suicide on Thanksgiving. What a sad, shocking bit of news that was for everyone. | |

| That is tragic for your DIL's best friend!!!
I hope she gets all the support she needs to get through this awful time! Do you know the reason for her mother taking such a drastic step?

| No, they don't. It was a total shock. She did leave a note, went to her office, lined up her pill bottles and overdosed on all of them. I think when they start to unravel some of the clues, a reason will be there. It could have been a new medication, a combination of medication, job issues........they just don't know. It's very tragic. The look on my GS and DIL's faces when they came home with the news was heartbreaking. A tough situation for my 8 yr. old to comprehend. They had been out shopping when my DIL received the call. | |

| I am so sorry to hear that Sky. What a terrible thing for DIL best friend to deal with. Thanksgiving will never be the same for that poor family. Sending thoughts and prayers out to them. | |

It's tragic, and the worst of it that those who loved her are left to pick up the pieces. :(

| Finally got all my Christmas up! I was off Fri so I got a ton done that day. Then Colin was in a wedding yesterday so we had to shop for him a suit last week. He looked so grown and handsome. | |
