ADAM - QUESTIONABLE DECISIONS?

Have to agree with Jacee and Canear!! No doubt Adam is a star and on his way to more but he still has a bit a ways to go. Adam to me right now is like where Backstreet Boys and Nsync were at their First US Cd's. Both groups of course were from the US but were taken overseas first. They got SO POPULAR QUICKLY overseas then they were released in the states. They were taken overseas first cause the US honestly was not excepting them. BSB was first. No one in the states was really taking them serious. After many years overseas when they came back to the US with their First cd's both groups started to get looked at more. For BSB they became bonafide Superstars with their second US cd Millenium and with Nsync it was when they put out their second cd No Strings Attatched. Both groups were selling out concerts at Madison Square Garden as far as places in Australia and farther.

BSB still sells out huge concerts. I have no doubt this BSB/NKOTB tour is going to make a huge killing. Combining fanbases!

Also when we talk Superstar think Garth Brooks. It took Garth and his second cd really to get him that Superstar label. Garth can pack them in anywhere. Remember the concert in Central Park that was aired in Ney York City. The WHOLE Freaking park was taken over. Also I think Garth is one of the only entertainers around that can get people to fork over 200 dollars to see him. To see his show in Vegas it was about 120 dollars and now the venue has made it 100 dollars more and there are people who are paying that price. Yes Garth is country but that man is pure entertainment and puts on one of the best shows around. Garth has had 3 or 4 totally sold out WORLD TOURS.

Also Josh Groban is a world wide Superstar who Can sell out shows at Londons Royal Albert Hall to New Yorks Carnagie Hall and Madison Square Garden to LA's The Greek and other huge places. Josh pretty much became Huge after his cd Closer and the song You Raise Me Up even though people already adored him for "To Where You Are" from his first cd. His amazing Christmas cd went Quintuple,(sp?), Platinum meaning that thing went Platinum five times over. His regular cd's have sold more than that.

I honestly should put in Celine Dion from Canada here even though she started getting massive attention in the US with her very first cd. She is for sure world wide superstar.


Adam is for sure on his way to greatness but he has to conquer some things still and one of them is US radio. Lots of Adam fans are complaining cause the stations will not play him. When Adam's songs are played all over the place and when he is nominated for the big awards IN THE US then he will be a bonafide superstar world wide.

Just give him a chance. Adam will never be a one-dimensional performer. He likes to deliver what we least expect. I wouldn't follow him very closely if he became a performer that becomes more shocking and sexual with every tour. But I think that's what he is doing THIS tour, I think because he wants to establish that a gay guy CAN do it. Next album and next tour may be entirely different. I want to see what develops.

I hope you're right Spirit because while he may garner the success overseas being so sexual, he will not get it on this side of the ocean. Maybe it's enough for him this way, who knows, but I think it would be a terrible waste of his talents if he settled for this level of success.

I don't think it would be enough for him. I don't think Adam would sacrifice his career in order to be so sexual on stage. He is too smart and ambitious and talented for that. That's why I'm taking a wait-and-see approach.

But, we know Adam is always going to be a different kind of entertainer. He will have an edge. He'll always give people something to talk about, no matter what. So we may as well accept that.

Words and expressions get used so much that after a while they don't mean much. I guess superstar has become anyone that is popular, it didn't use to be that way. I am thinking of those names that everyone knows even though they may never have seen them, they know who they are they are that big.

I will be around checking out what Adam is doing. If he does something different that I would like then that will be great, I am not counting on it. I really was so dissappointed with the way this tour went and sometimes you just have to accept that you may not be the audience that someone is after. I would like to be wrong.

I can so relate. My show in Toronto was very early in the tour and he hadn't had the time to incorporate so much of the raunchiness that there is now. He barely kissed Tommy. If it had stayed like that I would have been ecstatic. Anyhow......we all know how it is today. I'm curious to see and hear what his second CD will be like. I will always love the voice but the performance style we'll have to see what the future holds.

I was watching GMA yesterday Josh Groban was on promoting his new CD he said it took him two years because he wanted to do something really good.

Adam is expected to put a new Cd this Spring...........I hope he gets hold of some really good music this time something that the masses will appreciate and radio will promote.

If I were Adam I would take a good chunk of time and use it wisely to work and give towards making the next CD. I love the idea of new music in late Spring or early Summer but I really want him to take his time with it. So if that means we'll have to wait a couple months more than so be it. I want it to be really great and really successful. I personally feel that the 2nd CD can either make or break a performer. I've seen it go both ways many times. I'd be thrilled if it were the latter for Adam. I want it to just be a huge success and get him where I know he can be. He's definitely on his way,

I don't get the impression that Adam really has any choice. If RCA wants a new CD in the Spring and if Simon Fuller is for that also, I think Adam will have to try to get it out. I think he would have liked to have more time.

It's been said for a while now that it would be out in the Spring. That's what we've been hearing for the last couple of months. It can all change though. What might be one day might not be the next.

CC Josh's cd is amazing. I bought like 5 songs from it from Itunes plus the Bonus track. I will be buying the physical cd tomorrow at Target.

I think so. I'm glad I'm going out to a hockey game tonight. I meant it when I said I don't have any words. None of them would be suitable for public viewing right now anyhow even if I did.

Well, at least if it is legal he won't get in trouble there. I don't have any issues with the kissing or sexy stuff - but probably would better he didn't partake in weed smoking on stage. I'm pretty sure that is going to get some media coverage here and not sure how that will go over. I mean zillions of people (especially in the biz of show) smoke pot and I myself do not think it is a huge deal. But others will.

I am sorry. Adam is taking his singing to a whole new level. Although pot smoking is okay within the confines of your home, I don't approve of it on stage.

I am getting more and more disillusioned with Adam. There isn't a day anymore that I don't read something that leaves me.... I hate to say disgusted but that seems like the only word that fits.

I guess people that have followed rock stars and think this sort of thing is okay aren't going to be bothered but I have never been a fan of anyone that behaved like this and to me it is just so wrong.

Here it is. The whole performance is a big turn-off for me. He barely sings. It's mostly sexual antics. Check out Tommy at 8:56. But, the comments are overwhelmingly positive. The audience that he is gathering loves it all. He has brought back sex, drugs, and rock'n roll. All that might be ok except that he is also the finest singer in the business and this type of performance cheapens him (in my opinion and I'm pretty open-minded.)

Smoking pot in Amsterdam is legal, but strutting around the stage puffing on weed seems so unnecessary and even silly looking.
