AMERICAN IDOL - THE FINAL SEASON

Perhaps we need a 'Charts' thread to keep track of it all......

They all are doing well on Itunes.  Still wish Dalton got to record Hercules.  But he starts recording his album Sunday so hopefully I will have it in my hot little hands soon.

Well, I can do a CHARTS thread but I expect these songs to fall off the charts pretty quickly.  All the diehard Idols fans are scarfing them up right now.

I will make one for now and bring over the info as I find it.  I just get it from IDF.  I let them do the leg work as I find hunting around iTunes a pain in the butt!! 

So if Scott signed Mac do you think that is who Dalton is signed with???

I mean who else could be be signed with mins. after he was voted off?

There are rumours that it is a label called Fueled by Ramen which is associated with Warner .... they have alternative pop such as Fun. Nothing is confirmed which makes me believe that it is a label not associated with Idol since they are obviously waiting to announce. He is working with Matt Novesky from Blue October who will be producing him. Whatever deal Dalton has I think it's been in the works for a bit.

Cool.  I know nothing about Alternative Music or those people.  Eric or Justin might. 

I bet they knew Dalton wouldn't win and that is why things were in the works.   TPTB see the voting each week and I bet the Trent/LaPorcha showdown has been inevitable for a long time!  I mean I sure saw it coming (even though I dreamed of Mac in there and I think earlier seasons he would have been).

I looked at the list of artists on Big Machine Records and literally every HUGE country act is on that label!!  It's like Scott OWNS  Country music     He must be rich as can be!!! 

I am just so thrilled that Mac is signed with a major label and has a song doing super well on the iTunes charts today!  Must make tonight much easier on both Mac and Dalton knowing that even though they didn't win the title they got exactly what they wanted!

That is what MacK  (everyone else spells it that way so I guess I will) said in his Perioscope.

"I didn't win the TV show but I still got my single out on iTunes and signed to a major label!"   So all is good with him.  Though I am sure all of them would have loved the title and the confetti falling on them!  Who doesn't dream of a moment like that in their life.

But both our guys came damn close (got their hometown visits) and are getting a great opportunity to start a career.  What happens from this point for both of them is pretty much out of our hands except for buying any song we can and posting encouragement on social media.

Now if Trent can just pull off the win tonight then this last season will have gone pretty good for us!

Did you get to buy Dalton's single from Amazon?

Not yet, I'm going to tonight. Last night was a bit of a blur after the elimination until I started seeing the album news. I'm all over it tonight though.


Yes, it's all up the boys now and how hard they work. Daughtry said to Dalton last night more or less that they've been given the platform, now it's up to them what they do with it. I'm just happy that they've been given the opportunity to try. I was miserable last night after the announcement and I know you've been there too. It was an awful feeling. I'm so glad that he was able to at least talk about the album. So many of his fans were crushed and now they have something to look forward to! I hope Trent gets a deal as well. LaP......well good luck Scott. I think she's going to turn into a Diva witch personally.

Well, I won't say that as I think she is a sweet humble girl and hopefully will stay that way.

But Scott is going to need luck figuring out what to do with her.  Black Diva singers are not on his label.  None.  She is not going to be easy for him to market.  Will her take her the pop direction?

Trent is southern and loves southern and blues and that could work great.

MacK is a singer/songwriter guitar man storyteller and that works well with a country label with some pop.  MacK is adorable and already popular and Roses is already doing super well today so I am sure Scott is encouraged and excited and knows he can market MacK. 

Scott made it clear early on he loved MacK.  I have never seen a great love for LaP.   He did love Tristan.  I am sure he saw her marketability and she wants to go the country route anyway.  She is young and she is beautiful so he was no doubt licking his chops.  Maybe he will sign her too  

I am afraid LaP probably got a lot of sympathy votes.  So many women vote.  So many women have been abused (Hathor and I have) so many women are single moms struggling.  So many women probably see themselves in LaP and want to give her that big break.

It is going to be interesting to see how this all plays out for everyone!

It's good to space out the buying of the songs to help keep them on the charts longer.    I HAD to have MacK's last night!!  It helps you feel like you are making up for any disappointment they are feeling for not being the winner.

Yes, I have been there.  The punched in the gut feeling stuck with me all week after MacK left.  Even though I just knew he would go 4th you cannot help but hope for that miracle  

And when it comes to Idol I had that punched in the gut moment most every year

Let's see - my fave won season 1, season 7, season 11   Maybe tonight my second fave will win!!     Well, I didn't mind Lee winning season 9 since he was from Rob's hometown.  But Crystal probably should have won.

OK   -   MacK just did a Perioscope because his phone and the label's phones were going nuts!!

Here is the story.  Since iTunes rushed it up last night there was the glitch with the picture.  iTunes was upset that it was on it cover page with no picture so THEY pulled it and are working on getting it fixed.  The Label is pushing iTunes to hurry!!

IT WAS #5 WHEN IT WAS PULLED!!!!!!!!  NUMBER FREAKING 5!!!!  

So MacK and the label are a little worried about how long it will take to get it back up because they don't know where on the chart it will be once the picture glitch is fixed and it is available to buy.

Who knows, if that hadn't happened it might be #1 right now!!!

I love that the label guy was there with MacK and said they are pushing it!

I am just so bummed this happened and perhaps slowed the momentum ....... 

But Mac is so over the moon for the success and getting to number 5 on the overall chart and number 1 on the singer/songwriter chart that he is hand making t-shirts today with roses on them to give to people!!!  He is way too cute!

So great to see all the good news on Mac and to see how great Roses is doing on the iTunes chart. I noticed the issue with the photo last night when I searched for it. That's really unfortunate that it happened and thus the song got pulled because of it. Hopefully they get it back up very soon and it doesn't slow down the song from the huge surge up the chart.

I just read over at mj's that Nigel was the one to get Phillip involved in the finale. The idol PTB in charge apparently declined to give Phillip's number to him so he had to contact the lawyers to reach him. I am assuming he means Phillip's lawyers. Nigel might be an ass sometimes but sometimes he does good. Thanks to him Phillip is there and that's awesome.

Yes FC I know I could have done way more votes but I am happy with what I was able to accomplish. I hope and prayy it was enough.

canear, my best friend Robin, is a big Dalton fan. She was very disappointed last night when he didn't make it. She so wanted to hear him perform more. She even said how cool it would have been if he made it and the Texas connection between him and Kelly. She knew he had great things in store regardless of what happened but that didn't help her sadness. It's been quite some time since someone grabbed her the way Dalton has this year. She hasn't been paying as close attention to Idol since about season 10/11 but this time she was full in and that is largely in part to Dalton. He is a very special young man.

No Tweets from the others about their singles.  Trent put a little something on Facebook.  He and LaP are probably incredibly busy today though.

I read that Dalton said that was not true about the Alternative Label Fueled by Ramen.  Or maybe it is and he is trying to fake people out since it was not officially announced yet. 

No idea what all MacK gets to do tonight but I wish he would get to sing Roses.....  But I doubt it.   Would be nice promo though!

Realized I Amazon Music/Prime Cloud on my phone and not iTunes so I went and bought Roses from Amazon too!  So I spent almost $3.00 on MacK     Sounds great on phone coming into my ear on my bluetooth!!

TWO HOURS TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!  Going to record it also in case there are parts I want to watch again.

That is frigging awesome about Roses. I am pissed it was yanked so as to not show up LaPorcha and Trent.

It is a great song and I pray Mac is hugely successful with it.

Oh no - you missed a post.  iTunes pulled it because of the cover art glitch.  A black square showed up instead of his face.  I am still having the black square issues.

It's is back on the chart at number 5!

AND HE HAS A TOP 5 SONG THAT HE WROTE!!!!!  Not like the others, it is HIS original song!!  And still #1 on the Singer/Songwriter Chart so he has a number 1 song with an original!

This is quite the day for him!!   Considering it could have been a really sad day.....

I am glad for Mac. Roses is a great song.
