AMERICAN IDOL SEASON 14

I decided to check out Twitter followers of the remaining contestants, and Joey and Quentin.

Jax has the most with almost 70,000
Clark with 45,000
Joey, Nick and Rayvon all are in the 32,000-36,000 range
Quentin has 20,000
Tyanna the least with 19,000

I know it doesn't mean everything but it is interesting.  I was happy to see Jax with the most as I would love for her to win.  But I know Alex had the most last season and he came in third.  And Tyanna has the least and she has not been in the bottom - at least not that they have shown.

I haven't thought of Music Producer in ages. Season Five sure was the best. So much going on on the show, behind the scenes and on the Idol boards and the other zidol related boards and even contestants boards (Chris F. Band website).

well #savequentin trended but saverayvon did not.

Is there no way to prove the number of tweets?

I hadn't used twitter in quite some time but I did last night.

If something trends it means it's HIGH up there and spreading fast. Everyone sees it. Multiple people are sending it out, sharing, and so on. The fact that Quentin trended means without a shadow of doubt HE WAS SAFE. So you know what Idol is freaking screwy. They got Quentin out. I believe that 150%.

That is the story he was told to say IMO. Like my friend said and like Jason told me, Quentin was told the night before.

That is why he doesn't look nervous in the chairs like he always has.

That is why his performances while good lacked some of his fire and intensity.

That is what my friend associated with Idol told me.

I am surprised you watch the show when you believe it is that corrupt and manipulative.

I would have to hear Quentin say that himself to totally believe it.  Not saying it is not true.... but yeah, I need to hear it from him.

FC, you will never hear it from Quentin, due to the contract they signed. Jason slipped and got in BIG trouble. He has remained black balled by Idol since.

I just have trouble believing that they are always playing games like that and lying all the time.  After 14 years you would think it would all be exposed. 

Ever since I got on the boards after Clay lost I see all kinds of conspiracy theories when people's faves get voted off.  All the time.  I just think if Idol was THAT corrupt they would have been exposed by the real media.  You should have seen the theories when Constantine got the boot. 

It this were someone you knew in your real life that you knew for a 100% fact worked for Idol it would be one thing.  If you only know the person through a message board how can you know for a fact he works for Idol?  And why would someone who works for Idol risk exposing himself and losing his job by posting things on message boards?  Heck, I could post all sorts of things about myself or kids or whatever and how would anyone here know if it 100% true? 

Again, maybe it all is but I will not bet my life on it.

Crap I forgot Quentin was on Kelly and Michael.

I remember when Chris D. Was on and he was so relaxed and calm. Later we found he had been signed after having a meeting with Clive. Hoping the same thing happens for Quentin.

Not sure... Daughty was hugely popular.  Most expected him to win.  He was a frontrunner all along.  It wasn't the same for Quentin.  Not saying he won't get signed.  Scott may be very interested.  But you just KNEW Daughtry was getting signed ASAP!

Chris didn't the day after but after his meeting with Clive he knew. The change from the Tonight show appearance and Regis and Kelly was Night and Day as I think he found out on Friday he was signed and was on Regis and Kelly on Monday.

The conspiracy theories come out every year to explain a favorite's lack of success on the show. It would take a full time Idol staff to devise, plan, and carry out all the deviousness. I don't think they care that much who wins. It's really not that important. They are just putting on a show. Quentin's demeanor was different this week, but I think he was told to smile and act happy, hopefully to erase the poor image he showed the week before. Otherwise, he is toast in the music world.

I checked at Idol Forums and they have a thread of the Idols Social Media stats. Quentin is down low.  Tyanna a tad lower.  Rayvon is considerably higher than both of them. Jax is by far the highest and then Clark.  Then a gap to Nick.

I think judges comments do try to sway the voters to the ones they feel have a better shot at success. Clearly Paula was told what to say regarding Jason and she really blew it. But  I cannot imagine all of THAT manipulation.  I just don't buy it.  I will NEED a former contestant (more than one even) to say they were told they were going home and that other had less votes etc.  I would think Twitter geniuses could prove if Idol has been lying all these weeks about the results of the Twitter Save.  And why would they want to keep saving Rayvon?

I highly doubt that the AI audience is the audience that Scott would market Quentin to if he is signed.

Winners of late haven't sold well and lots of other busts. Lee, Kris, Candice, Kree, Caleb, Pia on and on.

I just don't believe that in the music biz, one argument, would matter to the music buying demo that would be Quentin's demo.



Personally, I would love for Quentin to be a new artist on Empire. He has the look, the style, the voice and charisma.  They sell the songs on Itunes.  So I think it would be a perfect vehicle for Quentin to become a star.

Is Quentin the Q-guy that acted like a street punk last week? He's nothing special in the talent department, and I can't stand to even look at him with that stuff hanging out of his nose. LOL Remember, we are all entitled to our opinion.

Yes Spirit, that was Quentin.  A lot of people don't dig the nose ring.  That includes me.  He looks way better without it.  Heck, everybody does  

He for sure has some vocal issues.  Some songs he sang better than others.  I enjoyed a lot of his artistic choices.

He was not my fave.  My faves are/were Joey, Jax, Qassim (guy with dreads and a great dancer/performer not so great a singer) and then Quentin.  Mostly because I like those who are not same old same old - as I find Clark, Nick and Tyanna to be. 

So I am giving all my votes to Jax now, even though we all know Clark has this thing in the bag

But all I can say is I am not seeing major outrage regarding Quentin going home.  At Idol Forums he has virtual no activity in his thread.  Never has. No posts in his thread even on the night he left.  Jax has the most, followed by Clark and Nick.  There was way more upset there over Joey leaving.

Rayvon has over 15,000 more Twitter followers than Quentin.  I am sure that is what made the difference in the Twitter vote.  However, Daniel had way more than Rayvon so who knows what happened that night. 

It will be interesting to see what becomes of Joey and Quentin now.

I don't think much will happen with either of them. Clark may well win. He would appeal to the typical AI audience, but I think he is bland and boring. I would hate to sit through a concert of his. I still have no favorites, but my least favorites are gone.

It took my mom a few episodes but she grew to love Joey.  But she sees Joey as doing better on Broadway as a comic actress/performer.  I could see her being good at that.

I can see Joey moving to LA and jamming with the Post Modern Jukebox. with Haley, Casey Abrams, Blake Lewis and Elliot Yamin.

Is Elliott doing jazz music now?  Haven't heard anything about him for awhile.

We are all entitled and I find Quentin mega talented. I will not hold one exchange against him. I am pretty sure we all have had them. Where emotions get the better of reason.
