| Hey it's a religion here! I think you need to be Canadian to understand the total passion for the game here. FC, do you think you'll be able to shrink that picture of Sidney into an avy? If not I'll see if I can find one smaller. | |

| Photobucket has not been letting me shrink people's pix for avatars. If you could try to find a smaller one that would be great.
I just know there is no way a Catholic mass would allow a hockey game on TV during mass!! Just no way. | |

| Canear I don't know if The Bay will have those hats for sale after the Olympics or if they made them just for the athletes. I didn't see them at The Bay, just the toques they have been wearing for the Olympics. | |

| Thanks Hathor! FC, thank you for changing my avy! I love Sid. ....and Kate, I will have to check online and see if those hats are anywhere. Perhaps there might be some on Ebay. I'll take a look tomorrow. | |

| Phone your local Bay store or HBC online store. They may know if they will be getting any in now the team wore them at the Closing Ceremonies. It would be a Bay exclusive product as HBC designed the uniforms. They may of just wanted them for the athletes. | |

| What a wonderful closing ceremony. Beautifully done. I adore the mascots. I wish I could get them.
Congrats to Canada on winning the gold this morning.
Well another Olympics has come and gone. I'm sure going to miss them. Some major disappointments but some amazing and inspiring wins. Overall a really great games.
Congrats to ALL the athletes from around the world for being part of these games.
Until next time. | |

| The summer Olympics will be in Rio, and they are having to evict poor people from their homes to destroy the homes and build the Olympic facilities. Their beach is a trash-filled mess. They probably have a lot of stray dogs to kill, too. This whole thing is getting out of hand, wonderful though the Olympics are. And you wonder why it is the countries can deal with the problems they have to get ready for Olympics, but can't seem to do it just because it needs to be done. Each one has to out-do the other to the point being ridiculous. I love the Olympics, but not the way it travels from country to country. | |

| Couldn't agree with your more Spirit!! It's insane and some horrible things are done to set it all up and the money!! And the waste afterwards! I am glad they are over and all my regular shows will be back on I'm just not into watching them Other than some of the skating I watch none of it. I'd have watched some of the hockey with the USA teams if they were on here live and at a time I could see them. And for every happy ending there is TONS more heartache. Not my thing. | |

| Well some of us are quite into them and I will miss watching each day. I admire the athletes for all the heart and dedication they put into their sports. I find them very inspiring and much more exciting than watching some of the reality shows that are on. | |

| I admire the athletes too, that is why watching so many heartbroken and in tears is so upsetting to me. So much emphasis on winning and winning the gold that everything else seems like failure to them. Just not something I like seeing. And there is more on TV than reality shows. Other than singing competitions I don't watch any reality shows. I love my mysteries and dramas. At least the tears and heartbreak are just acting | |

| I love both the winter and summer Olympics. It's worth postponing a few shows for a few weeks. The facilities built in Vancouver were mostly the speed skating oval and Olympic Village as most of the other facilities were already in Place. I love seeing the athletes compete and also meet new people. Bringing home medals is just one part of it. I am in withdrawal. Morning news is so boring compared to Olympic news. | |

| I guess you have to be a sports fanatic to get it. Watching people curling is just not my idea of must see TV But you got almost 3 weeks and you won the main exciting events so all should be good for you. | |

| Not necessarily. I know lots of people who aren't fanatics that enjoy the Olympics. I keep telling you that you need to move to Canada.........or get satellite tv. | |

| I have been to Rio and it is truly the tails of two cities. One is opulent and clean with money and high rises and Spirit the beaches when I were there were pristine. Sadly behind the high rises the poverty is beyond sad. The worst I have ever seen. People living in boxes and make shift shanties. So why oh why would a country with so little cash put its money into the Olympics?
Truly, I have been to many countries and Rio was one of the most beautiful. The Rain Forest that jut up from the beach, the flowers, the foods, the awesome jewelry, food and night life. But the shanty towns were so heart breaking. Nothing is done by the government to assist the poor.Where are they going to be moved to? Will they be provided housing? What about their cats dogs and other pets?
IMO countries who suffer such poverty should be hosts for something like the Olympics.

| Hahaha that was one funny but actually true typo. These make shift shanties have no plumbing and therefore no bathrooms. The smell is foul. | |
