I am happy to see some of you were happy with it.
I am not bothered by any of the sexual stuff. Actually I thought it was tamer then expected. No nipple tassels.
I thought the vocals were off and he freaking fell Good recovery with the roll though.
I agree. the audience was more like WTF than anything else. I am sorry ladies - I don't think that performance is going to sell any CDs or win new fans.
The only hope I am hanging onto is that my mom called AND LOVE IT!!! Seriously! She thought it was hot and he was awesome and she loved it. And mom is BRUTAL with performances. So maybe, just maybe not everyone thought it was as bad as I did......
Don't shoot me ladies. You know I ADORE HIM!! I still do. I am just disappointed for him. Me? I'm a fan and that ain't changing.
CAN I JUST ASK THIS - WHAT THE HELL WITH TAYLOR SWIFT???????? Pretty much how I feel. His vocals seemed to get better as the song went on. Yup, that recovery was good. His little smile after he was up doing his thang was cute. I LOVE THE HECK OUTTA HIM, TOO!! I hope and pray that somehow he gets new fans out of this! My heart is hurting for him right now........... OY, and my freaking headache is back..... Cathy T. Swift........ as adamishot said, she is winning everything. She just won a crapload of Country Music Awards, including Entertainer of the Year! WTH... she has a HUGE fanbase.

| I'd just like to know what the hell they were thinking having FYE as a single anyhow knowing what it was about and Adam wanting to perform it that way? If he did this on national television, what is the video like? They might only be able to show it on porn channels. Maybe, if nothing else, he'll realize that America (and Canada) are not ready for this. He is so talented and he can be a mega-star......but not doing this. Leave that crap to the rappers Adam. You're better than this. | |

IDF = Idol Forums. Most all the Adam fans there are in tears and very sad about this performance.
ONTD - Oh No They Didn't - it is a celeb site and it is BRUTAL! They are going to rip him a new one!

| Canear- I agree with you in part. But look at some of the other performers. They too grab their crotch and dance sexually. And they are not rappers. Forget rappers- Look at 50 Cent. Isn't he a criminal? | |

| I guess while I think this is who Adam is, the whole vibe of it to me is tongue-in-cheek and "Don't you love how ridiculous this is all is?" (Actually not unlike the vibe I get from Lady Gaga who I am loving more by the minute). I might have found a similar performance disturbing or offensive if I thought it were dead serious but with Adam I always feel like he's pushing against the norm just for fun, so it doesn't bother me at all. They didn't black anything out here and I live in one of the most conservative cities in America so I'm not too worried. | |

| I'm glad someone else thought he fell. Didn't know if that was part of the plan or not. I think the AMA's have been pretty racy for quite a while but I'm not sure anyone has gone that far. I watched that old video of Adam's pre Idol where he does pretty much the same things with guys heads ( no nicer way to say that) and dances way more suggestive, but somehow on a major TV network it just didn't translate for me to a viewing audiance. I don't want his whole career to be peddling kinky sex. Sexy, yes, but not so dang visual with the acts. He's more tanlented than that. Glam | |

| Well it's going to be talked about and not in a good way.
I feel sad for Adam because this a blown opportunity for him, one he'll never get back. He should have known better than to go with this crap. His people shouldn't have let him do it. If he had gone with WWFM he would have won over a ton more fans and now ....... I hope he dumps this song from GMA and I have to wonder if Letterman will let him perform it.
What a frickin' nightmare.

| "It's modern and fit the show."
My take on it, too.
It's not the Adam I prefer, but none of it shocked me. (I'm pretty shock-proof.) I didn't even find it distasteful...just not my cuppa. Adam's voice sounded strained to me at times. I wasn't sure if he actually fell or that was part of the act, that's how well he integrated it and recovered. The performance was Adam's interpretation of the song. He is a PERFORMER and we have to remember he likes to go all out. I thought the audience reaction was quite good.
My favorite performance of Adam's was Feeling Good. So I like his theatricality, but not as far out as it was tonight.
I did go ahead and order his CD last night. I wasn't going to, but thought I may as well. It will help his numbers and I actually haven't bought any new music in over a year.
Good to be here with you guys tonight.
ETA: It seemed like I lost the sound for a second, but I don't think anything was blipped. I noticed on a couple of occasions that they were having trouble with sound.

| FC, I too thought the vocals - and the music - were off - way off!! I was a little surprised that they allowed such in-your-face displays of sexuality on TV! Don't they have guidelines for those things??!! Hubby says that those rules go out the window after 10pm! (No, he did not watch - and I'm kinda glad he didn't!) And the audience reaction was really underwhelming, wasn't it?! What does that mean?! Did Adam push the envelope a little too far?! I don't know right now. Will have to read the reviews in the morning. I keep thinking about interviews Adam has done where he keeps saying it's all about the music! If it's all about the music, why - oh why - did he flaunt the sexuality thing? I think it was a huge distraction from the music! He took a risk, and I hope what he did tonight doesn't backfire on him. Yes, it'll be talked about around the water cooler tomorrow morning, that's for sure! Guess that's what they wanted! 'Nite all! | |

ONTD - Oh No They Didn't - it is a celeb site and it is BRUTAL! They are going to rip him a new one! FC I just saw the thing about parents and stuff writing for the FCC to take action against Adam's performance so very sad for him but I said it before that This is live tv and you can't be doing that kind of stuff and from what I get he did some very sexual stuff on stage. Adam I love you baby but you need to find a happy medium about being yourself. For TV you have to reign it in and think of all who are watching the show. During your tour you can do what you want. I seriously want to know what Adams parents, Kris, Katy, Kelly, Carrie, Chris Daughtry and Paula thought. Shannon

| Zara - like I said it is not that I have an issue with the sexual stuff myself. I think you are correct about Adam's thinking. I am upset his vocals were off for most of the song and I am upset he fell. I am upset that most of the talk tomorrow will be about it being nasty enough that some parts of the country blocked it out. Or maybe they just lost their feed any people think it was blocked out. People at ONTD think he is talented "but tries too hard". There is a Getty Image of Adam at the end of the performance giving the finger. I don't know what that was about at all. UGH....... this is soooooo not how I thought this was going to go. I thought he would be amazing and blow the roof off the place and get lots of cheers at the end and praise. He was trending #1 on Twitter and Twitter removed it | |

Well, I don't agree that it didn't go over well with the CD cover. I think I would rather know who an artist is and have them put themselves out there and be honest about it than try to reign in to sell more records or be more commercial or please a certain audience. Even artists that I don't care for, I have to respect for having the guts to put their art out there, whatever it is.

| There was no guy-on-guy kiss. That was a girl.
And for the record, I couldn't tell if he fell. I watched it twice and I still couldn't tell if he fell. So I wouldn't worry too much about the non-previously-biased public fixating on that. I guess I am just not cut out for any kind of intense fandom anymore. I don't see anything to really worry about, myself.

| Sorry Zara - my mom thought it was a girl too and I let her think that. But it was a guy. His name is Tommy. This has been confirmed by several sites and the fans in his thread at IDF - of which there are over 700 of at this moment reading the AMA thread. The funny thing is I have read some posts where friends and family members who didn't like Adam before - loved it and now want his CD, where many fans are the ones disappointed. So weird | |
