ADAM - QUESTIONABLE DECISIONS?

It is a strange world, or at least it is to me. Probably not to the people that take part in it. To me sex is beautiful but it is also private. I have never been one to enjoy sex with casual acquaintances or to enjoy watching other people have sex or simulating it. There is no question that there is a large audience that really gets into that so he will always have people screaming to see more. Unfortunatley I don't think that is a good thing, in fact it makes me very sad.

Those pictures Sky posted make me sad. I will never understand why people like it ........ my apologies to those who do ......... but I just don't.

I am not the slightest bit conservative about such things, but in Adam's case, he is too talented to behave in that way. Of course, Pink is great as well and she indulges. So I don't know. From those pictures, though, it does look like I would be cringing if I were there watching. At some point, it all veers into lewdness and that's not entertainment. I think Adam keeps attempting to change up his performance, and he gets totally involved in each and every show. But, he doesn't need to push so hard.

I'm tending to agree with all of you. I know Adam is a sexual personality................I want to see the vid, to see if these pics weren't elaborated upon for being something they aren't.

I sat for the longest time, trying to come up with the right wordings, and you did it for me! That's exactly why I'm not 'diggin it'.

I do not believe that his sexual-ness on stage is the reason he is not being recognized by his peers. It is his sexual orientation. Rappers do WAY worse on stage and in videos and they are awarded up the wazoo! Accepted and awarded left and right! It is because they are hetero!

No, his sexualness onstage is not the sole reason, but coupled with being a gay male, it just might lose him some acceptance. Take for instance the AMA performance. He still has not buried this. Is it right? NO

In this country, overt homosexuality played out in public is still frowned upon. It's icky to many Americans. So it's not sexual antics per se, but the fact that Adam is acting out his homosexuality that is a turn off to his peers. He is breaking new ground for sure. It remains to be seen if it works for him in the long run. Judging from his reception in Europe, others may well follow in his footsteps before long.

As much as I love Adam this raunchiness on stage even for me is becoming a little of a turn off.

He may very well end up being an American who is a bigger star overseas than at home.

For me, it isn't about the homosexuality, it's the sexual antics in general. I didn't like them when Prince did them. I don't like them when Pink does them and in the same vein I don't like it when Adam does them. What adds to the turnoff for me is that he is gay, yet performing these antics to turn on women. It seems rather hypocritical to me. Lewd is a good way to describe last night. Sadly I think it's going to continue through Australia.

So it is OK for women to fool around together to turn on men - but not OK for men to fool around together to turn on women? See, I find that hypocritical. I don't find Adam being hypocritical at all. I read that there were lots of gay men there so I think he was turning on anybody who felt turned on.

Where did I say it was okay for women to do it? I don't think it's okay either way. Britney/Madonna was the ultimate in hypocrisy to me.

But why do either feel the need to HAVE to turn on the audience? I still remember JD Fortune performing oral sex on his mic stand for the women in the audience.........I didn't find that sexy or a turn on at all, and cringed a bit because I was with my DIL and nephew and sister. Pink, I haven't seen nor any other performer similate sex on the stage. I'm not offended by sexual antics, a kiss, a hug, ocassional grope, etc.,but when it comes to actually simulating a sex act during a musical concert........it's not a turn on for me. If others are turned on by it, so be it. All I'm trying to say is, it just might put him right back to where he was after the AMA's.........in this country, and that is what really bothers me. I want Adam to SOAR everywhere!!

It just makes me wonder why half the audience is there........to hear and enjoy the music or watch someone (whoever it may be) turn themselves or the audience on?

I don't think Adam is being hypocritical. Has anyone got the video where these pictures are from? I'd really like to watch it and should have watched before I commented.......something I should have done.

I'm talking about in general. Straight women pose in mags together or do things in videos and films together for the sole purpose of turning on men. They are not gay. They are not into each other. It's just done for a turn on for men. Yet you stated it was hypocritical for Adam to kiss Tommy or be sexual to turn on women because he is gay.

Liking it or not is not the point in this instance. Saying Adam is being hypocritical is just wrong in my opinion. If girls can do it to turn on men - then men can do it to turn on women. I'm just seeing a double standard here.

Not saying Adam should or shouldn't. I just object to him being called hypocritical because I don't think that is fair.

HA! Sky, and I am not slutty - but I get TONS of people around the world LOVE sexual stuff (or porn would not be a Billion dollar industry) so I'm just not going to judge here. I just do what works for me and leave others alone in what turns them on.

I do of course want Adam to be accepted and awarded here in the USA. But if he turns out being bigger overseas - well so be it. It's his life and career.

Pink simulated oral sex with a man on (I believe) the AMA's. It was the year Clay was on, which is why I watched. I was shocked, being innocent of such goings on. Clearly Adam is attempting to push the envelope so homosexuals can shock, too. But alluring as he may be, I wish he would let some lesser talent do that.

That's what I mean............people (not here) have 'grabbed' still shots and labeled them for their own thoughts. That's what I'm getting fed up with and I stupidly fell for it, before seeing proof.

I am glad that this particular night/pictures aren't as bad as was first thought. He does plenty that bothers me that are probably okay with most of you. I don't enjoy it when he licks the mic, when he rubs the mic stand or when he touches himself. Those things are part of almost every concert and hardly worth mentioning they are so common place but they are the reasons that with only a few exceptions I don't watch any video, because this stuff can show up anywhere.

I listen to that voice and think this man should be doing shows that are about the voice and I have to accept that isn't what he wants to do.

I honestly believe that the majority of Adam's audience is there looking for an over the top performance; excited to see what he will do. He gives them what they want. The voice is just a plus.

Sadly I think most of those same people don't even care about the voice and, to me, that is just shameful.
