Prayers needed

I don't like to ask for things for myself, but I am asking for some prayers....

I went to my Doctor today (Mon) for a check-up on my arthritis ( I have it in both hands, wrists and right knee). When he was done with that, he asked if there was anything else I needed to have checked.

I found a lump in my right breast a couple of weeks ago. He did a breast exam and immediately sent me to have a Mammogram. After that, I was getting 5 tubes of blood drawn (for arthritis tests), his nurse came in the Lab and said that my Doctor wanted me at the hospital right away for a breast ultrasound.

I went and had that done. The technician came back in the room and said that the Radiologist had read my Mammogram, talked to my Docotor, and that my Doctor wanted me back in the Clinic immedately to talk with him.

I now have an appt. on Thursday afternoon with a Surgeon. By Thursday, he will have seen my Mammogram and Ultrasound. My Doctor already told me that I would be having some kind of surgery. So, now, I wait and see what the Surgeon recommends.

I have been freaking out all night.... my oldest sister just had breast cancer 2 years ago....

Thank God, Sara will be going with me to the Surgeon's office to take notes and be there for support. We are hoping and praying that this is just a cyst that will have to be removed, and nothing more serious.

Any thoughts and/or prayers would really be appreciated.

Thank You Ladies ~ I'm trying to be strong and stay positive. I just feel awful that Sara and Shanna are so upset ... they have college to concentrate on. I am so thankful that I have them in my life!

I Love You All, and I thank you for the support. Sara and Shanna do, too. We just have to wait and see what the Surgeon says on Thursday.


FC ~ You ARE kidding about the Gokey holiday cd, I hope!! Who in the world would want to listen to that ..... I need good things surrounding me now, certainly not that!

I had my appt. with the Surgeon. Sara went with me, thank God!

The Ultrasound results came back with the lump being marked as SUSPICOUS ....

My surgery is set for Monday, Nov. 22. The hospital will call me Friday with the time.

I am having the lump completely removed. They will send it to Pathology.

Post-Op appt. is Monday, Nov. 29. I will get the results from the Pathology report. We go from there ..... needless to say, I am very worried, but trying so hard to remain positive.

Sara will be with me on both Monday appts., and that is wonderful.

Please keep the prayers going, if I may ask this of you.

Cathy- I hope it goes well for you. I have been in your situation many times and it has always come out okay. So I hope all will be okay for you too.

WC - you know we all will be praying our butts off for you! And for me - that's a lot!

Try not to worry too much - impossible I know

FWIW - My MIL had breast cancer. Twice. She did lose both breasts BUT she is alive and well and cancer free at this time! That is the important thing! And many "suspicious" lumps turn out to be harmless so keep the faith!

Give Sara a big hug from me for being such a good daughter!!

Thank You ALL once again ... you are making me cry with the outpouring of love, support, prayers and good wishes .....

I check in at 10:30 Monday morning, and the surgery will most likely begin around 11:30 am.

My own sweet Doctor called me himself today to talk with me! He is just the best (and, I must say, very handsome!) He calmed me down by just talking to me.

I have put everything in God's Strong Hands and trust Him fully - whatever the outcome will be.

I will let you all know how the surgery goes.

I did alot of shopping today for our Thanksgiving, and my sweet Sara will help out with most of the cooking - she is a Godsend!

If it weren't for her wonderful cooking skills, we'd be left to Shanna making our feast! That would probably consist of chicken tenders and mac n' cheese!!!!

I am truly blessed to have a good support system with me ~ and, I include All of You Ladies in this!
