| We have several Blackhawks in the hunt too! On both teams! So Rob says it's all good. None of my guys care at all about the Olympics. But they LOVE hockey and the Blackhawks. I just want my Patrick to get a gold medal someday. His career has been so amazing and with talk of not having the pros play in future Olympics I feel that is one goal (no pun intended) he will not achieve..... | |

| I really thought the USA had a chance. They had played so well and seemingly scored at will. Not so today. Kane and Kessel played well but it wasn't enough. Juliens stamp was all over how the game was played.

| I disagree Hathor but even if there is a little bit, it's working for us. The Canadians shut down the USA who had been scoring at will and Carey Price was awesome. Every Canadian player played a wonderful defensive game. | |

| Julien's influence on the team. He is an assistant coach working with Mike Babcock. I think there is more of a Babcock influence on the team than anything. | |

| I do not know anything about Babcock. I just recognized the smothering of offense and two way play which is Juliens mantra. | |

| I've been reading a lot about that today. There is some petition with over a million signatures. The federation won't do anything about it I am sure. | |

| They probably won't but we can hope at least.
I know I have been very critical of the Russian girl in my posts and I have criticized her routine but I think it's important to note that I have criticized and been critical of Ashley for the same reasons in the past. It does not matter whether or not it is a US skater to me because I have loved many who are not American. I of course wanted all of our girls to do well and they did. I am very PROUD of each one of them. They all skated beautifully and despite a few mistakes they should be very happy with what they accomplished. Nothing is going to change my mind about the results last night. Nothing. The more I have seen and read today the stronger I feel IMO and I completely stand behind it 100%.

| Watching the USA vs Finland and Kane just missed a penalty shot The USA is just not playing well. I can't figure out why yesterday and today the USA is skating so anemic. Quick is keeping them in this game. Kane just missed a break away. His shot is just off. Kessels shot is also way off??? | |

| Is that possible? Brian isn't the cheeriest person on the planet. It's like the US has lost their will after yesterday's game. | |

| I think the loss yesterday left them defeated. They had no interest in bronze I am afraid. Do you see the USA ladies hockey team get their silver?? They were crushed. In tears. It was heartbreaking. These teams really only want the gold. Very sad for all of them. | |

| FC, the US women fought and were ahead 2 -0 with under 5 minutes in the 3rd. Then their stars fell apart and they lost 3-2 in OT. They should have been heart broken.
The US Men just didn't show up. They were controlled and never really in either games.

I think it helped that Rask was back in goal. The announcers commented that they believed Finland would have been in the Gold medal game over Sweden if Rask had been playing in the Sweden/Finland game. Well I'm doing something tomorrow that has rarely ever been done by me in the past ........... I will be out of bed at 7:00 am for the big game. I will have the coffee ready to turn on and just stumble down the stairs, turn on the tv and crash on the couch. Kate, I'm sure glad I'm not on the west coast for this one!

| Hubby is going to wake me up when he gets up for work. Bars here are allowed to be open at 4am but can't liquor. I just watched Calgary Roughnecks vs Rochester Nighthawks lacrosse and the announcer said the Province is allowing bars to serve liquor at 5am game time. | |

| I think they're allowing liquor here as well.
Your poor hubby has to work? That sucks for him. I don't like the thought of getting up early on Sunday but figure I can always take a nap after it's over.
