| HA! I cracked up that they put Keith through At least he got cut before Top 40. Hope he had fun. I agree Spirit about the show being a bit of a joke, especially after the talent I heard and saw on The Voice this week! I mean DANG could those people SING! And they keep telling everyone the pick they will be a star and this show has produced NO stars so far. It is on two nights and it is up against other shows I love that I am forced to tape to watch this so I am giving serious thought to passing on this if the people going through to the lives shows are not amazing. I do not like any of the judges other than Simon so that doesn't help. | |

| Simon's in love. Guess she has turned him into a nicer person....and he's really nice to any of the little kids that have been on. Go figure. | |

| He always had it in him to be nice. I've seen it before. But it was his quick and sarcastic wit that made me love him. We see a little bit of it here and there with this show, but he was way more entertaining on Idol. | |

| Exactly FC, I liked the quick witted snarky Simon. Much more entertaining.
I liked and enjoyed his razor sharp tongue.
The Voice nor Xfactor USA have produced any true recording stars.
Only Idol has done that and that fact is very curious to me as I agree the talent on the Voice seems superior. But maybe without a tour and high power record label like Idol, The Voice's and Xfactors talent goes no where?

| That is why Nigel was so pissed about The Voice winning The Emmy. Idol changed the face of TV (Nigel's quote) and is the only show to produce real stars, yet it has never won an Emmy after being on so many years. The Voice wins after a coupe years. Frustrating for Idol I am sure. | |

| I hate the way X Factor and maybe The Voice as well make it appear as if the contestants are amateurs. Rachel Potter comes on stage, saying she is a bartender in Nashville, just looking for a break but she's 29 years old already. Well, she has been on Broadway twice, on TV shows, and has performed in many other places. I know it's a TV show and all of the reality shows are full of fake moments, but it's annoying anyway. I don't like the wool pulled over my eyes.
I read an article about The Voice where the author said the winners of that show go nowhere because most of them have already had opportunities but were chewed up and spit out by the business. Interesting take on the show.

| I don't think last season's winner of The Voice was. She was only 16 when she won. | |

| The Voice doesn't actually hide the fact their contestants have had other opportunities and some measure of success. Not in my eyes. X Factor definitely does though. | |

| I agree Teddy. Like the girl the other night where they talked about her voice over work and being in a movie etc. X-Factor hides it for sure. There are threads at IDF which expose all those who have worked on lots of things and had previous contracts etc. | |

| Yep. Jordis didn't hide how she was on Rockstar. Tony didn't hide he worked with Christina on the Mickey Mouse Club. Frenchie didn't hide she had been on Idol. The Voice does not sugarcoat or give false back stories. They are very upfront and in some cases they go out and scout for some of these people. | |

| The Voice doesn't hide that fact at all from what I can tell. Look at Frenchie from idol and Jordis from Rockstar and Gokey's friend from Idol.
That is one thing I think Xfactor should change.

Yes the no label backing is one of the bad things about The Voice and Rockstar both Mark Burnett shows.

| Well it doesn't matter to me. If I like someone, I like them. Don't care about what's happened in their past unless they were criminals of some sort. | |

| It's not about whether or not we like them or even care, it's that X-Factor covers it up. Like that young 15 year old black boy last week. They make it seem like he has never done anything and then you find out he has done tons of stuff - music and TV. And that Lily from the first night (the fifty something with the wild fro) who they act like she was just a nobody trying now and she has been doing things, including 4 albums, for decades.
So it isn't that anyone cares what they have done it is the passing them off like they are just off the turnip truck when in reality they have done many professional gigs. Just don't lie about it.

| I wouldn't put that just on X-Factor. AI has done that for years as well. Why be up front about it if people don't care? I daresay most don't .......... I'm not going to watch a show because of that. Guess I don't see why it's a big deal. | |

| It's a big deal because people don't like being lied to and deceived. Don't make someone out to be a total amateur when they have done professional work for years. Just say so.
I know Idol did that with Carrie.

| Well I know why Rachel Potter hasn't made it before now. Her attitude sucks. She sang horribly and when asked what she thought of her performance she answered 'I've been sick and taking medicine all day'. Who cares????? Suck it up girl. | |

| This show is sooooo bad! After watching The Voice the last two weeks I can hardly sit through this train wreck! This people are so bad compared to the contestants on The Voice I would just tell them all to go home | |

| So why are you watching? You must like it on some level........... Rachel so has to be a plant. The audience can't stand her. They want her gone yet she stays. Nobody is going to vote for her. James Kenney rocks. | |

| For Simon. But I am hanging by on thread with this show. It's just so wierdly done and I can't stand Paulina.
I am looking forward to Rion (sp)
I saw the ratings for last week and X-Factor wasn't even in the top 15.

| I lked te nw set up off deciding the grops, over 25, guys and girls. I like Lilly/Nicole even though she is most likely a plant. Just love her voice. Yes Rachel seems to be a plant and not much audience love. | |

| I've been watching "X Factor:UK" and they're also doing something similar except it's 6 contestants for each mentor. The talent is so much better.
It was funny because Saturday they had the Girls being chosen and half of them were like they could care less whether they got picked or not.

| I am not surprised the talent is better in the UK. Nobody blows me away so far on this show. As in a total package. Let's face it, nobody 54 is going to suddenly become a huge pop star. Same with the older rockers. Anyone remember Josh from season 1??? Little Rion has an awesome voice but will a girl with those disabilities be a huge pop star? Sadly no. | |
