I know.... poor Leo. He didn't campaign for it though. Not at all. Only went to one premiere and that was NYC. I think he has given up on getting accolades from his peers. For some reason he doesn't seem to be popular with them or respected enough.

You could be right about that, him giving up on getting accolades. The thought of that simply breaks my heart though. He is so completely deserving of them. Why his peers and the Academy don't see what an incredibly talented actor he is, is beyond me. He has played so many different roles and he's played every single one of them with greatness. It just boggles the mind.

Indeed it is.

Anyway what do you make of the nominations as they are? Is there anyone you're rooting for, not rooting for and so on?

I am shocked Ben Afflect and Katharine Bigelow weren't nominated for Best director. for sure shocked for Leo.

I am disappointed that The Hobbit didn't get nominated for stuff. Such an amazing movie. This happened when Lord Of The Rings and Two Towers came out to. Such amazing movies that should of been nominated for a heck of a lot of awards.

The Hobbit got one stinking nod and it is for Production design Evil or Very Mad I am happy it got that nod but oh my God what does Peter Jackson have to do to get the academy on board with his movies. Seriously it should of garnered a whole bunch of nominations. Director, Score, Movie, Cinematography,(sp?), Makeup and many more but as I said it seems this movie is going the way as the first two Lord of The Rings movies and it stinks.

I am praying that Hugh and Anne Hathaway win but I have a feeling one will only win cause I hear that Daniel Day Lewis probably has it in the bag for Lincoln.

I am hoping Suddenly from Les Mis wins for best song. The song was not in the musical but was written for the movie and it is such a great song. The writers wrote a very touching song to go with the original songs from the musical.

You're not the only one surprised by the snubs of Ben and Katherine. Many people are surprised neither is in the directing category. The consensus seems to be Anne will take it and while I want her to win I'm not so sure I'd say she's the overwhelming favorite. It just looks that way right now. I think it could easily go to Sally or Helen. Daniel is very popular with the Academy so yeah I can see him winning.

DDL will win!

Anne win The Critics Choice Award last night.

The snubs of Ben and Katherine are a shame.

I'm happy Anne won last night too. I see both Jessica Chastain and Jennifer Lawrence won as well. It's going to be a tight race between those two for lead actress.

I actually thought Jodie's speech was a mess! I thought she was drunk at first! I went to ONTD and found most people there felt the same way. It wasn't that there were not lovely moments in it, but she jumped all over the place and like all the people at ONTD some of it we were like WTH does that mean?? It was so rambling for most of it.

Sorry, I love her and her comments on her mom were beautiful and I agree with her points on privacy - but the delivery was all over the place and hyper and LONG!

I was disappointed with some of the winners. Tired of HBO shows winning so much when many, many people don't even have that channel and can't watch those shows.

Happy for Ben and it is just so odd to have the director who wins the GG and Critic's awards NOT be even nominated for the Oscar. Wonder what happened there???

The Academy has messed up where Ben is concerned. It was so cool to see him winning. I didn't realize George Clooney produced the movie! It was really cute when Jennifer came out and had to thank George for Ben during her presentation. I have to say she is such a gorgeous girl. Adele was hilarious. Love her! .....and that 'Girls' chick couldn't walk in her shoes! How ridiculous was that? Take them off if you can't walk in them for pete's sake!

What I love about Jennifer Garner is she is so gorgeous when she puts on make-up and fixes her hair and sooooo plain when she doesn't and yet she freely goes out all the time in "real life" looking all plain and comfy like an every day mom! She seems a total sweetie too! They seem like a wonderful little family!

I didn't know Clooney produced it either!

I like Adele - but I do not love her like others do. The pissing all over herself wasn't very classy - but I guess it's just the way she is.

I so agree! If you truly cannot walk in heels wear flats. They make lovely ballerina flats. Very dressy ones too. Makes the evening a lot more enjoyable!

I wore my new fancy dress boots on Saturday to the Xmas dinner - but I brought my Xmas slippers for after dessert! Laughing

She wrote and sang the theme song for the newest Bond movie - Skyfall. The song is called Skyfall so she won for Best Original Song for a movie.

I actually prefer Taylor's song for The Hunger Games. It is really beautiful.
