Allison - The Rocker Chick

I don't like it either! Damn. Now I'm curious as to how the rest of the CD sounds like. I wanted some 'belt it out rock' from this girl! Maybe Allison sees herself doing this kind of music though? She just did so well with ROCK though.

I know! I really saw her as a new Ann Wilson. Well, I was at least hoping she would be like a new Ann Wilson.

Most of the fans on ONTD are not liking the song at all. I am sure the diehard fans will like it though. I suppose it depends on what you were expecting and hoping for.

"...Do you think you were able to be yourself on 'Idol'?

Not really. It was pretty hard. Being on 'American Idol,' it's very hard to be who you are. You can try, but you're already portrayed as someone else. It's kind of hard to come out as who you really are. But, now people get a chance to know who we are, going to see us on tour and stuff. ..."

So what does that mean? That she's not really a rocker chick?! I'm confused! I thought she once said that the rock songs she sang on Idol did reflect the type of music she wanted to do??! Can anyone decipher what Allison is talking about here?!

I like it! The music is cool and I can hear Alli in there. This does not sound like Selena Gomez. I have heard songs fro Selena and i hate them all except for her song from TinkerBelle Movie. I think it has a Kelly Clarkson type sound to it..

CC - I don't have a clue who she is musically now. It bugs me she said she wasn't herself on the show - because she certainly implied she was herself. I'm losing interest....

Angel - I just meant that the song shows so little of her power, depth and soul that it might as well be Selena Gomez singing it - as she shows no power, depth or soul either.

While I can somewhat see comparing the style of the song to Kelly Clarkson - the vocals on it do not even come close to Kelly!!!!

I don't know what it means, CC. The songs that Allison picked to perform on Idol, certainly made me think she liked rock. During the tour, she said she didn't select 'So What' to do and I thought she selected 'Barracuda' and 'Cry Baby'. That's the kind of vocals she needs to do! Granted this new song MIGHT be what she likes and what the fans will like. I'll listen to her CD before I buy it.

The song actually reminds me of something Demi Lavato would do. I can see the Kelly vibe, but Kelly is so much better. Not what I had hoped from Allison at all. The beat is great and everything. I love the beat. This is just much more pop than rock. In fact I don't see any rock in this. I hope the rest of the album isn't like this. I wanted Rock Allison. Although, I suppose since she is only 17 this probably fits closer to home.

Allison is really confusing me! She says Pink is the one person she wants to work with, but yet she did not choose So What to sing on tour! Huh??! Doesn't make sense! Oh, yeah! She's only 17!!

"...Is there an artist out there you really look up to and would want to collaborate with?

I keep saying this, and I'm always going to say it until it happens... working with Pink, my friend. That would be amazing. Her music altogether inspires me. I look up to her. ..."

Yeah, I wondered about that. Unless maybe Allison couldn't relate to the words. BEING a big rock star already and dealing with a troubled marriage. Who knows

Between publicly making out with older married men and some of her comments in these interviews - I don't think we have a clue what she is really like.

Yes, she complained about the songs on the tour. Didn't want to sing them and was bored with them. We talked about how she is going to have to deal with that part of touring because she will have to sing the same songs every night for a long time.

Look at how long Britney has been doing this Circus tour! Months and months and months!

You know I've listened to the song a few times trying to give it more of a chance. With each listen I like it a little more, but I stand by not liking it for Allison. I expected something more from her. Something else. I don't know about anyone else but I can't really understand much of what she's singing and that to me is a problem.

I can't understand what she is singing either.

I think after her sing off performance of "Cry Baby" we all expected a CD that would blow us away. This wouldn't even blow out a birthday candle in my opinion.

I have now listened to the song already 10 times in the last half hour. I love it.

As I just mentioned on Idol forums I could so see this song being used as a competition piece of music for High school and College cheerleading. It would totally work. I could see some amazing numbers being done to it.

The beat totally rocks!!

ETA: i have been reading the reviews and if what they are saying is what you guys are saying then I can agree to a point. Most of them have the objection of why they so autotuned her voice? Is that your guys complaints to? If it is I do agree on that part cause he voice is strong and does not need that like Brittany Spears does.

Oh for the people who read the interview part are any of you worried that Alli could get busted for speaking her mind about how she feels Favoritism was a big thing on Idol? I agree with her by the way. She and Kris were threw under the bus weekly while Danny always got a free pass and was told he would be in the finals with Adam. The favoritism was there for sure. I am afraid she is going to get blackballed like Josh Gracin did after he spoke his mind and said that Clay should win the show for season two but it would never happen cause they wanted Ruben to win which was true. After he said that he was never brought back on the show for either of his cd's and his second cd never even got mentioned on there or their site. I pray they just ignore what Alli said but i am worried

If I alone judged "American Idol," 17-year-old rocker-chick Allison Iraheta would have come in second in this year's competition - just behind berserk rock-opera god Adam Lambert.
(In fact, she came in fourth).

Luckily, listeners will soon have a chance to correct this grave injustice. Iraheta's first single, "Friday I'll Be over You," which was leaked to Popeater, comes out any day now. (Iraheta's full, debut CD doesn't arrive until Dec. 1st).
If the single's any indication, we have a lot to look forward it. It's a zippy blast of rock-inflected pop, much in the Joan Jett mold, though modified by more production gloss than that hard star would ever allow.

While the song's chorus slicks things up in too obvious a bid at radio play, the verses retain Iraheta's hoarse-throated charm. She's always had a great capacity for attitude and a muscular range, both shown off to strong effect here.

The song, penned by teen-pop-czar Max Martin, has just the sharp hooks it needs. But it's Iraheta's credible, p.o.'d attitude that makes it stick. While so many young female stars - from Avril Lavigne to Miley Cyrus - feign an ornery style these days, Iraheta sounds like the real, snarling deal.

Someone on Idol forums gathered most of the reviews for the single and most are good. For basic listeners it is like 50/50

I'm glad it might do well. I want her to be very successful. I guess my disappointment was that it wasn't what I thought it was going to be. I'll definitely hold out hope for the rest of the CD.

Berserk Rock Opera God who he would have had WIN! I'll take that!

My problem with the song - other than I really don't think much of the song period - is that they took a girl who can SANG and BLOW and made her sound like just any pro-tooled Disney kid.

ETA: it seems okay now. Teddy if you are speaking of Up and Down then yours and FC's were for sure doing something wonkie cause look at all the space between your siggies and the bottem of the post box. I think it is normal now but I am not sure.
