Just so much sensitivity about Dalton.  Canear doesn't even go in other threads any more.  Hasn't been in the Hello thread.  Any comment not glowing about Dalton and people are jumped on.

It's not fun.....   Canear has never said one kind word about Mac and I didn't go name calling. 

She doesn't get Mac and I don't get Dalton.  Seems even Steven to me  

Yes Angel, I very well remember defending Trent from the ugly comments about him.

Yes FC you were right about Trent. I have no problem admitting I was wrong about him. I have also said he is a deserving winner.  I have said tons of great things about Mac.  But I don't think Mac deserved to come in a place higher than Dalton.  So while you appreciate those comments they piss me off.

If I had my way Trent 1, Dalton 2, Mac 3 and LaPorcha 4.

For me - Mac 1, Trent 2, Dalton 3 and LaPorcha 24

I took it as that is how she wanted it to be with Mac being her fave and all.

For me it would have been Tristan, Mac, Dalton and Trent 4th. But in saying that that is how I wanted it but Trent did amazing so not upset he won at all he deserved it.

Sure he did!  Just going by my personal faves/taste.  I love them both but I love MacK best so I would have loved to see him win!  All are talented in their own right.  Heck Olivia and Avalon and Jenn should have been up there too.

But we do like to see our faves win!!  And I have listened to Roses way more than Falling because he it more my type of music.  That has a lot to do with why you love an artist.  Their music.

And Michael and Melinda felt MacK should come in 3rd over Dalton because they felt he was the more consistent one. That was their opinion and one I agree with.  Not saying consistency is the only reason one should get to third place.  But that was their justification for their opinion.

For me the artist has to truly touch my heart with their singing. If I don't feel something when I am listening then it is hard for me to connect with the artist. In saying that I try to give all artist a chance though. Not a fan of Philip, Lee or James but I gave their music a try like I always promised I would do,(had always promised to be open minded and at least listen to the music of the artist even if I wasn't a fan), and have actually liked some of their songs. I bought like two from Philips first cd, A few from each of Lee's and a few from James.

That is the thing - MacK grabbed me and that was that.  Love his voice and his original songs!

Lee's new stuff is really really good. His best to date!

Kris, Adam and George had me from Hello Clay's voice still has me but he don't. He has changed and become mean and I don't like that. If he put out new music I would probably buy it though cause I love his voice.

Clay sounded wonderful the other night! No denying he has an amazing voice!  But he has a difficult personality.  Sometimes kind and funny, and sometimes really mean and sarcastic.  A bad temper too from all I have read.

In watching "The Runner Up" about his run for congress you see all his sides.

Unlike Melinda, I do not have thousands of readers and doubt I changed even one opinion. I also doubt Trent saw my post.  Dalton read everything about him. 

So nothing Melinda says now can undo the hurt she caused.  I do not give her a pass.

Considering the last many posts I believe Angel and I have moved on.

Did you guys hear Taylor Hicks is going to have a new show on the INSP channel? He's going to be going around to all the different states and sampling their food. It's called "State Plate."

I am posting this cause you will not give Melinda break for things she said of Dalton.   You are ALL upset cause of stuff that was said and written about Dalton and you can't get passed that but When I have been upset cause horrible horrible stuff were said and STILL said,(from critics, bloggers and so on), about Kris,(because he beat Adam. By the way he sees it all also), you have said that I am too defensive over Kris and that not all are going to like Kris and believe he can sing and get over the fact he beat Adam and so on.  You have stated yourself that you believe his voice isn't that good.  You have said I need to move on.  So I ask why must I move on and not be upset when after 7 years he continues to get trashed on  when he is indeed a very talented guy even if all don't see it but you can be all upset over something Melinda said.  I haven't seen Dalton get even close to the harsh treatment that Kris got or still gets to this day.  By the way the day you got on me saying I was too defensive over Kris I have tried my hardest to back away and calm down from getting upset but today I had to say something cause it is just kind of seems wrong.  You say Dalton has been hurt from all this do you not think Kris was hurt or has been continued to be hurt from Hateful comments that are written or said about him???  

Eta: Taylor to this day still gets hurtful stuff said of him also.  He had the best knowledge of knowing how to handle it though since being in the business for ten years prior so he saw bad reviews to go along with good.

Angel, again dead horse I am sick and tired of everything going back to Kris with you.  I could care less. I wish Kris the best but IMO Kris is a much more limited vocalist than Dalton and a boring performer.   

So what is said about Kris by others is no concern to me. Like I said I wish him well but personally do not think he is a good singer or performer. Just bland and typical imo.

Oh my freaking word you don't even get what I am saying. I am saying why is it okay for some to trash others but if you like that person then they are sooooooooooooo wrong and they can't be forgiven.

ugh forget it you are not going to understand anything that I say maybe someone else can make you see. I am done and just washing my hands of this!

All I am going to say is:

1)  Angel getting defensive of Kris is no different than you getting defensive of Dalton.  She feels protective and you feel protective.

2) If Dalton can't handle what Melinda and or Michael said than he needs to think of another career because in show business you are going to get judged, critiqued etc. for everything you do, wear, your hairstyle, who you date and on and on!  He better have thicker skin than you think he has.  Melinda and Michael didn't say anything I didn't read 1000 times at IDF. Fake Emo was said over and over again.   The biggest stars in the world still get horrid reviews and bashed.  

3) It's all a matter of taste and opinion.  I prefer Kris to Dalton also.  Doesn't mean I have bad taste or anything else.  It just is what it is.  Dalton might be more of an "interesting" stage performer - but I don't like his voice so it doesn't matter all that much that he is interesting on stage because I wouldn't enjoy his singing

All a matter of taste.  Hey, my sons would say they all suck!!     They prefer people like Tool or Alice in Chains or Death Metal!! 

And Rob likes Frank Sinatra and The Beach Boys!!   

Yes FC true but I don't beat the damn drum about Dalton like Angel beats it for years and years about Kris. Frankly it is tiresome.   I am glad you like him and Angel loves him. I can't listen to more than 3 bars without being bored.  Kris has a very limited range and delivers every song exactly the same. MacKenzie imo is a much better singer and songwriter. So is Jason Castro. 

I do not beat people over the head to like Dalton. I could care less if you do or don't.  I do. I think his voice is very good and his performance style exceptional.  Also he is so good looking and just charming.  But that is me. If you or Angel do not like Dalton so be it. I will not try to change your minds.  Instead I will just talk to Canear or others who concur.

Nothing will change my mind about Kris. I resent the constant attempts.

oh my God you missed my ENTIRE point of my post Hathor!!!!!!  I am not trying to make you like Kris and I know you never will.  I will say you are totally wrong about every song sounding the same but of course you won't check out his new cd to see how wrong you are.

Anyway my point is not trying to get you to like him.  my point is you being so upset about Dalton getting harsh critical things said about him and not being able to get over it and forgive the person but others you don't like you think is fine if they get hurtful crap said of them day in and day out and the people who like them have to just suck it up and accept it..  I am sorry that is hypercritical.

Also sorry but you have.  you have got on FC many times thinking she don't like Dalton and then your off handed remark to Teddy in the Dalton thread the other day when Teddy has been a fan of his from the start.  No one here has said they don't like Dalton, but in your mind if we aren't completely gago over him and saying praise daily it means we don't like him. If you don't believe me check back through the thread especially in regards to stuff said to FC.  Seriously the defensivness has been there the whole time.  You love Dalton and you think he is the most special guy out there right now and that is fine but it is like people have to walk on egg shells when it comes to anything about him.

Angel I did try to listen to Kris's cd and I just didn't like it. If 5 years from now I am still trying to shove Dalton down your or FC throat then you have a beef.

To my ears Dalton is infinitely better than Kris. Way more range, power and control.  That isn't even adding movement or performance ability.

MacKenzie voice has to my ears way more texture and emotional quality. 

But as the season is over, I will leave my opinion about Dalton to his thread for like minded posters.  If I swoop in and bring up Dalton as you do Kris please wap me upside the head.
