LaPorsha can sing.  Do not like her style and I certainly don't care for the constant pimping and OTT praise they lavish on her.  If they want her to win, but I hope they have good luck in marketing her.

As much as I want Dalton to win to hush naysayers, I don't think it would serve his best interests to be tied to AI machine especially with the show going off the air.  He needs to make it to the Finale, though.

Bottom 2 - Trent/Sonika

You know, NONE of us know these kids personally.  We don't know what is going on in their lives, their emotions, if they feel sick, what is going on in their heads at any given moment.  We do NOT know them!

I find it very sad to see things like "Trent is fake and a phony" .  He has ALWAYS seemed like a sweet down to earth guy since the audition on.  Because of a few seconds on screen at a certain moment "we" can judge his character??  I find that very sad and unfair to him.

I think all these kids seem like good and sweet people.  I remember when I had to see my fave a few seasons back called "a bitch" because of something they "thought" they saw or didn't see regarding Sam.  Which wasn't true at all and her and Sam were close and guess what - she isn't a bitch.  And I don't think Trent is a "fake" person either.  I think his tears about him missing his family were completely genuine.  I think his head was about his upcoming package and seeing his best friend who died.  About singing the song that reminds him about missing his mom.

What a shame to be so judged because of a few seconds on screen where someone didn't think you were doing what you should have been doing.  So glad neither my family nor myself are ever in that situation because I know how it would feel.

I don't know this kids personally, but my assumption is they are all good people.  You might not like the way one sings, or looks, or wears their hair - but you don't know them.

And Canear - you didn't say you didn't like Adam's song.  You said you "Don't get any of the rest of them (nobody good but Dalton) and you didn't "get Adam either".  Sounds like more than not liking the song.  Maybe that is what you meant - but it sure didn't come across that way.

Well as contestants behavior expressions yawning have always been discussed.  That is what Idol fans do. I didn't screen capture the expression, everyone in every blog has an opinion on it.  I will not apologize for how that expression hit me.  Everyone is allowed to have an opinion.  

I only like Mac and Dalton. I won't apologize for that either

No one says you are not allowed an opinion.  So I am allowed mine also.  And my opinion is we shouldn't judge someone's character when we do not know much about them personally. A yawn?  Tired perhaps?  Like all of them say they are so tired?  Like Dalton looks so tired?  Working their butts off every day of the week for long hours - 10:00 until 10:00 as Dalton and Mac said?  Sometimes a yawn is just a yawn.  Or did he purposely yawn for the camera so that all of America would know he didn't like the performance?  Is that actually what some people think?  Would he be THAT stupid?? 

I always support Adam and I will buy the new single.  Fortunately, I do like it.

I said what I said FC.  I don't get this new song.  It isn't different from what he has been doing that hasn't connected in North America.  He is obviously happy doing this music and is sticking with it and that is his choice.  He has a successful career.  He has chosen to stay in his lane and that is his prerogative.  I prefer his working with Queen musicwise now and will enjoy that when the time comes.  

Anyhow......as for judging the contestants, it is no different than any other season.  They are on a national tv show, they are judged.  Opinions formed one way or the other because everyone sees things differently or how they choose to see them.  I've stated my opinions so I won't repeat them.

FWIW - I had DVR'd the whole 2 hours of Idol the other night as I had a feeling I might want to watch it again.

So I decided to watch it just now to see again all that took place.

First off - for ME Adam was simply amazing!!  Will love him forever!

Second - what yawn???  I made it a point to watch Trent's parts and even double watch and I saw no yawn.  It sure wasn't after Dalton sang.  No, he wasn't clapping - but he wasn't yawning either.

Hathor - you said in your text he didn't applaud for Mac either.  Not true.  He was clapping away after Billie Jean - which had a bigger crowd reaction than Dalton had.  So I do not think that was the issue at all.

The part where JLO was crying talking to Trent and he started to cry was very, very genuine on both their parts.  Afterwards - Trent was hugging with Dalton and had his head buried in Dalton's chest.  I do not think for one minute there are any issues between the two.  I think it was just a very emotional evening for all of them - including the judges.

Lastly, watching Trent do Simply Man on the big screen and with the surround sound,  for ME was just amazing!!!  Absolutely my fave vocal of the night!!  Yes, that is just MY opinion I know.  But my mom loved it and I loved it!  And I agree with the judges - he and Adam doing a duet would be fabulous!!!

So my bias for Mac aside, I think Trent deserves to win.  I really will be surprised if he doesn't make final 2.  If I had not already fallen for Mac between The Voice and the audition - Trent would be my fave.  Love him!

All just MY opinion of course.

But I may look for You Tubes to prove he applauded for Mac and wasn't yawning after Sound of Silence.  Not on camera during the televised show anyway

The yawn was about Jason Castro and the big deal made about his yawning by fans. Not Trent. Trent had a stank face and didn't clap.

I re-watched myself. I disagree that Billie Jean had more applause.  They had to silence the fans after SOS.  I think all top 5 had a big response. 

As for Trent, he would never ever put out music I would like or buy. He is not current. Radio won't play him. But you like him FC great. I do not like his nasally tone or OTT singing. Never liked that kind of singing.  

I actually would rather have Sonika safe and Trent booted.

Well, on my TV if seemed more for Mac   Either way, I do not think that had anything at all to do with it.  He applauded for everyone else including LaP who OF COURSE got the most crowd reaction of anybody.  Maybe he just "didn't get Dalton"   

If Trent put out music like Simply Man I would buy it in a heartbeat!!  And I absolutely have loved his voice since audition rounds.

Who from these shows makes it big anymore??  No stars since Phillip from Idol and no stars from The Voice.  No stars from America's Got Talent (singing wise anyway) since the little girl opera singer YEARS ago.

I have no delusions that Mac winning will make him a big star either.....  Nothing happened for him after The Voice.  I love the guy but I will be shocked if after Idol he makes it big.  Or even small.

Dalton's best shot is fronting a band.  I think he could find success with that.  He kinda needs the visual and all the imagery on stage that would work with a band.

LaP will probably win and I don't think she will go anywhere either.  The Voice has had some of the most amazing black diva singers to walk the planet and where are they???   

It's great that we have these shows.  They are great fun for the viewers and give these people a shot.  But there sure are no guarantees for any of them.  It's sad....  I wish all these people all the best - the ones on Idol and the ones on The Voice.  All talented.  All with big dreams.  And most all will end up back at their day job..... 

I have downloaded all of Sawyer's stuff.  All I can do for him.  I have all of Jess's stuff you can downloaded - all I could do for her.   Whatever I can get of Mac's I will.  He had an EP after The Voice but I didn't follow him and missed out on it.  Hopefully there will be something to get after Idol.

I will do the same for Trent if it works out for him.  Dalton too if he records something to my liking.  As you know his voice doesn't really move me - but his music might. 

So it's just a wait and see with all these guys......

I would give anything for the 3 guys to make top 3, but I know that LaP will punch a hole in that dream....    Not saying she is not deserving.  She is a talented and sweet lady (with the most darling baby)  but just the least of my cuppa of any of the ones left.

Top 3 for me would be Mac, Dalton and LaPorcha. 

I think or fear that bus is heading for Dalton. The song change from Stop to Numb? Stop was a stolen moment for Dalton.  

I pray my gut is wrong and Dalton makes top 4.

Oh no - he will make Top 4 for sure!!  He has the fan base.  I will be shocked if anyone other than Sonika leaves this week.  That will make Top 4 LaP, Trent, Mac and Dalton.

I fear Mac leaves at number 4.  I just think of the 4 that will remain after Sonika that it is Mac who probably has the least chance of making Top 3.  He is not the powerful singer like LaP and Trent and he is not the "visual" performer that Dalton is.  He is the simple quiet singer/songwriter.  He has a good size fan base but I do not think he has the type of performances that will grab the more casual voter who votes based on the performances from that night.  And I think LaP gets most of those anyway. 

It is going to be sad after Sonika goes because all 4 of the remaining kids are talented and sweet people and it is going to be hard to say goodbye.  LaP ain't my cuppa but sweet lady who has had a tough life and is a single mom and you can't help but wish her well.    It will be tough for ME to say goodbye to any of the 4 after Sonika.  And nothing against Sonika at all - just not one of my faves.  I lost all my fave girls long before now.....

I would love to comment and share my thoughts but 1) I don't have the time since I have to clock in for work and 2) I just can't get completely invested and swallowed into the show this time. My heart isn't in it. Maybe larer on when I have the time I'll write up something even it night bot be worth much.

I sure would love to read them Teddy. I can understand if you don't care to, though.

Sorry you can't get invested in this season.  I think it's been a great group of kids.  But FOX sure did mess with the show by cutting the season so short and only one day a week. 

I did just buy Adam's new song though!!  What's $1.29 to support an artist one loves!!

I don't think you have anything to worry about for Top 4.  And if it's not Sonika going it will be Mac and I will cry......  because he won't get the hometown visit he wants so badly.  It will break my heart.

I truly believe Top 3 with be LaP, Trent and Dalton.  Who makes top 2 after that?? It's going to be whoever gives killer performances on Top 3 night!  They will have 3 songs I believe to blow people away. 

I will be happy if any of the 3 guys win!!  I honestly will.  I will only be disappointed if LaP wins.  So I am already prepared to be disappointed   But all 3 of the guys left are really good!

Well FC I will stop watching once Dalton and Mac are gone if they go.  They are the only reason I watch.

Sadly once one goes the other will inherent the others fanbase. Hopefully that is enough for the win.

Well I am lucky in that I will be able to watch the finale either way because I am sure one of the 3 guys will make it!  I do not think final 2 will be LaP and Sonika.

It would be super sweet if it were Mac and Dalton!  They are roomies and good friends like Adam and Kris.  One is rock and one is singer/songwriter like Adam and Kris.  One wears black and guyliner and one is real down to earth like Adam and Kris!     It would be so nice!!

But I do not see Mac in the final 2 no way no how....    Not with LaP there and getting pushed so hard by the judges.  And she is really good....  so, it ain't gonna happen. 

I can't imagine missing the final night of Idol!  I am sure so many from the previous seasons will be there and past judges and I think the Goodbye is going to be really, really special!!  I will cry for sure.  15 years of Idol!  I can't even imagine not having it in our lives anymore.  My mom will cry big time!  She loves the show so so much! She loves Ryan and Keith and Harry and seeing the kids sing and the musical guests.  Calling me after everyone sings   She loves the excitement of the finale.  It's going to be really, really sad.....

FC, I have no choice but to miss the finale week. Terry booked a trip to Puerta Valletta before it was known that Idol was having such a short season.

If Dalton and Mac or one of them isn't in the finale, I will just enjoy my vacation and not be trying to find Idol on TV or stuck on my Facebook and here reading. 

I mean Adam won't be on, unlikely Chris will be back, no word Jason has been asked and Phillip is in a battle so I doubt he will be there.

I am not fond of LaPorcha or Trent. Neither do anything for me.  

So FC you really think Sonika will outlast Mac aND Dalton?. I think only if Nigel enforces "the clause" and pulls one Sonika doesn't have the fanbase to beat either boy.  No way.

Where did you come up with that??!!  My first sentence was I do NOT think Sonika and LaP will be final 2!!     My point was since I like all 3 guys I know I will enjoy the final 2 because I know at least one of the guys will make final 2!

No, I am pretty sure Sonika leaves this upcoming week.  And if by some chance she does make it past this week (and Mac goes instead) then she will leave next week.  No way she is lasting that long. 

I completely forgot you will not be here for the finale.  But even if I was on vacation I would find a way to see it.  I think it is going to be super special!

OH, and I think if Mac goes his votes to to Dalton and I think if Dalton goes his votes go to Mac - at least of those who will continue to vote.

I think Mac and Dalton's votes will go to Trent if he is in the final 2 with LaP.  Trent is Southern and if he goes before Mac and Dalton I think his votes could go to Mac who is also Southern.  Or maybe they would go to LaP because I was just reading that they are super duper close and love each other a lot so maybe that will enter into the picture

I guess I miss read. Daltons votes would not go to Trent. Trent is universally not liked by Dalton fans.

Now I am really ticked off that Tristan is gone just found on Mj's that the top 5 will be putting out studio recordings of their songs on Itunes.  I wanted studio recordings of Tristan's songs, Mac's You Are So Beautiful and Sonika's Bring Me To Life but they were said to not be doing the studio recordings this year.  Now they are going to start them but I won't get those songs from Tristan, Mac or Sonika   It freaking sucks!!   I seriously may be done with Idol except for the three day Finale.  I have to see my Kris who has said he would be there all three days.  i am tired of them saying they are done with doing stuff and then they throw it back in.  The studio recordings should of been in there from the beginning of the top 10 so all fans could get their faves songs.

Eta: it won't be all songs.  For instance this Thursday they get to choose which one to record!
