| Yes, points for him. This is a strange world where Caleb is AI winner and Adam is not. | |

| Ok for me it SUCKS and is blasphemy that karaoke Caleb won and original wonderful, talented Adam did not. I will never get over that ever.
But it was nice of Caleb to be so exuberant about Queen and Adam.
Love the poster.

| It is GREAT for Alex. Phillip after the show said he really enjoyed Alex and Sam and he spent time with them. So this clue I hope has to do with that connection.
Maybe Sam is postponing college?

| Maybe he's going to pull a Scotty and work on his career and college at the same time. My first thought was an announcement that Alex has been signed. I doubt he would be getting gigs with Phillip if he wasn't. I would so die if Alex and Phillip ever toured together!!! Alex posted on FB asking for people to submit tapes and videos if they wanted to be in his band. So something is up!! | |

- American Idol Live will play its last concert next Saturday in Redmond WA. After, the nine finalists on tour will take off for far flung parts of the country to begin their careers in music as Idol alums.
Winner, Caleb Johnson, will likely buckle down to promote his debut album, Testify. Runner-up, Jena Irene, has hinted at a possible record deal, but fans still wait for news either way.
Considering American Idol’s diminishing ratings and the lack of enthusiasm for the tour, (and Caleb’s record OOF!) it would be surprising if any of the finalists were signed to label deals.
In fact, fifth place finisher Sam Woolf, casually drops news on his official website, that American Idol decided not to sign him. A day later he joined forces with a Grammy winning music producer, his bio states.
One day after American Idol elected not to exercise their recording contract option with Sam in August 2014, independent Grammy winning producer Danny Blume agreed to produce Sam’s originals for release.
Also, did you know that Sam impressed the Idol recording team by only needing two takes to cut his Idol studio tracks? Well, now you do. Also, Sam makes clear in the bio that he has put off attending Berklee school of Music for a year to pursue a music career.
Sam has deferred for one year an offer of admissions to the Berklee College of Music for Fall 2014, which is the world’s premier contemporary music school, with a full tuition package of grants and scholarships.
Now that he is free of Idol and has put off college, hopefully Sam will expand his world a little. If he can allow himself to be vulnerable while tapping into the pain that seemed to always be lurking beneath the surface–there will be no stopping the young singer.

| That would tickle me so much Canear! From the jump after I got over loosing Spencer, I loved Alex and Sam. They are so marketable, current and write and play.
Hopefully both can make a decent living in the music biz.
I will copy u and buy whatever those two release.

| If it said he had no plans of going at all I would be weary but for now he's only going to be taking a year off. I don't see anything wrong with that since many people decide to defer for a year. Sam has to do what feels right for him right now. I'm sure if there wasn't anything in the works he would have gone right to Berklee. I just want him to be happy and find success. Like canear and Hathor I will be supporting him all the way. (Alex too!) | |

| Scotty won and with all his obligations he still went to college. Too many say they will take a break and then never go. Scotty was very smart. | |

| Scotty was able to take on-line courses FC, Berklee does not have those.
I always say, hit the iron while it is HOT. It is HOT right now so IMO Sam has to follow his dream, record, get his music out and see what happens. IMO college can wait. I worked at colleges for 30 years taking a year off in many instances better prepares the student.
I am with Teddy in that Sam never said he wouldn't ever go back, he just took a year off. If his music career doesn't fly, then to Berklee next year.

| Kids never say they won't go back, and yet statistics prove so many don't go back. Hopefully he will.
I get the iron is hot thing. I guess I personally don't think he is going to be some huge success in the recording industry and a free ride at Berklee is one heck of an amazing opportunity.
He was in the bottom a few times and left at #5. The tour was a bust so he was not a big draw. Idol passed on him. I just think his future as a successful recording artist is iffy at best. But I guess we shall see.... People here thought E3 would be big and it fell apart and the 3 of them are not even together anymore and that was with a big push from Simon Cowell and touring with Selena. It ain't easy out there in the music biz right now.

| Nope it isn't easy, but to try is important.
The scholarship and aid will wait.
The opportunity no matter how small will not.

| Yes, it is important to try and I give him props for that. I guess for me I have just seen so many super talented young people from Idol, The Voice and X-Factor who seemed to have everything it takes to make it, and nothing..... Never to be heard from again.... It's so sad. I thought Angie would be big. I thought someone would sign Jess (a country label) I thought Kree would make it big in country music, Skylar too. Neither even signed with anybody. And goodness so many from The Voice who were amazing and nothing. The track record is just so bleak. All that hype around Austin Mahone and his album came out and a hardly anyone bought it, which shocked me.
Well, good luck to him. Hope he is tough.
