It is sunny today but FREEZING only 36 degrees. Burr

Terry has to take off our counter top so we will be without for a week or so until the granite is installed. Ugh should make cooking pleasant. NOT   

Off to the doctor I go!  Whee! Happy Birthday to me!! 

Hope your doctor gives you something to help you feel better.

Oh cool Hathor on the granite.

He put me on a Z-Pac.  I tested negative for strep though so that is good.  Just a little sinus infection.

glad you were prescribed a Zpac. My sinus infection cleared in 3 days with the Z Pac.

Canear because Home Depot is coming tomorrow to measure for the cutting of our granite.

They need to measure where the granite will sit not on top of the existing counter top. I do not know why this is but it is a requirement. Which means I will be counterless for 2 weeks or so.

Can you not set part of it back in place after they measure?  What about the sink and taps?   

Will the sink be overmount or undermount?

Oh goodness!!  No counters for two weeks??!!  Hope you are not the one having Easter Dinner next Sunday!!    

But it will all be worth it in the end!

FC, that's good news about no step throat. Boo about the small sinus infection. I'm glad the doctor put you on a Z-Pac as no doubt that will make you feel better soon.

Hathor, I feel for you having to go without countertops for two weeks. I hated it when my parents did ours. I hated it even more when they redid the floor in the kitchen. BLAH! Hopefully it doesn't get too crazy or stressful.

Canear, Terry did put some of the counter back on but it is only resting on top not secure.

Briah is coming for dinner so I made my Hawaiian Ham with roasted potatoes and broccoli with Chocolate Mousse for desert with a giant strawberry on top. I have my grandpup Millie for the weekend.   

Hathor your dinner seriously has me salivating. OMG. I cannot wait for the day to visit and meet you and try your food!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow FC, you are one lucky lady!!  That is so wonderful!

Dinner sounds awesome Hathor.  You can count on me paying you a visit sometime as well!  Perhaps next spring.  We should all pick a month to aim for.  Sounds like you missed Millie.   

Hathor that sounds so yummy. I made a lasagna with Bolognese and béchamel sauce. Making a side salad to go with it. So now don't have to cook tomorrow as we will have leftovers.

Hathor, how funny we both picked the same white bag!  I love having the solid leather COACH bags for when you don't want a bag with a print.  I have 2 black ones, 1 brown, 1 red, 1 gray, 1 yellow and 2 purple.  So I was missing a white one for the summer.  Someday I will get a blue one, a green and a coral.  

Hathor and Kate, you both cook such interesting and wonderful sounding meals!  If you lived near each other you could open a catering business!!


Oh, and Justin brought pizza for dinner.  Pizza he handmade himself!  He tossed the dough and everything!  The pizza chief taught him.  It was super yummy.

I would love to have a catering business. I love to cook. It is a joy.

I like cooking but my kitchen is a bit tight here. I'd love a double oven an more counter space. It is functional but hard for really big dinners. Even the houses are a bit on the small side but more room for a double oven. I am going to back to electric burners when this one dies. Sear's has a stainless steel oven with burners and the top flips up for easy cleaning. Frigadaire makes it for them. Same oven as we have now except with burners. I just loath the smooth top. Eggs just will never come the damn glass top even with the Ceramic cleaner. Plus I here cast iron is not good on smooth top and I want to get some.

Kate, I am getting a double oven. I can't wait. A double oven with grill in  between 6 burners.

   I want gas but have to keep with electric. I am used to it now so not so bad.

Good morning and YAY for Friday!!!!!!

64 and sunny today!! YoHoo!!!!!!!!!

Rob and Eric are going to stay with Ty this morning while I run to Kohls for my new shoes with my 30% and gift card.  Then after I put Ty on the bus I am going to Woodman's for our groceries as the weekend is predicted to be stormy and a washout.  So I want to get out and enjoy this day!!  When I get back Eric is going to go get my mom and take her shopping at her Jewel/Osco.

Hathor, I greatly enjoyed my birthday even though I have this little infection.  Great gifts and great pizza and tons of emails and texts and cards so I felt the love!  The weather was lovely!  And today will be a continuation of the weather and gifts!  Just hope I can find those nice Sketchers GO shoes for walking.

BTW - Eric's birthday gift to me is he promised to do all the housework two weekends in a row!!  Very sweet!  Can't wait to see how that goes    

Yes Teddy, it was so extra special to eat the pizza when Justin made it himself!  He had fun tossing the dough around
