| I'll never forget a stay in Palm Springs, CA and walking outside in the morning and there were snails everywhere! Here, I only have slugs and I detest them, just thinking about them sends shivers! There is NO WAY I would ever knowingly eat a snail. gross | |

| Well on my week off I have managed to watch some morning programmes that I don't usually see."This Morning" which is a lifestyle type prog - with 2 of the worst gigglers as presenters! Followed by "Loose Women" sort of a chat/discussion programme Best of all they are both live Here is an example of some of the things that happen.... Phil & Fern (This Morning) losing total control https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZU6EDSu8ho&feature=relatedAnd the Loose Women team not doing much better!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gs98RDRmiu4 I challenge anyone not to break into a giggle at the least at these! | |

| I always go to 'View new posts' when I come here, but if I don't have time and have to leave before I get through all the new posts, the ones you don't view then become 'old' and don't show up as unread. I'll have to pay more attention! :) | |

| Well Mum & Sis are back from their week away, both still speaking to each other! The place they were staying had upgraded them to a massive "High Barn" house, with views everywhere.Mum said that one morning she looked out the window & saw this fog stuff going past her massive picture window, only to realise it was a cloud! They had to drive though a track to the house, which had gravel down but went through fields of cows & then sheep with cattlegrids seperating them & on the first day my sister noticed one sheep had managed to get across the cattlegrid & was "BAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" ing for all it's life! Well she tried to get it through the little "person" gate..to no avail (it had probably heard about her archery!!!) however the sheep further up were REALLY interested in what she was doing!! Next minute she was surrounded by sheep with the little on still BAHHHH ing away the other side! (mum btw was sat in the car laughing hysterically & reaching for her oxygen) One sweet thing though that Mum told me, where they went on holiday was where both my sister & I had been born (Oh gawd...you wanna hear about when Mum gamve birth to my sister!!! lmao!!!) Anyway, we have thing called the WI (Women's Institute....dunno if you have a similar thing in the states) & when Mum was living in that village in the late 40s early 50s the WI used to have to meet in each others houses. They decided to try & get a place of their own & pushed to buy a wooden hut that had originally been for the WAFF etc & did raffles, concert parties, market stalls to buy it.When Mum was back there she saw the place, went over & saw it was a bit different, but asked a woman who just came out of the building. The woman was sooooooooooooo interested in what Mum had to say & also the fact that Mum knew the inside of the building. They spoke about people who had lived in the village when Mum had lived there & she even told Mum she couldn't believe her age :D Bless, the woman was so disappointed that Mum wouldn't be there at the next meeting, after all, Mum was a founder member! | |

| Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Briefly....Mum went into labour, was rushed to the hospital (well rushed as they could do in 1952 Dec north UK with snow!) & more or less gave birth to my sister on the stairs on the way to the Maternity ward. Dad had been sent a message & went to find Mum...missed the birth..because he had gone to the building next door, which at that time was called the Mental Asylum (thank GOD they don't do that these days!!!) I'm sure you can imagine my Mum's response when he explained why he wasn't there!! Funny, I was born at home....though Dad had prolly wandered back to the building next door to the hopital when he saw me | |

Adrift, you have the BEST stories!
I've got one, but it won't be posted in 'what made you smile today'. If you do find the one I post, it will be in the 'vent' section, if we have one, and beware of foul language. | |

| I did one of those silly quizzes "What were you in a former life" No laughing now!!!!!...I was a *drum roll...& fanfare...* penguin! Hmmmmmmmmmm...& what a crap penguin I would make! I hate the cold & I can't swim! So logic tells you that rather than being promoted in the next life...I was demoted to be a "Drifty" I'm further down the food chain than a penguin (OHHHHHHHHHH just thought...I could have been promoted as being the Penguin that started the "Save the Carbon Monoxide detectors ) | |
