It was a great day, even with the nasty weather. Our son, DIL and GS's took us out to dinner at the Spaghetti Factory. I hadn't been there (at least to this new location) and the food was wonderful and I love spending time 'out' with all of them. I wish my other Son and his family could have joined us, but they live in AZ. It would have been even nicer had he called to wish me Happy Birthday....

Oh no that's horrible Sky!!! I'm sorry he didn't call you..............at least that would have somewhat made up for him not being there with you. That's quite awful to miss your mom's birthday. My sister happened to make that mistake last year and it wasn't very pretty. My mom was so incredibly hurt.

I'd like to say, I'm use to it, but yes, it does 'sting' a bit. At least my GD could be trained to remember?
He'll eventually remember and call and say he's sorry and how busy he is, and he is, but still............

Sky, I am glad you got to go out to dinner with family. I hear that restaurant is wonderful. I have never been to one.

Honestly, yeah it's bad your son forgot but I also blame the wife. Men are bad about that kind of stuff - even knowing the date on the weekends. Women are much better about stuff like birthdays and anniversaries. I always have made sure that Rob called his folks on their birthdays and anniversaries if they fell on days we couldn't be with them. So even though your son forgot I am surprised his wife didn't make sure he called.

Oh well, you know he loves you. Men just are kinda bad sometimes with these things. Like you say - it will hit him and he will call. Then that day will be special!

I love the Spaghetti factory is one in Costa Mesa and we used to go there a lot when my daughter lived here, it was always so busy and lot of wait.

My son and GK called tonight with "I'm so sorry I forgot your Birthday". I told then to get calendars and mark it down, no present is needed (after they asked) but a phone call is all that's needed ON my Birthday!
