FC, just so you know, there is someone who has been defending Adam the past day or so on CV.

Well, that is cool - but I cannot go to that place. Way tooooo scary for an Adam fan. Some of the meanest comments ever I saw at that place. I would need a suit of Armour and a big can of bug spray!

FC, don't ever go to the equal opportunity hater sites like Survivor Sucks or Vote for the Worst cos man, they can get vicious! And that's for both Clay and Adam! And no, especially in terms of VFTW, it's not always a fan war thing.

Oh I know that! I never read those sites! They are cruel!! I don't like TWOP either! I will never forget The Big Fat Greek thread for Constantine! Plus I have seen TWOP posts about very young contestants that are beyond cruel! SOOOOOO not my thing at all!

I think Clayversity bothers me so much because I always thought Clay fans and all that they have been through would NEVER think to post such horrible things about somebody - especially the gay jabs! Boggles....

One thing I've noticed is that much of the vitriol aimed at Adam is really about his fans which is pretty much the situation with Clay. I admit to being hypocritical since I'll laugh when I read mean but funny posts about Adam and shake my fist when I read the same kinds of posts about Clay, but most of the posts about "fraus", etc. are so OTT that it just gets boring.

To clarify, when I say "mean but funny", I'm talking about the kinds of posts where maybe someone finds a picture or a performance and people snark about it. That happens with all the Idols, not just Clay or Adam or Danny Gokey or whoever you enjoy. It's when it deteriorates into diatribes about fat fraus, etc. that it gets dull.

This isn't really a rant but I did not know where to post it since it deals with two people. I have been seeing a lot of people saying that Kris and Tommy are both Gay or Bi but are not out. I see it most on Kris and it is people on ADAM Online and Candy Glam that keep it going the most. They say that he doesn't love Katy anymore and that he and Adam are having this secret affair. It is really starting to bug me. Kris says he is straight and Adam says it; If Kris turns out to be bi,(I say bi cause he indeed loves woman for sure), then so be it let him come to terms with it in his own way and stop making Katy out to be some mean ass Monster who is keeping Kris away from Adam. You guys aren't doing this this is what these other people are doing. It is so bad on Adam online in the Kradam forum that I can't even go in there for the most part cause they are always saying crap about Katy and dissing her and then being disrespectful to Adam and Kris with their post.

For Tommy I don't follow him but as far as I have heard he does all this stuff with Adam cause it is ROCK and Roll. I have heard that Tommy has a girl friend. So like Kris if he turns out to be Bi then that is fine I just hope he is able to come to terms with that in his time frame.

I guess my thing is on some of the public boards especially Adam Online this kind of talk is being to be talked about especially on Kris's side. Somebody is going to end up getting hurt and when it comes to Kris and Adam the one that is going to get hurt is Katy cause some of these people are so over the top that they have said they plan on talking to Adam about making a relationship with Kris happen. I know Adam won't listen and he will look at them like they are psycho but it still will be out there and will get put on video probably and I know Katy will see this stuff cause I have heard many times that Katy gets sent stuff. I don't want to see anybody hurt.

Okay I know this doesn't make sense I just needed to get it out my thoughts and system.

Okay this it crazy. Some Adam fans are mad at Pink for putting WWFM on her cd this is so stupid. IT is her song yes she let Adam have it but she wrote it so she still has rights to it and can do with it what she wants. If she wants to give it to a zillion people that is her right.

For the record lots of people do this. They write a song, give it to someone, they put it on their cd and then you find the song on the writers cd also. I can name some now.

Song writer Beth Nielson Chapman has written songs for Trisha Yearwood, Martina Mcbride and many others and you will find the songs on their cd's plus her own. Victoria Shaw another songwriter has written many songs for many artist and they will be on their cd's and hers. I see nothing wrong with doing this. It is kind of nice hearing the different versions. Also I have never heard or seen people getting ticked off with Beth or Victoria for doing this and acting like these ladies are stealing something. The songs are theirs.

Here is one song I am talking about.

Down On My Knees: This song was given to Trisha Yearwood for her first cd and it is amazing and Trisha sounds awesome. The song showed up on Beth Nielson Chapman's cd soon after. This was said to be one of the best songs that Beth had written.

Another song. Where Your Road Leads is a great song from Trisha which was on her fourth cd I believe but is also on Victoria Shaw's cd. Victoria wrote a beautiful song.

Happy Girl is a song that Martina Mcbride had on one her cd's and I believe released as a single even. Beth Nielson Chapman has it on her Sand and Water cd. Beth writes really great stuff.

I think my whole point in showing these videos is that someone can put out a song and have it be wonderful and turn into a hit but it shouldn't make it where it is not okay for the person who wrote it to record it also and put it out. They have all the right in the world to do it and it does not make them bad people for wanting to do it.

Sorry if this pisses people off but I now know it so many of the Adam fans are turning into exactly what I hated about the Clay fans. Many are doing sooooooooooooooooo much of the same crap. I know for a fact Clay lost a lot of fans cause they were sick and tired of his overall fan base,(They were tired of constantly being called non fans and sick of having other artist they liked dissed at every turn cause the ClayMates felt CLAY was better than them all. I can name about 50 to 60 people who left in a mass exodus during one month where they were getting mad cause some claymates took to PMing you and reading you the riot act for liking other artist and supporting them.) and I fear it is going to happen to Adam if they don't stop.

Why I say this is comments like these:

I can't even remember now how many times I heard that Clay is the only good voice out there and that no one can compare. When someone would say that Clay is not the best and that Josh Groban can sing just as well if not better at times. The Clay fans had a cow and would say that anybody that liked others were not true fans. I betcha if anybody post a comment in that Adam thread and says there is other amazing singers out there the person will be beaten down.

ETA: Another thing that was always said "since I found Clay I just can't listen to anything other than my Clay cd's." I have read a few Adam fans say they have given up listening to radio and a lot of their cd's cause no one sounds good to them anymore. It is just the same thing for the two.

You guys can disagree with me but I have been around the Clay fandom too long to not notice all the similarities in what the fans are saying about Adam. The fan base is acting like Adam is all there is in music and that is what the Claymates did and do still. I love Clay and Adam both but many in the fan bases seriously scare me. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO over the top. I seriously hope this doesn't come and hurt Adam like it did with Clay.

ETA: As we know I am so not a fan of Lee's but dang they are being really hard on him.

To be fair though, it isn't just Clay and/or Adam fans who do that. I'm on boards for several other Idols and I see that "My Idol is the greatest of all time and no one can touch anything he does" or "OMG how could anyone do (insert name of song) after (insert name of Idol) so totally killed it back in (insert season)!" sentiment all the time.

Really you have to wonder how the show manages to keep being the number 1 show when apparently everyone stops watching it the minute they find their favorite Idol.

Exactly Badger. And it's not just Idol fans who think like this. Fans of Xtina and Lady G and others believe nobody can touch their "Idol". I just don't see the point in getting worked up about it. It's limited to diehard on-line fans and not the majority of fans. Frankly, people who are on a fan board of a certain artist have the right to flail about said artist and share their feelings with their fellow board mates. If they think their fave artist is the best singer ever - so what. If they think nobody else sings a certain song as well - so what. They are entitled to their feelings and if their board allows them to do so - well, so what

But they do not have a right to go and take over the board. I was a staff member on the Clayboard so I know some of the stuff that happened on there that some others don't. Nobody has a right to go and send PM after PM after PM to a person harassing them constantly cause they are fans of other artist and then saying cause they are fans of others they don't care about Clay or Adam or whoever and are a completely bad fan. I and many others got many of those pm's cause we liked so many of the idols and not just Clay and the Claymates hated that. So many people tried their hardest every season to get the AI thread closed because as they put it "Idol Found Game Over". They would purposely come in and start fights and that was in hopes the mods would get fed up with the fighting and lock the thread. So many of them even went as far as doing all they could to get the other music and the other entertainment forums totally taken away. Luckily Emi and Tina and Elspeth never buckled to the wishes. So many of the Claymates were so over the top that they got very very rude and hateful in post to other members and to the artist that their was threads for. You guys saw how ugly the Adam thread got well think of that for many of the other artist threads to. Some of the hateful members did get in big trouble but as soon as Emi, Tina and Elspeth left all that went to pot and some of the people that were brought in to moderate pretty much went with the hateful folks.

It also matters cause being Hateful to other people is not the way to keep the artist you love keeping his or her fans.

I'm surprised you or anyone even stayed at that board then, because that is how you can stop it....don't go there, turn off your pm's, don't read it. You know the saying on boards......."don't feed the trolls".

I'm not saying it's right, but you don't have to put up with it.

Well when they were sending me the pm's I was still a member of the staff so I kind of felt I owed Emi to stay on. Also being on the staff I had to keep my pm's on so if people needed to contact me over a thread.
,(Emi and Tina were very kind to me so I didn't want to bail on them. When those two left if got harder. When all heck really started to break loose I was at the point I pretty much only posted in the entertaiment threads and talked to my friends. Also before that stuff had gone on the new mods had displaced me from the staff and never even let me know it. I found out one day when I went to go ask a question in the mods forum. Emi and Tina would of never done that and that is when I knew things were never to be the same on the clayboard),

Most people were on that board for over 6 years and had made close friends with many so honestly people that did stay around even with the abuse they took was really to be with their friends cause they didn't want to leave them. They had given up on the Fan base for the most part but stayed to be with their friends.

If I would not of been banned,(for no good reason ugh still so pissed I was banned over a freaking picture of Kris and Adam). I admit I would probably still be checking out the music threads to keep my precious threads updated. They have probably fell by the wasteside now :(

Well, in all fairness to those of us who responded to you - your first post was only about fans who think their Idol is the best singer and nobody sings the songs as well. There was nothing in that post about people who harass others via PM. That is a totally different matter.

When it comes to them posting about their fave being the best etc. - I say there is nothing wrong with that at all. If they choose to only listen to their fave singer's CD - while I think it is a shame to limit yourself to so little music, there is nothing wrong with it and I really don't care what other people choose to spend their time listening to.

The matter of being harassed via PM is a whole other issue entirely. That should never be tolerated and any board Admin that let's people do that deserves to have people leave his/her board. I myself would never stay at a board that allowed that - especially if I were one of the people being harassed. As a board Admin myself I know that if anyone here was doing that to a fellow member that poster would be banned.

The PMing is a whole different issue than diehard fans posting their devotion to an artist. I stand by my opinion that they are entitled to feel that way and post so.

Personally, if I was a member of a board like that, I'd leave. You can tell your friends there that you will talk to them via email or FB or something. There are always choices.

The 50 or 60 people I mention there actually did leave the board totally cause of the hateful pm's and one of them actually was a mod. They were attacking her cause she loved the guy who won WORLD IDOL and it got really really ugly on the thread she had made for him. There were more people that that who got who were getting the pm's. I sometimes wonder if how were so many were acting to others is one of the reasons Emi sold the board and left and same with Tina. I wouldn't blame them if it was the reason. When we started the board Emi had such high hopes for it and it ran for about three years with No problems at all and people were sooooooooooooooooooo kind. Maybe it got sooooooooooo big that it was harder to keep all respecting the rules and be considerate of the the other members.

I think it is sad and rather disturbing when anyone becomes a fan of anybody to the point that they think anyone that doesn't like their "love" is just worthless. I have heard it on Clay boards, I read it on Adam boards and I am sure it goes on at all of them. I don't have to read it and I can go away and forget it but I worry about people that let an interest in someone that they don't even know, take them over so completely.

They will say in one breath that they know that (insert name) isnt' going to be for everyone but just let anyone out there say that they don't like him, they don't care for his voice, he doesn't put on a good show in their opinion and that person is dead to them, they will never watch or read anything by them again. Where did the idea that everyone has the right to an opinion go?

As I said, I don't have to read it but that sort of obsession bothers me anyway.

I am at good place right now, at least for me. I am not crazy about anyone but I like a lot of people.

Exactly, Jaycee. Everyone has the right to like who they want. Just because someone doesn't like a particular music or someone's lifestyle doesn't mean that someone else does like it. I hope I haven't put anyone down for liking someone that I don't like.

I don't 'get' why some people read remarks or boards that they know will be talking 'trash' about someone they like and then getting all upset about it...........just don't go there or read it.

Unfortunately that sort of thing can pop up on boards that you like most of the time. I don't let it bother me but like I said I worry a bit abuut the people that are so consumed.

I was thinking about those people that want Kris and Adam to be together and who it seems say awful things about Katy. Maybe the things that are said would hurt her but on the other hand if she is laying in bed next to her guy who has shown her how much he loves HER I bet she can just feel sorry or laugh at those people.

Wow - there are people still into that Kradam stuff? So clearly that never was and never will be. Honestly, if Katy sees it I bet she just rolls her eyes. I know I would!

It's all a bit childish. Never once did I fall into that whole Kradam thing, it was hilarious and sad. The fact people still talk about a 'Kradam' thing is annoying. It must be why I stay away from most Adam sites and only follow the others that I like at their pages and sites.
