Hi! It is me, Firecracker!

I decided to start a board and invite a few friends here to have friendly conversations about lots of things!

This board set-up is a little different than any other I have been on, so it will take some getting used to. I think it will work out great though!

You can have avatars and post pictures and all that good stuff!

I look forward to this "new beginning" and new board!

For now my posts user name will be admin. I have registered as Firecracker, but I had to use my hubby's email as I couldn't have two user names with the same email. So the activation email went to his computer and he is at work. I should have that all set-up by tomorrow.

I have just set-up a few forums - well, my son Justin did as it was HARD for this old dog to figure out. I may have him add some more topics at a later date. I just wanted to get the ball rolling.

I am really excited about this new adventure for me! Hopefully running a board will help me to get a little more tech savvy!

I put politics in because I know you and Aerwin are so smart about it and I am not as informed. I don't really have the time to read up on everything (or the desire really - I've had enough reasons to be depressed the last year already ) So I thought if someone wanted to bring good info here it would be good to read. Hey, looks to be some political sex scandals we could discuss!

I may have to get Justin to change the set-up if I cannot get used to the new posts being on top instead of the bottom. It feels like reading backwards. He has me paying him in gas money for setting everything up for us So far he has earned a half of tank! Since I am computer dummy I think he will soon have a full tank of gas! I'm lucky he only has a little Saturn! Good thing Eric with his SUV isn't the one helping

BTW - my signature line is from a song on Clay's new CD entitled "As Long As We're Here". It is about making the most of our time on this planet loving and helping people. He heard the demo on his way home from a UNICEF trip and the words really got to him. They do to me too. So let's make the most of our time on this board! Loving each other and enjoying each other and helping each other through tough times when and if we need too!

I find the easiest thing to do when you come here is to click on "posts since last visit" and then you can see where to go to read new posts since the last time you were here. I do that at all the boards I go to. Hopefully today I will get my "firecracker" username set-up so I don't have to be "Admin"

HL - my tech adviser sleeps until about 2:00 PM! So no help for a few hours! I would try to fix it myself but I would probably delete everything he set-up like I did last night!

I also don't know how to set the time. Neither did he. Everything was about "mountain time minus

ETA: EEEK! It took a lot of trail and error but I got the time right!!! All on my own!

Whew! I thought maybe you changed your minds, it took so long to get a key for this place!

I'm sad that feelings were hurt and it came to this, but I've seen the controversy, so it's not surprising.

The same thing has happened to me at another board I post at, and a few of us left and started another board. Of course now, we are all 'wrong' for doing it, but you have to do what you have to do.

I'm so glad I got it worked out! I have no idea what happened that you didn't get your activation email. Everyone else did. But now I have it set so that I have to activate and then I can keep an eye on the problem so it doesn't happen to anyone else. There are only a few more I invited that haven't shown up yet.

Yes, it is too bad it came to this. There was just a real case of water and oil for me there. But I have always wanted to start a board! I just never thought I could figure it out. I am so glad that I am proving to myself that this old dog can learn new tricks after all!
