I want to see this movie so much but it hasn't opened here yet. Now with the award show buzz it will be.

I am sorry that when he finally won a big award it was for this trashy film.

I am glad the film and director did not win.

Leo will NOT win the Oscar.  The Globes divide the movies between comedy and dramas.  The Oscars don't.  Leo won for Comedy.  The Oscar will go to Mathew or maybe Bruce Dern.  I hope it is Mathew.

I am so interested in Dallas Buyers Club as my brother was on the first drug cocktail for AIDS. The character Matthew played did so much to bring better drugs into the U.S. for fighting Aids. He may have done in some shady ways but the FDA and others were dragging their feet. Something had to be done as so many were dying way to young.

I so agree!  And I like to see people rewarded for making GOOD important films rather than trashy and glorifying drug use.  And anyone who here who cannot understand where I come from on this subject I have nothing to say to you.  It should be obvious.  I have read a lot about the WOWS and it sounds disgusting to me.  You couldn't pay me to see! I was at ONTD and they are all laughing about how funny it is when he was so fucked up he couldn't get into his car!  Yeah, like that is funny.  Watch someone you love live that life and tell me how funny it is.

Tommy Chong did talk about having Leonardo's character as a cellmate n MacLeans magazine. Quite interesting. Sounds like he did clean up his act and learn that crooked dealing and swindling will never bring you happiness. I still think Dallas Buyers Club is the better movie but I am interested since I worked with some shady brokers lol. Even in legitimate brokerage houses many disgusting things were happening with swindling people and the drugs etc. One of the reasons I was totally umped when I got laid off as I could smell the greed and illegal dealings going on.

No doubt it is a fascinating story.   But 506 F-bombs, endless sex, nudity, orgies, masturbation scenes, candles coming out of butts all done as a comedy????  Why not do a serious film about the man and not be so graphic???  I find it disturbing that Leo wanted such a sleazy film done.  While I understand the man himself was sleazy, the film did not need to be so graphic.  And since it was a comedy nobody can tell me it needed to be done this way for "art".
