AMERICAN IDOL SEASON 12

It wouldn't have mattered who won this season. There was nobody with the star power or hotness to draw people to the tour, it's just not on Candice. Even if Angie had won, I doubt people would be flocking there. I usually go and I'm not because there is nobody there that excites me. Even if there was one person who finished middle of the pack that I liked, I would consider going, this year, nope. Not wasting the $$. Like you said FC, TPTB brought it on themselves.

You need some hot guys who bring in the cougars and the teens and someone who gets the tweens bugging their folks to go. Nobody fit that bill this season. Nobody. And you need diversity. A rock guy who excites. Not endless balladeers.

I know they 'cast' these shows but perhaps for a change they should just let the judges go with their instincts and put through those who excite them. Of course, they would have to be suitable for television but give the judges more free reign or have the voting start sooner like in the Top 40...then they would get an idea of who is more popular then.

Totally surprised AI5 has been the biggest seller. I would have thought AI8 was the biggest.
Idol purposefully disqualified all hot guys to ensure a female won. But gals don't go to concerts to see gals.

No we won't. I would have considered going if someone like Johnny Keyser was performing but with an all girl Top 5 no way.

Nope Canear, whether young or old females prefer going to see guys on the AI tour. To get the ethic female they wanted they are loosing incredible amounts of revenue from the tour and cd sales.

I'm not that surprised AI5 sold best. Taylor was hugely popular as was Chris, Elliott, Kellie, Bucky. It was a really great mix that season. You got rock, country, soul and pop. Cute guys, hot guys, funny girls. Lots of personality and chemistry. That's what you need!

Kree's song is way better and I really thought she had a shot at a country hit with it.

I think Angie sold way more too - but we will never know.....and I bet she isn't even allowed to tell

FC can the song even be released to radio?

It would suck if that awesome song is now buried by the "winners" songs and
can't even be released to radio.

Tour dates scheduled before July 19 have been cancelled. Here’s a statement:
“Production rehearsals have been pushed by a couple of weeks which unfortunately affects some of the early dates on the tour itinerary. All orders will be returned to the credit card of purchase.
The ‘American Idol Live!’ tour now begins on July 19 in Kent, WA and ends in Nashville on August 31.”

I'm not really. As we said on the previous page, there is not a real draw for this tour. Candice and Kree's singles bombed. There is no buzz at all for this group.

(Season 8 was the last tour I attended.)

I've been to most of the tours. Of the ones I missed S5, S6 and S9, S5 is the one I regret not going to and wish I had tried harder to attend. I'm not very interested in going this year but I really wanted to see Angie so I bought tickets. Hopefully many of them will surprise me as often times there are a few who come on strong and stand out way more on tour than they did on the show.

Angie will be great! I think Janelle could be fun and Kree will be good. The rest will be hard to sit through though....

Flipe I have not attended an AI concert since AI8. That was it for me. Before AI8 I never missed the tour.

AI5 was incredible. I really liked how they had contestant 4 duet with 3 before 3's set. It was great. The screaming and applause for Chris nuts and for Taylor.
I really wanted to hear Deandre and P2 but did not wish to sit through the rest.
This year I only want to hear Angie so no way will I sit though 9 meh's.

So it's not officially "official" just yet. I hope whoever gets pulled in to replace them if they're actually leaving the show new juice!! Juice that is positive and fun!

I still say they should let Ryan produce it.

So hope it is true that both Nigel and Ken are gone. I tell ya I am most glad that Ken is gone. I say this cause Ken has been there the whole time even when Nigel was away,(season 8), Ken has been doing a lot of the game playing and it has made me sick. If both guys are gone maybe just maybe we will have a season with no BS and no game playing. So praying

I admit that is very sad that the new ones wouldn't look into having the past idols as judges. In saying that I want the show to be fair with no freaking game playing. i want people like Johnny Kaiser to have a fighting chance to make it to the voting rounds i want it to where people like Fantasia don't get the royal treatment just because she/he is the person the producers and the judges want to win. I want people like Kris/Allison and Jason to be treated like all the rest and not looked at like cannon fodder from the start and not given any air time till hollywood or the voting rounds. I want all contestants treated equal. I pray the new producers take the show seriously.
