I second that Canear I want both Adam and Keith on AI as judges. Keith was a good judge and he put up with the drama without falling into it.

Masterclass list is cool but does she mean Taylor as in Hicks? I wouldn't mind having Taylor with Adam and Keith.

ETA: I think Angie has a beautiful smile! I don't see where she needs to have anything done to it! I did read though that she has some hearing issues and may have to have some sort of surgery on her ears. Did anyone else read about that? Not sure what kind of surgery.

Yes, she has hearing loss in both ears. I believe it is 20% in one ear and 40% in another ear.

Candice was on Leno the other night and did a great job with her new single. She also got couch time before she performed, and she was quite articulate and funny! She seemed very comfortable; good thing because she's got a lot of interview time ahead of her!

“I Am Beautiful” debuts at #39 on Hot Digital Songs. That’s the lowest debut position for an Idol winner’s coronation song since that chart originated in 2004.
Runner-up Kree Harrison’s “All Cried Out,” which would have been her coronation song had she won, sold 24K copies. It enters Hot Digital Songs at #85. It doesn’t enter the Hot 100.

Well this year I'm not going to believe anything until I see the chosen ones on my tv screen........but that won't stop me from speculating!

I seriously do not want to think about it or get my hopes up. I was sooooo disappointed when it didn't happen last time so I really would like to spare myself that same feeling this go around.

I'd love for Adam to be on the panel but I also hope they put some one in the record industry that isn't a performer on the panel as well. I might watch if Adam was on the panel but only if the antics by the producers aren't played.

That is why I would LOVE an all Idol alum judging panel.
They know the producer tricks and they would be less likely to
follow the producers lead.

Then again if Nigel is fired. The manipulation may cease.

So are they saying that Candace's single even sold less than Kara's crappy song that was given to Kris and Adam? Seriously "No Boundries" is the freaking WORST coronation song in AI History,(It only sold cause Kris and Adam fans bought it to support the guys even though most fans hate the song). i honestly did not know that Lee's even sold more than hers.

I am not surprised at all. Not a smidge. First off the song itself is crap. Second of all it is not current, 3rd of all I never saw that big of an on-line fanbase for Candice. She reminded me of Syesha.

Lee had and still does have an intact fanbase. While I never liked him, it sucked that he didn't even get an original song.

It also doesn't seem that viewers support their favs as feverishly as they have in the past. Even P2's Home was not a huge seller until the masses outside the AI bubble embraced it. I do not think Candice's song will catch on.

The Idol PTB were idiots to not back Angie.

I said all along Candice wouldn't sell well. Not a market right now for that.

I have often referred to Simon's comment in the early seasons (and even Adam's season) "We are looking for a POPSTAR". People love to say "it's a singing competition", but like Simon said "they are looking for POPSTARS. There is a difference. So Candice can sing great - she ain't no popstar. TONS of people in the world have big powerful voices. Most do not have what it takes to be a popstar.

Angie has what it takes to be a popstar.

EXACTLY FC, I would even add Amber to the makings of a popstar with Angie. As we know, a popstar does not need a spectacular voice (though Angie has one) to be a popstar. They need to be beautiful, stylish, current, with good enough voices to be able to sing live. The imperfections will be erased in the studio and backing tracks help with live performances.
This is the problem with the AI demographic being older and Bible Belt. They love that taking it to the church big voice or the folksy WGWG. Nothing in between. I also think that beauty plays against the female contestants and many an article has been written as such. While female voters love to embrace the HOT guy they never embrace the HOT girls.
This is rude and I apologize before hand if I offend anyone (this is just an observation) but something else I noticed the AI viewers are 90% females 40+ and quite hefty. I am over 40 and definitely over weight but when I have attended concerts I was surprised that I wasn't old or all that hefty after all.

My point is I really do think many women will not vote or embrace the pretty thin young things.

I am not offended and I do think there are those who will not vote for the pretty and thin. I saw a lot of posts at IDF rooting for "the big girl" and "big girls rule" etc.

Not only is Candice "a big girl" she does NOT look young. She is 23 and looks 33 IMHO. So she fits very close to the watching demo.

I'm not offended either but I'm sure that is the case based on the demographic. I wouldn't vote for a female 99 percent of the time mainly because I don't care for female singers. There are very few that I like. My preferences have always been male, young and cute or not.

You guys mention Amber and Angie......I think Janelle should be included there. She's young and cute and has great stage presence already.

I would include Janelle for sure! More than Amber actually. If Janelle had performed more like she did with The Band Perry on the Finale she might have gone further! She was on fire that night!

My mom is like you Canear. She likes very few female singers. She loves Carrie, Miranda Lambert and Reba Country singers you see. She likes Angie a lot and she did like Amber too. My parents huge record collection was about 99.9% male singers/bands.

I wanted to see more from Aubrey. I like Candice as I like jazz, Motown, soul etc. but I also love country and newer music. I just think country is a bit oversaturated at the moment.
