so awesome that all countries Olympic commities get to take a petal from the Olympic cauldron home with them flower

we have to wait to see The Who untill midnight cause they are playing the show animal practice affraid at 11:00.

Yes each countries Olympic committee being able to take home their petal from the cauldron is quite special. Each petal has a countries name on it. What a lovely touch! That was a really pretty ending especially with that song from Take That.

Yeah, I don't understand why they had to cut the closing ceremony short to preview a new show. It just doesn't make much sense to me especially since the preview is at 11pm at night. They did the same thing a few nights ago ending primetime coverage at 11 to preview the new Matthew Perry show.

So so stupid.

I am staying up cause I want to see anything they still have.

I tell ya I am soooooooo happy I watched the Closing ceremonies cause if i wouldn't have i would not of found out about Emeli Sande or Jessie J. or Take That and if i wouldn't of found out about them I never would of heard the gorgeous "Read All About It" from Emeli or the inspiring and beautiful "Rule The World" from Take That. Want to say my thoughts and prayers go out to Gary Barlow from Take That and his wife. Their daughter was born still born I believe last week Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad I would not of had it in me to show up at the Olympic Closing ceremonies after a loss like that. RIP to their little Angel.

Well they only showed The Who, but it was well worth it. The ending credits from NBC with scenery of Great Britain as well as many highlights of competition made me misty eyed. My gosh that is some beautiful landscape. There were so many great memorable triumphs from these Olympics and some real heartbreaking loses too. These two weeks sure flew by. Dear London thank you for a job well done!

Did they play both George's songs on NBC? Sounds like they cut quite a bit. I'm glad I got to watch it live here in the afternoon. They cut some out here in the evening edition but we got it all in the afternoon.

I thought Jessi J did great last night.

Emelie Sande was part of the tribute to the victims of that terrorism incident in London which occurred shortly after it was announced it had won the 2012 Summer Olympics. NBC opted not to show it.

Tribute to terrorism victims

The song she's singing, "Abide with Me" is a Christian hymn which apparently has become very popular in the UK and is often sung at sporting events.

I bet if you watched any of Adam's performances with QUEEN you wouldn't have thought so much of Jessi J with them Laughing Heck, she even copied Adam's back bend with Brian Evil or Very Mad

@Merrycello You are not alone in that reaction. This is a sample of non-Adam fans' tweets:

CLOSING CEREMONIES:

jianghomeshi While the world watches, Brian May puts on a wee rock guitar clinic during the #closingceremonies. This is why Britain has cool cred.

barrabest Seriously?! Please not Jessie J as Freddie Mercury! Where's @adamlambert? #closingceremony

arjanwrites: I know what Adam Lambert fans are aching for right now.

heatworld Somewhere, Jay from 5ive is putting a drawing pin into a Jessie J poster #closingceremony

Eddieheman Jessie J really? Why didn't they just make @adamlambert an honorary Brit for the night?

dazgale: If I was Brian May, I'd smash Jessie over the head with a guitar.

iamdanieljlacey I love Jessie J, but @adamlambert should have sung with Queen on the #OlympicsClosingCeremony! Quite disappointed he isn't there :(

compoZer_ @Mcampbell1989: I do love myself some queen!! Should of had adam lambert as always as lead singer but he is american! #trust

Popdust Seriously, Adam Lambert's collective fans are probably crossing the English Channel with bayonets right now.

Eefs_KOL And its not that she's singing for Freddie its coz she's awful I saw queen live with Adam Lambert and it was good.. she was not

Titchyhill @Ikealord She just ruined the whole.thing.... I could have handled ot.bein Adam Lambert seen as he's the one touring with Queen....

craigmaran I know Adam Lambert is American but he has done a good job at all of Queen's live performances so far....oh well.

dazgale Oh @adamlambert. You were missed tonight.

ZoliErdos Rule #1: There is only one Queen and one Freddy Mercury. #2: @AdamLambert was better w. Queen than Jessie J. #3: There are only 2 rules

Matt_Kendo: Queen you have Adam Lambert. F*CKING USE HIM!

FMCV_Official: Jessie J does in 5 minutes what the IRA could never do. Kill Queen.

iOwnBritney Queen with Adam Lambert Sounds Better #OlympicClosingCeremony

Chelle_MARS Remember when Adam Lambert sang with Queen? That was epic. Oh, and MCR too!!!

xxSkedz24xx Why didn't they have Adam Lambert or Paul Rodgers singing with Queen? Jessie J is an insult to Freddie, the other 2 at least do him justice.

CarrotyCarrots @Jasoncoles52 Not good! They should've had Adam Lambert (no-one would've noticed he's not British!)

SepiasSecret Damn straight! RT @purplegirll: not hating but from twitter I think Adam needs to thank Jessi J for illustrating just how fantastic he is :)

TheGomezinator Freddie was greatly missed tonight, the only other person who can do "We Will Rock You" justice is Adam Lambert.

kms15423 @chunkeymonkey81 This is probably one of the best reverse PR moves EVAH

Mitla96 Rule of show biz: Don't be the act after Adam Lambert.

samlansky I guess not everyone was excited about Jessie J's performance in the Closing Ceremony. http://pic.twitter.com/POgWvzb7

chunkeymonkey81 The BEST part abt the "no adam?!" tweets is they are mostly UK/EU tweets bc it hasn't aired in US yet. Huzzah!

DanHemming Closing ceremony has been ok. Not a patch on the opening though, just don't ever put Jessie J in Queen again.

missprofanity I just woke from a nightmare. Jessie J was on stage with Brian May, murdering a Queen classic. Thank God it was only a dream. What?

kidrauhlcity I'm sorry Jessie J but Adam Lambert still slays singing with Queen k.

JordanMeehan: WHY?!?! @ QueenWillRock

HA!! LOVE EET!!!

Thanks for bringing those over FY!!!

I cannot stand anything about Jessi J and it was pretty clear from Brian's face during rehearsal he wasn't loving her either Laughing

She cannot hold a candle to our Queen Kelly Clarkson!
