Sorry about the quality of this pic, but it had to be taken through the window, or they would have jumped out of the chair. Jesse (gray) and Jewel, our neighbors cats who live part time at our house. We've made a warm bed for them to sleep here when they can't/won't go home....

What a beautiful morning.........until it became entirely overcast.......

OMG!! The cats are so beautiful!! Rob and I just spent an hour playing with Alice and Lexi! They are now free to roam the house and they are having a ball!

That is so nice that you made J&J a warm bed for when they visit! I could just hug them!

Jesse, you could hug......Jewel, no. She's real skittish. I can now, if I'm real slow, pick her up, but she doesn't like to be held very long. It's too bad really, because her fur is like silk and she has a black stripe down her back, she's gorgeous.

Sadly, a lot of cats would rather not be held for long No But they both look gorgeous!

Oh Sky the kitties are so precious!!!!!!!! So cute. I could just snuggle them!

And what a gorgeous picture of the morning. That's beautiful. I love it when the sky gets pink like that.

My Kitty Cupcake loves to be picked up and held. A lot of the time she'll let me hold her for two minutes or more. She likes being cradled like a baby. She won't do it for everyone, but when it comes to me she loves it.

Don't you just love the natural world's rituals :D

Penguins

Did you ever wonder why there are no dead penguins on the ice in Antarctica - where do they go ?

Wonder no more ! ! !

It is a known fact that the penguin is a very ritualistic bird which lives an extremely ordered and complex life.

The penguin is very committed to its family and will mate for life,as well as maintaining a form of compassionate contact with its offspring throughout its life.

If a penguin is found dead on the ice surface, other members of the family
and social circle have been known to dig holes in the ice, using their
vestigial wings and beaks, until the hole is deep enough for the dead bird
to be rolled into and buried.

The male penguins then gather in a circle around the fresh grave and sing:

"Freeze a jolly good fellow"

"Freeze a jolly good fellow...."

lol!

Only a small part of the whole short film has been used on an advert here - I just loved the tiny bit I saw & went looking where it came from...Tada!

At first that is what I thought. But then the credits kept going on and it said short film - which here we never see for a commercial.

Yep...it is a short film & only a tiny bit of the bouncing elephant was used in an advert :D
I'd originally looked for the advert on you tube...then found the actual short film it was taken from.

I haven't seen my niece in almost a year and today I got the sweetest Valentine's Day card in the mail with a new picture of her dressed in one of cute dresses I had gotten for her birthday last year. She's grown so much and she looks so much older than she is. So beautiful. Instantly made me smile and warmed my heart. But it also made me cry and I'm still crying. I've missed her so much.

Aw.........Teddy......... I'll bet she looked adorable. It's really hard when someone we love, lives to far away to see often.
