| Serena's match was fantastic, she and Elena played great it could have gone either way, Elena had some chances but Serena is just too tough and she hate to lose. The other match was pitiful, Venus didn't have any competition, Safina just faded away. So Saturday the Williams sisters again. |

| I have to say many congrats to Andy Roddick Of course I was cheering on Andy Murray, & Murray has nothing to feel ashamed about, he played well - just not well enough! Of course now I WILL be cheering Andy Roddick in the final - if Murray went out in the Semi's - I'd like it to be to the one that wins the tournament! I watched the Ladies final today, & although I prefer Venus, it was a well deserved win by Serena. But I was so pleased that they won the Ladies Doubles too |

Oh my that is simply awful about Bruce McNair. I remember watching him play. His poor family.
I watched most of the Venus/Serena match this morning. Congrats to Serena! She was so excited to win. I just don't how siblings play each other! They've always amazed me.
Andy vs Roger should be quite an exciting match tomorrow. teddy, are you getting up at 6 a.m. to watch? |

[/quote] As I watched the Williams matched I couldn't imagine how I would feel playing against my sister. Not letting up if she has a bad game, but then it is a career & not a hobby. I had to smile a bit when they were playing the women's doubles later, there were a few critisisms from the commentators about how well they were playing! Ummmmmmmmmmm...sorry but hadn't they just some 5 hours before played a final against each other & had the highs, lows & huge adrenalin rush from that? I know they are professional players...but hey....! (well they won anyway ) |

Apparently their father doesn't watch when they're playing each other.......he stays home and cuts the grass! |

| I did find it strange that their mother still remained very very straight faced when they won the doubles together - I could understand in the singles final - but not really so much in the doubles.. as they did it together. But what do I know? |

| Now if my sons got to win the doubles together I would be celebrating all over the place!! :confetti: Not sure I could cut the lawn like their Dad as I would still want to watch them and be there for them. But it would be difficult, especially if one kept beating the other one. But, I am sure their folks are just very proud of both of them getting to the finals as often as those two girls have! _________________ "You can kinda just be. Just live your life -- and play." | Didn't see the match today but congrats to Serena. Sorry Venus GO RODDICK!!!! I want him to finally get a win over Roger. He has to control his nerves and go for everything no matter what. ***** You guys pray for the McNair family, friends and teammates. Football QB Steve McNair was found dead in his condo. Don't know all details; just know that he was found with a gunshot wound to the head Poor Steve Shannon :angel3: |

I think it is this way for the guys to. When Andre Agassi beat Todd Martin in the 1999 US Open final i was delirious cause I was soooooooooo happy for Andre but I was crushed just the same for Todd cause I adore Todd and this was the second time he came so close to something and it not happen. It was very bittersweet.

Are you kidding me??? That's in just 5 hours!!!! Heavens I don't think I could do that despite how much I want to watch the match.
Congrats to Serena for winning on the women's side. For some reason I've always picked her over Venus, but I feel bad for V just the same. I hope she can come back and give it even more fight the next time around.
It's amazing how the two of them can compete against each other and then play together too for the doubles. How they are able to do that is something I'll never understand.
GO RODDICK!!!!!! |
