| LOL!!!!!!! She really stuck her finger in there? LOL! No, I don't want and can't have a cat. Cat allergies in this family. I actually have two neighbor cats that think they have two homes, mine and theirs. They never have come into my house, but one really, really wants to. She is afraid to go home because she'll be bullied by their newest cat, so she comes here and sleeps outside my deck door. The other one, as soon as he sees the kitchen light come on in the morning is right there on the window ledge, banging on the window with his paw. We had to feed these cats once, while their owners were on vacation........ |

Sounds like you have some little furry friends for life there Sky !! Grrrrrrrrrr.. my ex-neighbour had 2 cats & in 2002 he got a job in Wales so asked if I would go in & feed the cats for him for a couple of weeks while he found them somewhere to live which was no problem for me, except it went on for 6 months!!!He emailed or text me the first month ..then nothing! After 6 months I text him asking if he was ever gonna collect the cats (I was pretty grumpy coz I had been ill for sometime with what turned out to be infected Gall Bladder...& Gall stones) I had a very short sharp text back telling me that he would collect them that weekend which he did, didn't actually speak to me...but he took them. His house stood empty for a long time (he did have a mortgage but didn't seem to want to sell) & suddenly he turned up in December 2006 with a truck & the cats!!!! He moved back in his house, but at the start of Feb 2007 I saw the cats in my garden...looking up at my window.I thought it strange, so went out & saw the house was in darkness.I went over to the back door to try & persuade them to go back through the catflap, but it was locked shut!!!! Anyway..to cut a long story short...his house was repossessed & the estate agents basically kicked the cats out! Now don't get me wrong...initially I had every sympathy for the guy, but the day he turned up on my doorstep saying he was going off on holiday to the US for a week & would collect the cats when he came back made me VERY angry!! (and of course never saw him again after that only heard from him via texts with so many contradicting stories!)So the poor cats lived under a bush in my garden. The weather was awful ...so I made a makeshift house for them under there...using wheelie bin on it's side & kept them well fed & watered.I tried to get the RSPCA involved, but they would do nothing to rehome them as they belonged to the guy!!!! It was soooo sad...there was no way could I have them live in my little house with Fang & of course for Fang..."his" garden" had been invaded!! Well eventually in the April I managed to "embellish" the truth & get them into a cat rehoming centre & in the August they managed to be rehomed together http://www.rats-animalrescue.co.uk/Gallery/CAT%20Re-homed%20Ginge%20&%20Poppy.html As you can imagine...I heard nothing from the ex neighbour!!!! The worst thing of all was I had mentioned to the guy right at the start about rehoming them, or even a foster place until he sorted himself out...but he was adamant that he wanted to keep them!!
People!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR |

| One of the neighbor's cats, Jewel is always over here looking for food. She is so hungry because she doesn't like going to her house when the "one" other cat is there, so she won't, and therefore she doesn't get fed regularly. I know I shouldn't, but I do feed her. She has the loudest meow I have ever heard, it's a hungry meow. She also is the most 'skittish' of their three cats and normally you can't even get near her before she'll run away, so it makes it very hard for the owner to catch her. She has just recently let me at least pet her as I put out something for her to eat. I'm a softee for animals too.......... |

| Awwwwwwwww Sky...that is sweet (that you could pet her)!! Poppy...one of the cats abandoned, was a very nervous cat too.It was amazing that she must have remembered me feeding her the 4 years previous because she would come to me with no problem :). I was really angry because I had asked the RSPCA to call me at work if they wanted to come & see the "living arrangements" for the cats & I would come home (I'm about a 10 min drive from work...or 5 mins if I'm in a hurry ) ...but nope...the bloke turned up......blundered into my garden (even though I wasn't there).....& then said later on the phone "Oh I saw them...but they ran off" BLOODY USELESS!!! |

Wholeheartedly agree with you on this! That is why I love working with horses and have rescued cats, dogs, and horses. It is a heart and mind expanding experience for sure. |

| I'm safe in befriending 'Jewel', she does have a home and I can't have a cat in the house because my Son, DIL and Grandson are allergic to cats. I just don't want her to go hungry. |

| Awww those poor kittys. I get so annoyed when I hear of people abandoning their animals like that. Thank goodness there are people like you around Adrift who will try and help them. The only creature I ever got to rescue was a pigeon ! I think it was a racing bird and I found it some years back in my back garden - apparently exhausted. I got a makeshift cage from a neighbour and brought it into the house. Got some proper pigeon food and let it stay a while. Do you know - I used to open the cage and let it out into the living room and it used to lie on the carpet by the fire ! One day it had run out of water and I went to the kitchen to get some - as I walked into the living room - it flew across the room to meet me, landed on my arm and had a drink ! Of course - eventually I had to offer it the chance to leave and it flew off - probably headed home if it was a racing bird. I missed that bird like mad for a while afterward. |

| WOW! How wonderful of you RC! My mom and I used to take care of the outdoor birds that we would find wounded. _________________ "You can kinda just be. Just live your life -- and play." Adam Lambert - OUT mag. |
