HA! I made the mistake of putting Shea next to the horse - gorgeous!! So torn. Rob thinks that it would be wonderful for me to give the horse to Katie - of course that is because he said "that just will not look right in your office" Man, I really loved the idea of having a horse for them. I just wish it wasn't so long and wide. You know, I have not stood next to a horse for years and years. Are they really that much bigger than people? Are your horses way taller than you HL?

The scale of a human to a average/smaller horse would be the back of the horse would hit about upper chest of a human to eye level for a bigger one. My husband can rest his arms with his arms slightly raised to eye level on the butt of my mare. My horses weight around 900 pounds and they are smaller to give you an idea.

Why could'nt you just put the horse in a box and store it when you are'nt using it? It sounds like such an awesome prop to have for the elf dolls. If you get tired of it, you can always use it for the kids to play with when they are at your house.

Yes, that is what I have decided to do! The more I looked at it with Shea next to it the more I felt - what the heck! I will use the horse for a prop in pix. I think I can make it work nicely for Christmas decorating as well as a prop. When it is not in use I will store it with the Christmas stuff. I was just really taken aback at first when I saw it. Damn, the box it shipped in could hold a TV! So I didn't think it could work. The more I look at it the more I want to keep it. I told Rob I was going to keep it. He laughed and said "Poor Katie"! I will get her a $10 gift card and give her Papin some of the clothes that I was never able to sell. She will be happy with that. The clothes are perfect. Hardly touched. I think I will make her Papin a necklace too.

With those measurements the horse is pretty close to just the right size then. Maybe a little taller than you described with your hubby.

ETA: EEK! It gets better! Eric heard me talking about it and said "I will give you $20 so that it can be your present from me Mom!" This was in response to Rob saying "Have you bought yourself enough presents yet this Xmas?" I have been rather naughty haven't I? So that is great of Eric! I have no reason to feel guilty now at all!

So tomorrow or Friday expect some pix of Shea with his new pet!! Off to find a name for the horse!

AETA: Snowmane! That is the name of one of the horses from Lord of the Rings! It was a boy, but I think ours will be a girl. The name suits the horse!

We will miss you today HL But I will not be home either. With the new kids my days off have changed (as Katie and Nathan's mom switched them to the same days) so now I am off on Thursday and Friday instead of Weds. and Friday. I am taking my Mom to the dentist this morning for her crown and I will do her grocery shopping while she is getting worked on. Her Jewel/Osco is just about 1/2 a block from her dentist so that works out great. Then I am going to go to Borders for some gift cards and maybe Target too. I found out that Target sells the horses for American Girl doll so if you want to see them in person pop into a Target!

Ladies, I just cannot bring myself to take pix today. I haven't been able to do anything since I got this horrible news. My head is killing me. Maybe tomorrow. I wanted to finish up the Christmas cards tonight but I just have no desire to do that either. I feel like keeping Justin home from school tomorrow and just being with him, but I know he needs to go and be with his friends and the special counselors the HS has there tomorrow. But if he wants to stay home that would be fine with me. I just want to hug him and hug him and hug him some more!

You hug him all you want FC, he will need it as well as you will need it. My heart just breaks for everyone. Don't even think about taking any pics for us, good lord you have enough to be concerned about.

I just took a few quick shots of Shea with Snowmane. They are not very good. I just wanted to take a few and post them so you could see how awesome Snowmane is and how great Shea looks with her! I am thrilled that I kept her!!

Guess what came today! The flute! It is really lovely! It was funny, I was in the master bedroom on the phone with one of the neighbors whose son worked with Blake and when the doorbell rang I figured it was just UPS leaving a package or something. But something told me to walk downstairs and check anyway and what do I see??!! The mailman heading back to his car with a little package. I think MY FLUTE!!! So I fling open the door and yell HELLO!!! He laughs and comes back and sure enough it was the flute from China and I had to sing for it. If I had not been home (as I usually am not on Fridays) or I didn't get down there in time, I would not have been able to pick it up until tomorrow or Monday. So that was great. I will get pix of Shea with the flute later.

EEEK! I just rearranged the dolls a bit in my office so that I could put Snowmane and Shea on the long table and it looks awesome!!! I am so pleased!!
