HL, here are a few, not really good ones though.

I know I had better pics, but with this move from XP to Vista, things are all over the place on the computer and some programs aren't working correctly.

OMG SkY! I am madly in love with your Lighthouse village! I have never seen anything like it! Are all the pieces from one particular collection? I adore all the colors and patterns, and the bottlebrush trees. How long have you been collecting the christmas village stuff?

Thank you. I wish I could find the pictures of it lit up at night, it's really nice. I don't know how long it's been.......a while though. It all started because of my love of lighthouses. I wanted them, but didn't know what to do with them, if I bought them. All the craft stores and other stores would put out their village stuff for Christmas and I'd look at just the lighthouses and drool. So, I just started getting a few here and there and some people bought one or two for me, and so I decided MY village would only be lighthouses! I have a couple of mirrors for the water and some people and boats and a boat house.

Initially, I thought where would I put it? I had to put it where the GK's wouldn't play with it. So hubby made this huge shelf/ledge to install on the window sill above the front door and it has braces underneath. Having it there is perfect, it's out of reach but can be seen from the livingroom and upper stairway/hall. It is a pain getting it all up there and it takes a lot of trips up the ladder. Some of them are elevated using small boxes or containers. I'll just be using the styrofoam and cover it to conceal it. I may try to get crafty with it, if I have the time.

I've kind of stopped getting any others because I don't have any more room! If I should see one I love, than another one would have to retire.

Oh Sky I love your lighthouse village! It's beautiful.

And I love that you've incorporated them into Christmas.

My mom has a love of lighthouses too but she doesn't have anything like that!

Wow. I wish I could go to your house and see that in person.

Anytime, Teddy!!

They are only displayed at Christmas time.
Everywhere I go, I have to see the lighthouses of the area. Funny how many places I go that are near water!!! Nova Scotia was amazing for lighthouses, as well as California and Oregon and of course my state of WA.

My lord Sky that is absolutely gorgeous! I feel vastly inferior in my decorating abilities compared to you!

Yes, there are little creatures and people lurking about. I love doing this, but what I don't like is having to put in all away. It's not too bad getting it all out and up.

Oh I am just the opposite! I get all the Xmas stuff put away in one day - yet it takes 3 or 4 to get it all out!! AND I will be doing that about a month!

All the lighthouses have to go back into their boxes, all the lights taken out and all the snow put away. It does come down faster than it goes up, I just hate the trouble it is to pack it all away.

Have any of you seen these glass block decorations? I've always been intrigued with them, but didn't want the hassle of having to drill a hole in them to insert the lights. You can decorate the outside of the block with anything, whether it be paint, decals, etc. You then insert a small string of lights inside and wrap a bow on it, if you want to. Anyway............the glass blocks are now available at JoAnn's with various different openings already there, to insert whatever you want inside!! I had to share this idea.

I've never seen those before either. Although, we do have JoAnn's down here too.

My goodness you ladies really get into the Christmas spirit and go all out in your decorating! I know I love it too. Over the years my parents have just gotten more tired of doing anything. It's all too big a hassle for them. So the only thing I ever get to do now is decorate the tree. I want to do more! I want to have more decorations. Darn if I lived closer to one of you I'd so be there to help!

We do a ton of decorating on the inside of the house - but not very much on the outside. I will post lots of pix this year!
