The red wall is really sharp looking with the black and white. Very nice choice Sky! What material is your countertop? Corian?

Thank you. It's just like Corian but it's another brand I can't remember, but I'll look later) and it's a thinner product, like a thick overlay, but it was not put on over the old counters but onto a new form. I love it! Okay, I went and got the info......it's Wilsonart Solid Surfacing Veneer.

Cool! Was it expensive? Can it go over existing countertops? _________________ "You can kinda just be. Just live your life -- and play." Adam Lambert - OUT mag.

I've had it for a while, and I don't remember how much it cost to have it installed. It wasn't too much more than a laminate countertop. I'll have to tell you how we decided on it and how we met the installer when I have more time. It does not go over a countertop, it's installed over wood/particle board like a laminate countertop is done.

I would like to hear more about the Wilsonart product too Sky. Did it come with the sink in the same product like corian does?

I don't know about the sink, HL. I wanted a stainless sink. I had wanted a solid surface countertop but knew it was not in our price range and at the time Granite was not in the mainstream for countertops so it wasn't even considered. So we're standing around at Lowe's trying to pick which pattern/color for a countertop and we start listening to this man talking about countertop materials. We were there for a while just listening and then started asking him questions. He didn't work for Lowe's. He told us about the Wilsonart product and that it would be better than the laminate and he knew an installer. I know, we picked up a contractor!!!! He was a Fireman as well. We had him and the installer of the Wilsonart product come out to the house and give us an estimate. I'll have to ask hubby the cost, because I've forgotten. We selected the color/colors, edge detail, they measured and when it was finished they came back and installed. The cut-out for the sink, I kept and use it for baking preparations.

HL, I was at IKEA today and they also do granite countertops, just in case you are interested. I don't know how their cost compares to other costs though. I love IKEA.

Without actually looking, I saw the display for granite and quartz countertops, so they may offer other options as well.

I wonder if they do prefab slabs that come in certain sizes then you install them. If so, that has got to be cheaper. I wonder if they have any info on their webpage.
