I never wash shower curtains! I change the one in the boys bath as soon as it starts looking funky! You sure have a way with words Adrift! Hope your neighbor stays away from spicy food so you can get some sleep! _________________ "You can kinda just be. Just live your life -- and play." Adam Lambert - OUT mag.

Well, we got the bid from Color Tile and it is within budget so on with the project! It will be a few weeks before they start. The floor tile will be ordered tomorrow and the demolition continues. Mr. HL will be removing the resillient floor, removing the laminate from the vanity, and repairing some water damage around the floor of the shower. We took out the glass shower door this weekend, and i hung up my new shower curtain with shabby chic style vintage glass shower curtain holders. The shower curtain is a nice white with silver baroque design. I love the way it looks and we have'nt even done anything yet! Gotta love that Target store... Oh! I get to try out my new Moen shower head tonight too...life is good! Even though my bathroom is semi-torn up!

Yes! I have wanted to do this for so long, I'm sure you can relate how excited I am to finally have it happen! Bye, bye vinyl stained floors and discolored and outdated laminate countertops! Hello ceramic tile! *Happy dances to work to make more money to pay for it*

| I'm bringing this discussion over from another thread........... | Quote: | We got sealed porcelain and they told us about a grout that has sealer in it, so no need to seal that either! We never would have known that if we'd just gone to Home Depot or Lowe's, etc.
So the folks at Tile Lines turned you on to the grout with sealer? I sure love the tile floor we installed in our bathroom, it is so easy to care for. Now the white tile countertop is much better than the funky formica crap we had, but still gets dirty really fast with all my make-up and other products flying around in the morning. ARe you finished with your kitchen update Sky?
|
Yes, we've been finished with the floor for a while now. Actually, it was suppose to be put in when the temps here were in the 100's, but we feared the mastic/grout would dry before we layed the tile, so we waited a week longer! In the meantime, all my kitchen appliances were in the dining room and we only had the microwave to cook with. It did get layed when the weather cooled a bit. I am so glad we chose tile. I love it! Are we finished? Eh! I'd love a backsplash, but I doubt that will happen.......I'd love Stainless appliances, but until the other ones need replacing the white will stay. The only thing I wish we had done differently is had a smaller grout line. Don't get me wrong, I love the floor, I just wish we'd had a smaller grout line.
Yes, Tile Lines told us they had a grout that didn't need to be sealed. I had mentioned that was one of my concerns. They fully explained how it worked and that they have had good results with it. It is a bit more expensive but worth it to me. It's a special add in to the grout in place of water. Two pics, neither one true color, it's not AS white nor AS tan/brown as it shows.......... (my kitchen is basically black and white with red accents. I've painted my backsplash area red.

Very pretty! You will love your ceramic tile. We put it in our kitchen a few years ago and I will never go back. I love it. Now I want it in my downstairs bath. It is PITA to install but well worth it.

Very pretty! I would love to see pix of the whole kitchen! Black and white with red accents sounds awesome!! We had gorgeous tile in our previous home - but when we built this house we ended up decided on the oak floors. We really love them! _________________ "You can kinda just be. We also would like to lay tile in all the bathrooms. Eventually, I think we will.

I love your tile Sky, it looks very much like what we put in our master bath. I am gradually updating my appliances with stainless as they die or need replacing too. Next to go is the white dishwasher and cooktop. What color are your solid surface counters? Would love to see your back splash with it.

We really would have preferred a larger tile, but it wasn't available. We also would have liked to lay them diagonally, but it's much more work and there is a lot of waste and it looked good either way, so we went with the easy way! My counters are white but have 'speckles' of black in them and the trim is black with white 'speckles', solid surface. I don't have a 'backsplash', just a painted wall, but I would love to have one, someday. The walls are white. Pardon the messy/cluttered countertops............My kitchen is not large....

Ha! That's why I cropped the pictures! I don't like cluttered countertops and would prefer nothing on them but the necessities.
