Great news for Daughtry! and his fans. I wouldn't mind getting this CD/DVD combo

Daughtry album to be expanded

Quote:
As if 4 million-plus sales weren't enough, Daughtry's self-titled debut album will undergo a makeover Sept. 9, adding plenty of new CD and DVD content. (This is a common ploy among pop superstars -- Usher, Rihanna, Chris Brown, etc. -- but I'm pretty sure this is the first Idol album to get the deluxe treatment.)

Four new tracks will be added: the acoustic What About Now from Idol Gives Back and an acoustic treatment of Home, a live version of It's Not Over, plus a cover of Foreigner's Feels Like the First Time, being used in CNN's League of First Time Voters campaign.

The added DVD has videos for the five Daughtry singles (Home, It's Not Over, Feels Like Tonight, Over You and What About Now) plus concert performances and interview footage. Proceeds from the What About Now video are earmarked for a host of charities, and Daughtry will also be promoting the ONE poverty-awareness campaign (featured heavily on IGB) at both political conventions and elsewhere

LaKisha preps first album, appears with Chaka Khan

Quote:
Season 6 fourth-place finalist LaKisha Jones, who's been on Broadway in The Color Purple and (somehow I missed this) served as a judge on MTV's ditzfest reality show Legally Blonde, is making her musical move. First she appears with R&B legend Chaka Khan, with whom she starred in Purple, and Musiq Soulchild at a Washington, DC, concert Thursday. Then, on Oct. 28, she releases her first album on the independent Elite Music label, which at the moment seems geared completely around this release. First single So Glad I'm Me is out Aug. 25, and is a midtempo, semi-symphonic R&B number that I'm not sure will cut through the profusion of female R&B tunes on the airwaves

Lau put this in Clay's thread (thanks Lau) and I thought I would copy it here since it includes other former AIers.

Good news here about Clay, and others!

Clay Aiken or Taylor Hicks Rockin Monty Python

Papa Clay to Play Broadway

In his Broadway.tv interview Daniel Radcliffe
references the “second coming of Christ,” well, the stakes are quite so
high here, but the enthusiasm is still strong. Word minutes ago that American Idol favorite Clay Aiken will re-join the cast of Broadway’s production of Monty Python’s Spamalot, going head to with another Idol Broadway sensation Taylor Hicks who is performing in the hit Grease. Meanwhile, Constantine Maroulis
seems likely to hit Broadway with “Rock Of Ages” if it has a successful
run off-Broadway. Aiken recently became a father, and now he’ll be a
Broadway hero again. Welcome back to Broadway, Clay. Watch out Taylor.
The run for Clay is September 19 through January 4.

Just an FYI for anyone interested in hearing Taylor's pre-American Idol songs. He's released a CD called "Early Works" that went on sale today (same day as the Jonas Brothers new CD) as a Target exclusive deal. It should be $9.98, according to the Target ads. This CD has remastered versions of songs that were on Taylor's previous CDs "In Your Time" and "Under the Radar." I don't have it yet, but I've read others saying that the mastering is much better on this CD.

This CD is being released without a lot of promotion (other than the Target ads), possibly because it's a reworking of his previous material and he might not want people to confuse it with the next CD he plans to put out with all-new material on it. Or it's just that he's doing it himself and saving his money for a big push for the new-material CD. Whatever the reason, since this is an inexpensive CD for him to put out there, he probably doesn't need to sell a lot to make some decent money on it. I have the 2 previous CDs but might get this one if the sound is really so much better on it, and I do think these songs represent who he is better than the AI-produced winner's CD did, so if you're interested in the true Taylor sound, you might want to pick up a copy.

If the message board info at Broadwayworld is correct, Ace Young will be the next Kenickie in Grease. Good for Ace! Another idol hits Broadway. Take that Simon!

In the thread below, there is a picture about 3/4 down on the page. I like his hair short!

WOW! Is right! Ace looks amazing in that photo!! I wonder if it is new or old.

He has always had "the body to die for"! I really like him and wish him the best. I think he would be great as Kenickie!!

Kristy Lee Cook's CD is now available for order on Amazon. It will be out September 16th. You can see the cover art here:

KLC CD

It is called "Why Wait" . I guess as in "why wait for the winner to get his CD out first' Rolling Eyes

Really? I thought the end was funny. Did you find it offensive or something? I wondered if Indian people might. It is hard to tell sometimes if people will object to things like that.

I'm interested in seeing the video.....However, one detriment to reading and posting on the sly at work (which, of course, I shouldn't be doing 8)) is that the videos are blocked. Later..... geek

Not much offends me! Laughing I think it comes down to the fact I don't much care for Sanjaya.
