This is just so sad Crying or Very sad

Quote:
Comedian Bernie Mac died at Northwestern Memorial hospital early Saturday morning, according to Sun-Times Columnist, Stella Foster. He was 50.

Though the cause of death has not been confirmed, Mac had been hospitalized recently for pneumonia. Foster said that she received calls early Saturday morning from a close friend of the Mac family, confirming the reports of Mac's death.
The columnist also said she was deeply saddened to receive such a phone call just an hour after Mac was pronounced dead.

"It brought tears to my eyes because Bernie Mac has always been my all-time favorite entertainer and comedian. It pains me to have to report that," Foster said during a phone interview on Saturday morning.

On Friday, a spokeswoman for the actor, whose real name is, Bernard McCullough, said that he had been responding well to treatment for the illness.

Publicist Danica Smith said Thursday in a statement that Mac's condition is ''stable.'' Smith first announced on August 1st that Mac was hospitalized in Chicago.

Smith has said the pneumonia isn't related to an inflammatory lung disease Mac also has. That condition has been in remission since 2005.

Foster noted that last weekend, several web sites reported wrongly that the comedian died.

Mac made waves last month with off-color jokes during a fundraiser for Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama.

The comedian starred in the critically acclaimed Fox television series ''The Bernie Mac Show.'' His film credits include roles in the ''Ocean's Eleven'' franchise.

The actor's upcoming movies include "Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa" starring Ben Stiller, Chris Rock and David Schwimmer; and "Soul Men" with Samuel L. Jackson and Isaac Hayes.

There is no word on whether public services will be held.

I watched it sometimes too. He was very funny! It is just so sad for someone to die so young. It is so unexpected too. It was such a shock to go to MSNBC news site and see that headline. My condolences to his family Sad

It is being reported that Paul Newman has returned home and only has days to live Sad So sad. He was such a wonderful actor and interesting man. Darn cancer Mad Well, when they said my Dad only had days to live he lasted 5 months! So who knows. But my thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. At least he did get to live one heck of an active life.

Very sad about Issac Hayes too. We've lost a lot of talented people so far in 2008.

I really love Paul Newman . such a great actor and wonderful philantrophist. His salad dressings are the only bottled ones I buy because they are not full of jubk and are delish. He has helped so many children with his charity. I love all his old movies Hud , Cool Hand Luke, Absence Of Malice. I will be very sad to see him go.

Paul Newman has been one of my favorite actors and has been an outstanding example of how to live as a celebrity....he really has not acted like one. He will leave behind a body of work that I think will be considered classics.

Bernie Mac was such a wonderful entertainer and Isaac Hayes was a superb musician, whose music I have.

This is so sad. These men will be missed.

This poor girl No Remember Raven from Cosby, Hanging with Mr. Cooper and That's So Raven? Also The Chetah Girls. She was so popular a few years ago and now her career is in the toilet. I always enjoyed her when she was little.

Anyway, will somebody tell why these poor young stars have nobody telling them that something like this is, well, just not good Shocked I mean seriously. Who lets their client or whatever go on stage like this? I feel so bad for her.

It looks like she put on whatever she found at a costume store that was black, plus a T-shirt. I don't get it or maybe I'm too old to get it!!

I have so much admiration with how Paul Newman has lived his life. I also love the food company with ethics and a conscience he has created.

I hope he goes out the way he wants to and with dignity.

I bought some Paul Newman salad dressing Tuesday kind of as a tribute. Actually, I do like all of his food products. His daughter Nell makes cookies too that are really good.

Raven has said that she's embracing the fact that she's a big girl but really that's a terribly unflattering outfit.

I never bought any of Paul Newman's products, but I am going to buy some as a little tribute also.

I like that Raven is embracing who she is! That is wonderful. Just when I saw that picture it just made me wonder if there is no one looking out for her? How could she or anyone think that that outfit looked good Shocked It wouldn't look good on a skinny girl either No She seems like a sweetie and I hope she can turn her career around.

I love Christina Applegate. I so hope this all works out for her Crying or Very sad

Quote:
Christina Applegate Risks it All for a Baby

Christina Applegate has always dreamed of becoming a mom — and, despite her recent cancer diagnosis, she's refusing to give up.

Days before she was diagnosed with breast cancer last month, Christina told an interviewer of her longing to get pregnant. "I'm at that age where, biologically, it calls me a lot," she said. "I don't want to wait until I'm in my mid-40s."

The actress is so determined to have a baby that she has vowed to put off a punishing course of chemotherapy until after she has succeeded in starting a family, Star reports in our Aug. 25 issue. The Samantha Who? star's plan is to conceive a baby with musician Martyn Lenoble, whom she has dated for several months, says a friend. As soon as possible after the birth, she will start treatment.

"A baby is the most important thing in the world to Christina right now," says the source. "She doesn't want to expose her body to chemo or radiation until after she gives birth."
