| Anyone reading the Twilight series? I am looking to start reading a good book. When Eric has his oral surgery I will be in the waiting room for about 3 hours. They have crappy magazines there So I was thinking about getting the book "Twilight" and start reading the series (since I love Vampires) but at Amazon I'm reading several bad reviews. I thought maybe somebody here could give me some suggestions. _________________ Let's make the most of our time, as long as we're here...

| I love to read! I haven't read any of the Twilight series, but l lately I've been reading Jeffrey Archer's books. They are good "bus commuting" books. I picked up Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follet, but haven't started it yet. All the reviews I have seen on it have been very good. |

| Thanks! I will read some reviews of "Pillars of the Earth". I like mysteries best. I was never into romance novels. Also biographies. Oh, maybe I will get Valerie Bertinelli's book! I always just loved her! Soooo freaking adorable! And a good actress too! I even just watched her new TV movie on Lifetime. _________________ "You can kinda just be. Just live your life -- and play." | I don't recommend The twilight series. I thought it was beyond bad and I am a vampire freak. Have you read all of Anne rice's novels? I love her vampire series ans was very sad when she choose to stop writing those. Charlaine Harris has a fun series of vampire books out. The New HBO series are based on those. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=Charlaine+harris&x=15&y=20I have enjoyed all of these . Right now I am reading a novel of Catherine of Aargon. I love reading anything about the Tudors , fiction or non fiction. After I finish this I am going to read Gargoyle , it is a new book . Then I am going to read about Mary queen of Scots. |

| Thanks Aerwin! I will check into that series! I did just buy a "used like new" hardcover of Valerie's book for $5. I couldn't resist it for that price. I think it will make interesting light reading for sitting in the doctor's waiting room for 3 hours. I would love to get into a vampire series but those sound like books I would want to read at home where I can really concentrate without people talking around me etc. Since the first of that series is out in paperback I will try to pick it up when I am out. I love getting used hardcovers through Amazon. I have gotten hardcovers in completely new/excellent condition for such a savings! _________________ "You can kinda just be. | Well, after we went out for lunch we stopped at Walmart for some items. They had the paperback of Twilight and it was on sale for $8! I decided to get it. It was #1 on NY Times Best Sellers list and there were a ton of good professional reviews. Most of the people at Amazon gave it really good reviews, but there were some that really hated it. I guess that can happen with any book though. The lady at the check out read the series and loved all the books. So I figured for $8 I would go for it. I have 8 kids tomorrow and a birthday party so I probably won't get to start reading it until Friday. At this point I have a pretty peaceful day planned. I am off and I don't need to take anyone to the doctor or the stores! I will let you know what I think of it Aerwin. If I hate it at least I didn't pay a lot of money for it I was reading a lot of reviews for "The Host" which sounds really good too. "The Devil You Know" sounds awesome! I think that may be the next one I get. ETA: I just bought a "Used - Like New" of "The Devil You Know" for $1.99! It was also too good to pass up. That gives me 3 new books to read! Not sure when I will find time to read them all, but I will make the time! Aerwin, however do you read so many books and go to so many movies??!! You must stay up 24 hours a day! _________________ "You can kinda just be. Just live your life -- and play." Adam Lambert - OUT mag. |

| Well I get up at 5:30 and exercise first. Get all my work done . After dinner I watch TV or read. We usually watch movies on the weekends. I read a lot so I read fast. GAH You got that book for 1.99 , that's great! FC , have you read Anne Rice's vampire series? Those are my favorites. |

| Yep, with shipping it was just under $5. I haven't read Anne's books. I saw the movie "Interview with a Vampire" and I didn't care for it so I never bought the books. Though you say the books are much better so maybe someday I will give them a try. You get up at 5:30 AM to exercise??!! Girl you are amazing! Sadly, I am a rather slow reader. I really like to picture everything in my mind. I even took a speed reading course and I hated the way they were trying to get us to read! Just not enjoyable at all. They said just look for key words! Yuck, what fun is that? _________________ "You can kinda just be. Just live your life -- and play." Adam Lambert - OUT mag. |

| OH I hated the movie! Love the books though. I don't just look for key words. I love to read , always have. I've always heard the more you read the faster you read. |

| I bought "The Host" today from a seller on Amazon. Brand new Hardcover for $13 plus $2.99 shipping. I read a ton of reviews of the book at Amazon and Walmart and it really was overwhelmingly well liked. So EEEK! 4 new books to read! Wonder how long it will take me I'm excited though to get back into reading novels. I will stop with these 4 for now. If I really like "Twilight" I know I will want to get the others in the series. _________________ "You can kinda just be. Just live your life -- and play." Adam Lambert - OUT mag. |

| Currently, I'm reading "The Ruins" by Scott Smith. I read a wide variety, but tend to go for non-fiction or suspenseful fiction. Some of the best books I've read were by David Pelzer. |

| I looked that one up on Amazon. It is so interesting how some people absolutely love a book and others hate it. I saw that with the books I ordered. I think that one sounds pretty good and I respect Steven King's opinion. When I was younger that's all I read - Stephen King. "The Shining" is the only book I read in two days. I think I would have finished it faster if I didn't have to work. Scared the crap out of me! I love when a book can do that! _________________ Let's make the most of our time, as long as we're here...

| Another book I just finished, which was non-fiction, was the "Heroine Diaries" by Nikky Sixx. Amazing he is still alive! |
