| I've read "The Kite Runner" and really enjoyed it. There are some difficult parts in it, but they are integral parts of the story. I like the author's writing style, as it is very descriptive and flows well. I have also read his second book "A Thousand Spendid Suns" and recommend that as well. The first one follow the lives of two boys in Afghanistan and the second one is about two women in Afghanistan. The description of the cultural and human rights issues are heart-wrenching. Class, gender and political issues are part of the story lines. The stories are sad, but I think they also create an awareness of a culture that is so far removed from what most of us know. |

| I enjoyed the Kite runner as well. Boy it is a lesson in culture shock though. I guess sometimes we as Americans do not realize how differently other parts of the world live. It is a good story though. I reccomend it. |

| I am still awaiting the books I ordered to arrive. I have decided to wait and read Twilight last of the 4 since it has follow-up books. I figured if I loved it I would want to move right to the next of the series and than the other 3 books would sit. So when they all arrive I will decide which to read first. Then when I am done with those 3 I can move on to the Twilight series. I wish they would hurry and arrive! I am getting antsy to read them! I think "The Host" might arrive today. It shipped Friday so I am crossing my fingers to find some goodies in the mail today! _________________ "You can kinda just be. Just live your life -- and play." Adam Lambert - OUT mag. |

| Right now I'm reading a collection of Eugene O'Neill's early plays. After that I've got a collection of James Thurber, a collection of Robert Frost and "Spoon River Anthology" to read. |

| WHOA!! Are you going to be busy!! That a ton of reading material! Here I am thinking 4 books coming in the mail is a lot I don't think I have read a collection of plays since High School. Dickens was the last I believe. Good for you! I am sure you will enjoy them all! _________________ "You can kinda just be. Just live your life -- and play." Adam Lambert - OUT mag. |

I requested the book "21: Bringing Down the House" from the library and received a notice that it is being held for me, so that's the next book I'm reading. It's the one about the MIT students who beat the casinos in Las Vegas. |
This might not be the book for you then................ |

I thought the book was a page turner! Not sure I'd want to see any movie made from it though. I didn't like the ending, but thought that it would end that way, well most of it anyway. I don't want to say too much because some may want to read it. I'd say anyone liking Stephen King's earlier books would like this one. It really held my interest and was quite descriptive. A good book will send me 'into' the story and I visualize everything, this book was very well written in that respect. It did leave me wondering, why? and What? |

| I agree it was a page turner. I could not put it down. It left my wondering WHY all right. There was NO explaination at the end. NONE. Stephen King at least always gives you a reason for stuff. |

| OK, so I just bought "The Ruins" from a seller at Amazon. $1.75 + $3.99 shipping. It is a new copy from a seller with 100% approval rating so it should be a good deal. All this talk about it being so scary and the ending - well, I had to check it out! LOVE getting books from Amazon. Such deals! _________________ "You can kinda just be. | You will enjoy it while you are reading it. But I was mad at the ending. My husband and sister were too. |

| YAY! Book order #2 arrived today! "The Host"! I'm excited to read that one! I also received this beautiful bookmark I ordered. It is one of those metal ones in silver and it has beautiful purple Swarovski crystal beads and a pretty silver filigree heart that dangles down the side of the book. It will make me feel all sophisticated while I read! _________________ "You can kinda just be. Just live your life -- and play." Adam Lambert - OUT mag. |

I just finished Tristan and Isolde. I loved it . It is an old celtic legend that takes place during King Arthur's time. I love anything about Arthur and knights of the round table. |
