I think that one sounds pretty good and I respect Steven King's opinion. When I was younger that's all I read - Stephen King. "The Shining" is the only book I read in two days. I think I would have finished it faster if I didn't have to work. Scared the crap out of me! I love when a book can do that!
Look what I can do!

I didn't read any reviews of the book. I tend to get most of my books at Costco, and this just looked like a quick read and so far it's entertaining. It says it will be a movie........... I use to read a lot of Stephen King, then they got so they were too similar or too far out there. |

| I love Stephen King . Always Have. I read his latest Duma Key in the spring. It was awsome. His son is now a writer/ His name is Joe Hill and his book is called Heart Shaped Box. It is about a rocker. I loved it. I read THe Ruins and loved it until the end and then I was furious. I am anxious to see what you think Sky. |

| Sky, I have read the "Heroine Diaries" and also can't believe he's still alive. They are even touring again. I read a lot of mystery and suspense books. One author whose books I have enjoyed is Dan Brown who wrote not only "The DaVinci Code," but also "Angels and Demons," "Digital Fortress," and "Deception Point." How do you like "The Ruins?" |

| So far, so good on "The Ruins". I haven't had the time needed to read alot. I've read 'DaVinci Code' and 'Angels and Demons'.....both very good. I also love books by Ann Rule, who was a Seattle Detective and now writes true crime books. |

| Oh, I've seen her on Oprah! I've seen a couple of TV movies based on her books. _________________ "You can kinda just be. Just live your life -- and play." Adam Lambert - OUT mag. |

Her books are so well written. The crimes she writes about are sometimes the stories you've heard about in the news, and wondered 'what went wrong' or 'what happened'. |

| Ok..I haven't read it yet. I was asking because I'm not a fan of gory incidents described in excrutiating detail. I requested the book "21: Bringing Down the House" from the library and received a notice that it is being held for me, so that's the next book I'm reading. It's the one about the MIT students who beat the casinos in Las Vegas. |

| OH! "The Ruins" is sounding very good to me! I'll add it to the list of books for the future. I bet that "21" book will be good. The movie looked interesting. _________________ "You can kinda just be. Just live your life -- and play." Adam Lambert - OUT mag. |

| Has anyone read the "Kite Runner"? After hearing Jason Castro read it and loved it but found it very sad, I've been thinking about getting that one. |
